    Gotta love how they completely skimmed over the Siberian Traps, home to the biggest volcanic event this planet has ever seen and caused the largest extinction event in history (The Permian Extinction) . Why this matters is because the cause of the Flood Basalt that lead to that extinction has never been established as there doesn't seem to be any evidence of a mantle plume which suggests another cause. If gas build-up under the surface is the trigger for those eruptions then that has terrifying implications.

    The fact that ancient viruses 🦠 can actually come back to life and reproducing after millennia of being in permafrost..... That is a nightmare I didn't want to learn was actually biologically possible..... This goes to show just how many dangers there are when the planets climate changes drastically....

  • @christinehede7578
    @christinehede7578 3 роки тому +8

    You do realise that if there are dead animals, plants and viruses beneath the "permafrost" it means the permafrost is not all that permanent. It means that area has not always been several feet or meters under ice. In other words the area suffered a cooling climate change in the past and is now reverting to that previous climate.

Meteors mostly burn-up entering the atmosphere and do so every minute of the day. These astronomical micro-bombardments are totally irrelevant to the much larger threat of global warming, with the subsequent and ONGOING *thawing* of the tundra and permafrosts, which in turn are releasing unwanted amounts of greenhouse-gasses direct to atmosphere, thus becoming a self-reinforcing feedback loop.

    Oh and in Siberia, there is a Prehistoric crime scene that's remained there for 252 Million Years. The Siberian Traps is what it is referred to and managed to be a Mass Extinction that made the dinosaurs look like a cake walk, yet managed to help them rise as the dominant animal. The extinct was caused due to a flood basalt eruption 4,000× worse then Yellowstone. In turn released high portions of Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, and Methane which soon heated the atmosphere and global temp by 15°C which is way worse then you think. It made waters acidic and deoxygenated killing 96% of Marine life and 75% of Terrestrial Life. Be glad these happen ever 100 or so million years, because I do not want to be around if something like the Siberian Traps occurs again.
