I'd love a 40/80 for wheelin and touring and Darren has made a great start with this build. One day I might get rich and get a place with a decent shed, an 80 and a 45/47 cab and have at it with my angle grinder and stick welder.... For now, I go to clecs, I leave a little drool on there guards as I gork and dream. Then I get to re-live it thanks to Gabe and the Mr Landcruiser crew! P.S Sorry Darren I hope my drool didn't leave a stain mate.
Gabe, I don’t believe that you could swing a cat (of nine tails) in the space created via removal of the transmission tunnel in this vehicle😁. They are small BUT not that small. If you ever visit the old Melbourne Jail, I imagine that they still have an example on display. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
I got caught up in a mile long tailback getting off the motorway outside of Johannesburg one day. As I inched forward towards the traffic lights at the top of the off ramp I noticed a 40 Series had obviously lost its brakes and ploughed into the back of a VW Passat (Bora). Getting closer to the accident it looked like the VW had been halved in size. The bootlock on the VW was literally up against the front seats. Not a scratch on the LC except for the old metal front bumper, which had been bent forwards on one side at an angle of about a 40 degrees. As I drew up along side the vehicles I noticed a farmer looking bloke, looking all forlorn, standing next to the cruiser. Taking it for granted that He was the driver of the 40 Series, I asked him through my open window, how He'd managed to bend the bumper forwards? To which he explained he'd done that while reversing back, in low range, to untangle himself from the VW. 🤣
Beautiful build. Superb planning by Darren.
I like the Ampol shirt and the Sandy Taupe Engine Bay. Good on him for having a go !
I wish you all good health and prosperity in 2025 and beyond.
Well done Gabe 🐐 what a rig 👏

Us Americans got the crappy end of the stick when it comes to most of the amazing Toyota 4x4s
😎👌🏾
The Toyota babge on the radiator grill is off-putting on a forty series.
