Such an amazing cover by such a talented duo. Really did the song justice. So great to see Agnetha in the video. In my opinion, the most beautiful woman to have ever walked this earth.
@@Eleventhearlofmars Really? It would be the first best cover that came to my mind, would have to have a think maybe of something more obscure though. Not from Brighton

((Croatian-Serbian-English in Esperanto and Sanskrit) Ponekad nekog dugo željno iščekujemo, ali kad se trebamo naći s tom osobom osjetimo (osetimo) neku prazninu. Možda je to tema ove pjesme. Sometimes we eagerly wait for someone for along time, but when we need meet that person we feel some emptiness. Maybe that's the theme of this song.
A very Swedish combination of emotion and restraint haunt this number, and a exellent cover that in no way blemishes and sometimes enhances, almost as if both parties are singing the same song to each other, very cleaver
I have three ABBA favourites which I struggle to order: The Winner Takes It All, Thank You For The Music and this. I think this just edges it. So clever.
@@jameswest4692, on reflection, I think 'The Day Before You Came' is my favourite, just edging one I'd forgotten: 'Slipping Through My Fingers'. On the new album, 'Just A Notion' is classic ABBA. The vocals were recorded in 1978 but all the music was recorded for the album 'Voyage' in 2021.
A masterpiece of music .for me, personally ,I like to listen to music that seems to have meaning , a story ,and this does. It initiates emotions in me that can bring tears or happiness ,depending on my mood, but always joy. I love music that can do this. Those skilled people who can write music and do this have an amazing, almost indescribable talent of which I’m green with envy. and insanely jealous of , of which I proudly admit too.
Wonderful song and video. I always think though, how nice it would have been had the Abba lady smiled back to Neil Arthur right at the end. She smiled throughout!.
i like the way they sang it without taking the piss abba deserve that much people love them even if all the boring critics who don't like anything don't
Never imagined being like i wanna dance by listening to This song ! 80’s vibes ! I loveeeeeee it ! This is such kind of 80’ s italian song and at the same time like the french group : desireless! I love it so much 😍😍😍🤯😍
Whisper it... better than the original. And for years I thought he was singing "I have no sense of living without PAIN" .... (I know, it's "aim"). This used to be a song between me and someone special, also a fan of ABBA, so we'd send each other cards the day BEFORE the anniversary of our meeting. It lasted five years.
I vaguely remember some interview that Blancmange had done when 'Living on the ceiling' was climbing up the UK charts at the end of 1982 at the same time that Abba had released their 'First 10 Years' compilation which featured 2 new tracks 'The day before you came' and 'Under attack' that they had somehow got permission off of Abba to do their own version. It was only just over 18 months since the original release of 'The day before you came' that Blancmange had released their version in the summer of 1984 which had actually gone higher in the charts than the Abba original. Also Gemini covered the unreleased song 'Just like that' in 1986. I also wonder if Vince Clarke had got some inspiration of Blancmange's success to form Erasure later in the 1980's, nobody knows!!
I know...... Vince Clarke moved on from Depeche Mode. But he never really hit the peak with Erasure that Depeche mode still reach today. Such a handsome man Beautiful eyes Beautiful voice Wonderful artist I love Blancmange music. Great band of the great btitish New Wave. All songs are amazing. "Blind Vision" is a music masterpiece (especially club, 8min. version 🖤). Thanks for reading ;)
This is one of Abba’s most beautiful songs
There's many but this is sooo subtle and beautiful. Gives me goosebumps.
Neil and Stephen do it justice
And also their darkest and saddest. One of my favorites.
Covering ABBA material can be risky but they pull this off brilliantly. Love it !
Well ,hang on.....isn’t the sexy blonde one from ABBA in this video...????
@@LancasterSlim Yes, they interspersed their video with clips of the original ABBA video of this song.
@@LancasterSlim yes its Augnetha!it was her song originally!!!!
And Erasure covered on "Take a chance on me" was also very good and funny as hell :)
Erasure said hold my beer and released an entire album of ABBA covers
Abba must have loved this band to have allowed this cover and wow, what a result!
Brilliant version of a very underrated ABBA song
Such an amazing cover by such a talented duo. Really did the song justice. So great to see Agnetha in the video. In my opinion, the most beautiful woman to have ever walked this earth.
I agree!
you must not have seen many beautiful women in your life.
Well said Steve, she's gorgeous 👍❤️
Agnetha's look is worth the price of admission.
Steve Ridley you’ve never known Caterina Cocozza my friend but Agnetha is up there.
timeless song , gives me goosebumps , long live all 80`s based groups , a time never to be forgotten .
It's awesome and Agnetha is there!
Still loving this in August 2020. Who's with me?
It’s October, and I’m still here!
October here as well :)

a heartrob indeed he was
The best cover version of any song ever ,very definitely 👍👍👍👍
Laurence Gladwell: It's definitely one of them.
Always On My Mind
Pet Shop Boys was voted THE best cover version EVER in a UK poll. This is superb as well
@@paulbessant8182 who tf did they poll for that?? The town of Brighton? It’s goddamn awful.

Nice words
Still obsessed with this song in December 2021. Anyone else?!
It is amazing. I can never decide whose version I prefer. Probably Blancmange but both Abba and Blancmange's version are impeccable.
He's gorgeous xx
Another left hander!
Neil's beautifully shy smile at the end.
Absolutely bloody splendid. As another viewer said - always risky covering a recording that is close to perfection. Well done Blancmange. Rather good.
If you’re going to do a cover you’ve got to do it as good as this one.....excellent stuff.
Best ABBA song and best ABBA cover ever, Also, brilliant video
This song is one of my favourite ABBA favourites. A cover is hardly ever as good as the original, in my view this is one of the few exceptions
Aug 2021... anyone else still digging this?
The best cover version of any ABBA song definitely
Dont agree. They made a lot of very good songs 🐈⬛🐈🫂♥️
