    Super cool! We've always loved using Rhino products. Can't wait to try this out. We need this for our travel videos.

    REALLY REALLY GOOD. The tip about darkskyfinder at the beginning was helpful, and your instructions were clear too. Thank you.

    Just did a milky way timelapse over the weekend in the Shenandoah Mountains. Remember to bring: a chair, bug spray, and a good flashlight.

    I'm excited and looking forward to getting a rhino kit!!!! But how did you guys mange the battery? How did it last for 4 hours or did you guys switch out the batters and if so how do you do so with the slider motion so it doesn't mess up the shoot. Does the slider stop and then starts where it left off ?

    Is there a way in the Rhino workflow to pre-program the speed arc yaw movement as it travels across the slider? Gaining accuracy of this speed would be good to get hyper lapses were the camera turns with the earth's rotation.

    How did you keep fresh battery in the camera and your slider, since it was 4 hours long. Did you have to stop and replace them

    Isn't it the 500 rule not the 600 rule? I could be wrong!

    • @CharlieRoth44
      @CharlieRoth44 5 років тому +3

      2 years late but this rule depends on the resolution of the image... the 600 rule is acceptable here because the pixel count of the sony a7s is pretty low, meaning the trails are less visible/take up less pixels

    I just got the whole kit and have some experience doing static timelapses, but I am getting ready to shoot some waterfalls and night stars and fun stuff. How can I go about the focus? How open was your iris for this timelapse and what did you focus on? 2.8?

    • @geraldberliner5260
      @geraldberliner5260 5 років тому +1

      Two options for focus. Either get there when there is enough daylight so your AF can lock onto a far away objet, then switch to manual focus before commencing the sequence so the camera won't focus hunt in the dark. Or if you will be arriving after dark, at some point during the day, auto focus onto the horizon, then switch to manual focus and put a bit of gaffer tape over the focus ring and the lens body to stop the focus ring getting moved or bumped in transit, There is a third way if you arrive in darkness especially with a waterfall and that is to take a powerful flashlight and point it at the the waterfall, the water will reflect enough light so your camera's AF can lock on, then switch to manual focus to stop it focus hunting again once you start shooting

    Did I miss aperture part? Just set up manual or shutter priority to let the cam determine aperture? If so what should the exposure meter be reading? 0?

    great, can i do it with a7rii or a6500? and which lens size do you use ?

    • @IronSaiyan7
      @IronSaiyan7 6 років тому

      Mohammed Al-Faraj you can do it with both. With the a7rii you have the advantage of a bigger sensor which in turn is better for night photography and you can set it at higher ISO without getting too much noise. I myself have taken shots with the a6000 and the images come out great. The drawback of the crop sensor is when you set at higher ISO, you introduce more noise to your image.
      Also you want a fast wide lens, i use a sigma 16mm F1.4. Hopefully this answers your question. Happy shooting!

    What about processing? What program and how do you edit each picture?

    • @theweekday8158
      @theweekday8158 4 роки тому

      Use Adobe after effects for post processing the photograph and Adobe premiere pro for making a sequence of 24 photos / second so that you get the smooth timelapse sequence

      Star Adventurer Mini (SAM) WiFi Astro Pack is a way better option, because you can bump the exposure time and stars will still be round, thanks to sidereal (and more) tracking capabilities. Of course, it hasn't translation move, but who cares? I just ordered mine and I can't wait to come! Excuse my english.

    Why on earth are these sliders so much money? I mean come on, I checked the price on this one and it costs more than my camera. For something that slides a camera over time it should be a tenth of this price. madness.
