Super cool! We've always loved using Rhino products. Can't wait to try this out. We need this for our travel videos.
REALLY REALLY GOOD. The tip about darkskyfinder at the beginning was helpful, and your instructions were clear too. Thank you.
Failed milkyway positioning lol
Just did a milky way timelapse over the weekend in the Shenandoah Mountains. Remember to bring: a chair, bug spray, and a good flashlight.
Great videos. Looking forward to using mine soon.
thanks for the great Videos!!! love it
Great video! Thank you
The great thing about you is the time you spend in the moutain to do that .. and the time you spend it to share it with us .. thank you
Great vid guys!
Another great video. Will you be doing one on the post processing sometime? Thanks again.
my last upload was a milky way timelapse. can't wait to get a rhino slider someday to add awesome movement
Great Video
epic background music
moving time lapses are what dreams are made of
I'm excited and looking forward to getting a rhino kit!!!! But how did you guys mange the battery? How did it last for 4 hours or did you guys switch out the batters and if so how do you do so with the slider motion so it doesn't mess up the shoot. Does the slider stop and then starts where it left off ?
Is there a way in the Rhino workflow to pre-program the speed arc yaw movement as it travels across the slider? Gaining accuracy of this speed would be good to get hyper lapses were the camera turns with the earth's rotation.
Hello, i wanted to get an intervalometer for my Canon 200D. Can you recommend one ? I tried searching the net.. but couldn't find anything :(
Hey do you think you can make a tutorial or guide on doing this with a GH4?
How did you keep fresh battery in the camera and your slider, since it was 4 hours long. Did you have to stop and replace them
Powered over USB.
What did you use for the power source for your A7? Thanks!
Isn't it the 500 rule not the 600 rule? I could be wrong!
2 years late but this rule depends on the resolution of the image... the 600 rule is acceptable here because the pixel count of the sony a7s is pretty low, meaning the trails are less visible/take up less pixels
I just got the whole kit and have some experience doing static timelapses, but I am getting ready to shoot some waterfalls and night stars and fun stuff. How can I go about the focus? How open was your iris for this timelapse and what did you focus on? 2.8?
Two options for focus. Either get there when there is enough daylight so your AF can lock onto a far away objet, then switch to manual focus before commencing the sequence so the camera won't focus hunt in the dark. Or if you will be arriving after dark, at some point during the day, auto focus onto the horizon, then switch to manual focus and put a bit of gaffer tape over the focus ring and the lens body to stop the focus ring getting moved or bumped in transit, There is a third way if you arrive in darkness especially with a waterfall and that is to take a powerful flashlight and point it at the the waterfall, the water will reflect enough light so your camera's AF can lock on, then switch to manual focus to stop it focus hunting again once you start shooting
How much minutes can you record video in you're dslr
Really nice video ! Love your products and will probably order one soon :)
Only thing about this video is that the Milky Way is off to the right and (almost) never in frame
definitely and it's still an amazing time-lapse ! I hope to go out shooting timelapses again soon too. they just won't have as much cool motion in them as yours ;)
Do you have video of the Milky Way rising from the west and rotate like a propeller to the east?
At last of the video what was the subject clouds ? Or water ? ?
I have canon 200D which can shoot a time lapse video in which i have to just set number of shots and other composition settings... Doi still need intervalometer..?
Did I miss aperture part? Just set up manual or shutter priority to let the cam determine aperture? If so what should the exposure meter be reading? 0?
Hi ya , Nice video . Will you please suggest us the “font” ? Cheers.
Best way to keep fog off the lens?
Even with 2 batteries. How did you get 4 hours from the A7Sii. I would be lucky to get 3 hours with 2 batteries.
Does it move during the exposure? if so..it would be blurred surely?
intrigued by the 'dew heater' - can you let us know a bit more please?

nice result! do you always have to set the Timelapse interval to the double of the shutter speed? is that giving us a better result if we stick to this rule?
Yes, exactly
Thanks.. jesus bless
What this font?
great, can i do it with a7rii or a6500? and which lens size do you use ?
Mohammed Al-Faraj you can do it with both. With the a7rii you have the advantage of a bigger sensor which in turn is better for night photography and you can set it at higher ISO without getting too much noise. I myself have taken shots with the a6000 and the images come out great. The drawback of the crop sensor is when you set at higher ISO, you introduce more noise to your image.
Also you want a fast wide lens, i use a sigma 16mm F1.4. Hopefully this answers your question. Happy shooting!
What about processing? What program and how do you edit each picture?
Use Adobe after effects for post processing the photograph and Adobe premiere pro for making a sequence of 24 photos / second so that you get the smooth timelapse sequence
I can't find "anything" setting for white balance..
What was your location? I want to take my mum out there for a vacation
Can I do this on my Nokia 3310?
51200 ISO? gees that's high even for the A7S
To carry lots of heavy and expensive equipment and then look for a boring rock on foreground ;) can simply add it in post to a shot from a tripod ;)
I've heard rule of 500 and rule of 600 is their a difference? Btw did he say 51,000 or 5,100? lol.. I've never seen a camera do 51,000
51,000 the a7s is incredible in low light
What font did you used man? :) thanks
1600 dollars....well I'll never be buying that :(
never say never
@MEDiAgamer yeah well i'm thinking I'll make one with an arduino and some crafty skill and time haha
moza is making a slypod at 499$ ;) dunno how it will fare with timelapse/battery longevity. theres always the smaller sliders from edelkrone and ifootage :) save up my friend. Also on reddit there are people making their DIY sliders if u wanna go the cheap route lol
Star Adventurer Mini (SAM) WiFi Astro Pack is a way better option, because you can bump the exposure time and stars will still be round, thanks to sidereal (and more) tracking capabilities. Of course, it hasn't translation move, but who cares? I just ordered mine and I can't wait to come! Excuse my english.
all that gear and you didn't even photograph image??!
Just a question, but what if the camera dies in the middle of the shoot? will the slider keep going??
Wish I could do on an iPhone 5s.
@Void Null no you can't
If i only had a $30,000 budget
You can easily do astrophotography with a beginner dslr under 500 bucks. So no 30.000 dollar budget required.
dude there are like 20 mosquitoes flying around you
beautiful , I love your vidéo, I have a TIMELAPSE chanel you can look 😉
😦
Why on earth are these sliders so much money? I mean come on, I checked the price on this one and it costs more than my camera. For something that slides a camera over time it should be a tenth of this price. madness.
Great tutorial, but the epic background music gets old fast.
thanks .. just a shame you completely missed the milky way in the shots
Id say this is a Hyperlapse, not a timelapse
lot of gear?what lot of gear....u r not shooting wedding
After all the planning and the tutorial, you didn't even manage to capture the milky way on your timelapse. It was all stars! Meh.
Shoot what? Is this about filming or photographing, those are two different things. Not gonna watch your whole video to find out what you're going to explain dude. Put that shit in de description or say it in the beginning.
