I think the fact that people want to censor this song and remove the "There is no God in Heaven" part is absurd and actually quite disrespectful to the artist's right of free speech. If you like the song, listen to it as it is. Do you see people censoring the words of Christian bands simply because they do not agree with the lyrics? Accept that there are other viewpoints for once or listen to another song.

***** Morally, it's wrong in every sense of the word. Censoring someone else's work to fit your personal moral compass is both silly, rude and the infringement of that person's first amendment rights. While you are correct in that people can do what they wish, it's rude to bitch and nitpick about content on a FREE song.
That's like if someone gave you a free, pepperoni pizza, then you bitch and whine that you are vegetarian and demand that someone take the pepperoni off for you. You could be polite and take it off quietly by yourself, but nah, you're going to go onto UA-cam and fill the comment section with your beliefs until you get what you want.
Seriously. Go to any Christian band's comment boards and you don't often see people bitching about the message there. But an atheist song? Better bring out the pitchforks and censor that shit!
If people have their own thoughts and beliefs, then this song should be considered someone's thought or beliefs and should be respected as such.
I love this particular song, it doesn't say "there is no god" It says "there is no god in heaven", heaven is gods sanctum there for the song is singing about an apocalypse of some sort

I have never said that people don't have the right to do what they want. If you truly want to listen to the song a certain way, you certainly can. However, what people are doing is not quietly changing the music themselves, but screaming in the restaurant (UA-cam Comments) that they hate the free pizza the way it is and demand someone to change it. Like stop trying to shove your religion down everyone else's throat. If you have a problem with it then just fucking fix it yourself instead of starting a crusade with your beliefs.
Atheists or other non-believers don't go onto the pages of Christian bands and start exclaiming how "This isn't in line with my beliefs, I demand someone else fix it for me!" They either listen to that shit their own way or don't.
In the end, I really don't give a shit what people do or what their beliefs are. If they want to do something on their own that's perfectly fine, but what irks me is when they start shoving beliefs down everyone else's throats.

This may not be what you're referring to, but the lyrics may not necessarily be atheistic in nature. Rather "there is no God in heaven" may mean something like, "No one has your back. If there is a God, he is most definitely not looking after you with care."
This life will be a struggle, we aren't handed things. Hence Mikasa as the art, the core of her identity being the understanding of this intense struggle. And, not to try to start an argument, the connection of these concepts and that anime causes me to absolutely love this song including the lyrics.

This is just my opinion of what the lyrics mean but, when she says "there is no God in heaven" I think she means that God has come down from heaven to earth to judge us (judgement day) hence why she says "run for cover" / "no one will be forgiven". Or I could be completely wrong, idk.
