Quick easy recipe. Thanks for sharing my son is going love this. 😋
Finally! I found a vegan-based Jamaican cooking channel . 😔😔😁I have a Jamaican background, and turning vegan, so I could use the inspiration. I don't want to give up my favorite traditional foods just because I will give up meat. Thank you so much for this video and channel. ❤❤☺
You’re welcome and thank you! I hope my channel will be a blessing to you. All the best on your Plantbased journey and don’t hesitate to ask question.
I'm transitioning too to plant based...also from Jamaica so I'm happy for I found this too
@@patwilliams5608That is good. We can do it! Nice to know there is a good supportive community, here on this platform.❤👍
You can try Jamrock Vegan too for ideas.
@@coreen_royalty Thank you. ❤
Love this recipe! I made it in 30 minutes. The sauce really is the major flavor in the dish. Be careful when tossing your tofu in the bag. Mine got stuck in the bag which made it difficult to pull them out with tongs. A spicy bbq sauce is my preference. I cannot wait to make another one of your recipes!!
Your accent is so nice to listen to
Thank you 😄
This is delicious! I followed the recipe exactly (minus the sesame seeds) and it turned out terrifically!!

You’re welcome
Nice job! Thank you 😊
I made this yesterday and it was good! I used firm tofu instead of extra firm but it was still good. Next time I'll go with the extra firm but I didn't have any issues with breaking apart or anything and I didn't mind the softer texture.
🔥🔥🔥Breda up
Definitely doing this weekend...plus with all the tips u gave me for tofu fingers cross
Great! I have faith in you and with the tips your tofu will come out as expected.

I don't have cornstarch, is it okay to use flour instead?
Is there a lower carb option for the cornstarch?
Honestly, you can do without the cornstarch. You can just season and fry the tofu then add the bbq sauce. However, the cornstarch makes it crispier. In terms of low carb you can try coconut flour. Other corn starch substitute are : rice flour, arrowroot powder and tapioca flour.
Would this work with longer strips and the chickpea tofu?
I personally never had chickpea tofu this way, so apart from a slight difference in the texture it should work.
Can I replace the corn starch with flour ?
Sure, the flour works as well. You can use self rising flour to achieve a crispier tofu, but be careful when adding the seasoning since the self rising has salt.
What can I use if I don’t have any natural seasoning. Like is there a certain seasoning I can use? Like onion powder or chili powder.
@Nikki Arianna You can use any another all purpose seasoning and yes you can also use onion/ garlic powder and the chili powder/ smoke paprika.
🇯🇲 Authentic Plantbased Eats ok thank you!!!
Trust and believe u bad like Wow...Is who teach u to cook Mek u bad suh girl?!? What's that sauce u used? This look real real good!
😄 thank you so much! Growing up I was a foodie and still is, so even before I started cooking I was always in kitchen watching my mother cook. Fast forward to when I switch to a Plantbased lifestyle I simply used the knowledge I know and add my own twist. So a lot of practicing and experimenting (always room for improvement).
I used Barbecue sauce. Thanks again, I appreciate it! Bless!
@@AuthenticPlantbasedEats Well job well done my dear..You need alot more Subscribers , I wish I could subscribe a million more time -you need the recognition, you're worth it👍
Thank you! In due time that will happen. I’m just taking it one step at a time for now. I truly appreciate your support🙏🏾.
How would this work with cauliflower or broccoli or potatoes?
@Mary Rhudy You can do the same with the cauliflower. I’m not quite sure about the broccoli or potatoes.
Can I do without the cornstarch?
@Nicole Johnson The cornstarch makes it crispier but you can omit it.
Can you use flour?
You can but it’s not going to be as crispy. My suggestion is that you season and fry the tofu without the flour/cornstarch then add bbq sauce.
I would really appreciate it if you show measurements.
The ingredients are listed in the description
Mine did not come out like that. I used an organic tofu 🥺
Which did you use( soft, firm extra firm or super firm?)
Thanks girlfriend
Bummer I don’t have cornStarch 😭
The cornstarch makes it crispier but you can omit it.
No measurement
Hi! The measurements are now in the description.
Looks delicious. But please try not use paper towel, plastic bags or any other one time use products, when you can easily use other stuff that don't go trash. We are trashing this beautiful planet we call home. It takes tons of water to produce paper products. Like 3 gallons for making one piece of copy paper!!! You can use regular towel to dry the tofu, and just use a bowl to coat them.
