I respect these people for trying to have some kind of workmanship, but the difference between this and good quality products, is that, the quality of the metal being used. They melted random pieces of aluminum laying around. A manufacturer tests and knows the exact elements needed to make a good quality product that will be durable and last. @@joshportie I don't know where you get your info from, but I've worked at local manufacturers in my town. They don't make garbage. They have very sophisticated machines and do in debt testing to ensure their products to not fail. Maybe some have cut corners on products that aren't dangerous, but big companies can afford to do the process correctly. Some of these products can have fatal affects if they fail.
They are making "pirates" replace parts. The brand is there because is part of the engine case. It's very common in poor countries find these kind of products, the average people can't afford an original part. so they have to buy these chip copies.
Since I'm a Jr toolmaker I would tell you to put that part to a cmm and find out of those diamentions work and secondly fit form and function has to be met this looks like to me just bandaid work .
@@rukus100821 and that's the difference between someone who has 'unlimited' resources (the over-privileged) and someone who must work with limited resources (the under-privileged). When a 'bandaid' solution is all that's available, it's what you use. Spend 1 year in an under-privileged community and gain greater understanding of your 'craft'. I have more respect for an 'amateur' who can resolve a problem using only what's available than for a 'professional' who can perform only if they have all the latest 'technology'.
@@rukus100821 I'm sure those people in the video are not stupid and understand perfectly that "the part must fit". I suspect the intent was simply to demonstrate the process of casting (detailed) items. Notwithstanding, if the latest technology is not available and it is imperative to have a particular object one must 'make do'. Generally speaking, those who have 'grown up' relying on the latest technology being available have no idea how to 'make do' - ie they don't understand and can't relate to 'the basics' of their 'craft'. The order of importance is function then fit then form - ie if it 'functions' as required while not 'fitting' perfectly and the 'form' is ugly, it serves the purpose.
Watching this brings back the time in Junior High School Shop Classes in the late 1970s when Skill Labor was still in high demand in the US, but nowadays skilled jobs in the US are outsourced.
Bill Clinton caused it. He also created the Bush era housing bubble. I worked in a sector that moved overseas when I was 20. My company had to try to be competitive, so they imported materials from 3rs world country's and our quality went to shit and we were still overpriced. These castings are trash, tons of impurities. But it's ok because it's cheap and we live in a throw away society.
Did exactly that at high school here in Argentina. I still have an alluminium turtle made of two pieces. Its not that hard to do, requires patience. I remember it kind of exploded once, when the sand was wet and suddenly evaporated as melt alluminium was being injected. We used thinner sand for the section closer to the piece. The wite powder is used to facilitate layers separation.
I wonder about the chemistry of the metal they feed too. Might not be the best for a sharper result. But I was honestly impressed with the whole process, having never seen it made start to finish by hand.

☝️☝️☝️that right thure! I took sheet metal fab instead but in same shop same teacher. Out shop teacher told us a story that 3 years prior some guys went into the melting room to chew some tobacco, this would have been around 2003, so they end up spitting into the form that they pour molten aluminum into, the next class some guys end up pouring into the form without checking it's 💯 dry, any small water droplets will cause molten aluminum to explode violently says he, anyway, it blows up and sprays all over the room and the guys, they end up getting 2nd and up to 3rd degree burns. In the same HS was walking away from our lunch room and the stairs that lead to a lower level had a little balcony type deal with a bench and ppl would constantly sit in the edge to "chill" or take photos, beyond the edge would be the drop to the lower level below which is a concrete slab, about 12-15' below, so no joke. So I just made my way down and I just passed a guy on top sitting on the edge, I make it about 30 feet down, this was between two buildings so echo was superb (In a bad way) I hear this THUD I turn around and I see people rushing, I heard this guys body hit the ground, it was like a hollow mass hitting a solid mass, a very unpleasant sound when you know what just happened, I see the guy breathing deep like he's dying and bleeding from the mouth, I leave shortly as everyone is gathered and teachers are there telling everyone to clear, later we hear "updates" on the guy but nothing certain, sometimes over the intercom, couple months later all the chatter about him is at zero now and no intercom mentions ever, I never saw the guy again and they never updated us for the for rest of the year, at that height I suspect he probably died. This is what I always advise people: There's a misconception that because you pay more at a main dealer, they know more about what they're doing or somehow have unearthly skills. Main dealers can only change 'like-for-like' and don't get the complicated jobs because everyone stays away due to the price. So their skills are very limited. As a business we've been prepared to pay the main dealer price sometimes when we've needed, but our experience has always been bad.
Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you'll definitely have eternal life. Your existence is proof that God is real. Consider this: A creation like you have a Creator. Only in the Bible does it mention that God is the Creator of mankind. God is the only one who can create your body, your organs, your features, your blood, and fingerprints. That is why nobody has the same finger prints nor DNA as you. YOU ARE UNIQUE THANKS TO OUR GOD, JESUS CHRIST! Have a great day!

I mean that IS why they also mix other metals into aluminum die casting on parts that will be exposed to high temperatures, to create a combined alloy that has a higher melting point than either of the two metals separately.

@@trueaussie9230 again in short i wont take the chance to replicate a part like this.
@@rukus100821
I'm sure those people in the video are not stupid and understand perfectly that "the part must fit".
People are people everywhere, good amount of skills right there, much respect.
Watching this brings back the time in Junior High School Shop Classes in the late 1970s when Skill Labor was still in high demand in the US, but nowadays skilled jobs in the US are outsourced.
They try, you gotta have harder to acquire skills.
Anything that's not skilled labor will be outsourced to robots and a.i. in a few years anyway.

Brought back memories of my highschool days also.

Imagine these guys in a state of the art facility in the states. They would be savants!
That's impressive. I've tried this before, and it isn't easy.
