I have been wanting to play this game for such a long time and I had a blast and am now begging for a modern fate fighting game but for now I emulated the ps2 jp version of fate unlimited codes and tackled it enjoy the videos guys!
Well here we are with another rate the supers haha a bunch of people wanted me to rate these so here I am with my personal ratings for the Fate/Grand Order Arcade Game Noble Phantasms! This game is not out in the US and its constantly being updated so there might be more out there in the future. Enjoy the vid guys I might do other games that are not super popular or are anime haha

The fact that the music change to Emiya when you got the 6th chant was what it all worth it.
The overwriting of the bgm is to say that it's EMIYA's time is so cathartic. And since the chants stay with each round, the super is built like a final round finisher that you painstakingly devote meter and time to achieve.
@@charlesg213 Chants also acts as a cancel since it resets Archer's position iirc, so you can do a combo, do a chant, and then immediately go into another combo.

one of the Sickest things to see with Archer is that you can actually be able to pull off "UBW combos" where you get the whole chants during the combo and ended with the Grail Super

There's actually a few more hidden supers!
- Saber has a second super she can use during activation, which allows her to use Avalon as a counterattack.
- If Bazett has the Grail and the enemy attempts to use a Noble Phantasm, she can press L+M+H to activate Fragarach and interrupt them. This has a special interaction with Cu's Gae Bolg, as Fragarach fails to cancel its activation and they both strike each other at the same time.

When Bazett is in grail mode you can use Fragarach to counter enemy supers, and if you do this to counter regular Gae Bolg supers you actually get a double KO (referencing Hollow Ataraxia)

The fact you have to do the entire chant, it changes the battlefield, it changes the music. Archer has the best super in fighting game history
and the fact that the music sticks until the battle is over makes it cooler
if he's this excited for sakura's super ...he should see kiara's noble phantasm in CCC.

So the funny part is that Gil's "regular" super is actually how he killed Berserker in the visual novel. Gil only uses Ea for special occasions.
Fate/Unlimited Codes seems to have Gil treat fighting fellow demigods as a special occasion, since he does the special Ea grail super on both Heracles AND Cuchulain.
@@NeutralDrow I think this has to do with the first anime series where Gilgamesh actually uses Enkidu to bind Lancer and then murder him. Remember when this game was made, while not a hot new thing (that's Fate/Zero) the original anime was still rather fresh.
@@willyvereb Yeah, he used Enkidu, but he didn't finish off either of them with Ea (unless it was off-screen on Lancer, but I thought the implication was he got Gate of Babylon'd; Berserker died to proto-Gae Bolg after shattering Enkidu). Before Fate/Hollow and Fate/Zero, Gil only ever pulled Ea out against Saber in Fate and Shirou in UBW.
So Archer's super setup is like Pucci's in ASB.
I like it.
It adds another move after activation, where Archer rains 3 weapons down in front of him that has no scaling. With this move and the finisher, he can easily score 11k+ damage.

While some of them could have been better, like having a little more impact and flair for example, I can't help but have a bias towards them. At least for me, they just strike a good balance between being flashy and being quick to the point. Not to mention how a lot of them are straight up references to various moments in the source material.
While it's not a grail super, my favorite one is still Bazett's Fragarach counter on Lancer's Gae Bolg super (the aerial throwing one in particular) just for the moment it recreates.
FYI there is a reference super for Bazzett and Lancer Cu due to both their attacks never missing.

I honestly wish they integrated similar mechanics in other fighting games with what they did here with Archer. Its alot of build up and an okay pay off. If a game was balanced enough and made something like this with a better end result It would be so fun to do do especially with multiple characters whether the characters chant, change forms, change their combat style etc and at some point change the landscape and you get some neat ass bgm unique to each set up fuck man it would feel great.
Pucci from All Star Battle has a very similar mechanic.
Happy to see the game that was my introduction to Fate so long ago get some renewed attention! And hearing this game's remixes of "Mighty Wind" and "Emiya" again, man...
Never did occur to me how a few characters have cooler level 1's than level 3s. Mainly Sakura's "Angra Mainyu Death Hump," Lancer's basic heart stab, and Saber's Avalon.
The build up for Emiya's super feels so satisfying! And the payoff doesn't disappoint with that music!

I would bump Saber up two points. First because activating the mana burst+Holy Grail changes the background music to "Sword of Promised Victory". Second point because, if used as a finisher, it utterly obliterates the opponent, no body falls back down nonsense.

This game has this weird thing in that most of normal supers feel cooler and more cinematic than grail supers, at least in my opinion

I'm pretty sure that the Morgan part was added for Grand Order specifically, much like how they modified her from Arturia into Altria
What's beautiful in this game's supers and ex moves is that the game combines all three routes of the original game, and gives characters their movesets (like how Sakura's fashion police squad is what her endgame minions look like that Rin needs the Jeweled Sword Zelretch (yes, it's a 'sword' according to the lore) for, which Rin conveniently has as her strongest move ingame)
love the face you made with Sakura's regular super, it's like you felt how it represents her lust for more and more magic in her route, because let's face it, they made it clear what its supposed to look like, and they didn't sugarcoat it (just censored it a bit witha pool of evil)
too bad lancer's ex looks like crap, there was (dunno if it still exists) a fan game, that was also a 3D fighting game, THEY handled the throwing spear version of the Noble Phantasm EONS better
gotta love how Shirou's four special moves represent the three routes of the game (caliburn from fate, kanshou and bakuya from ubw, and nine lives from heaven's feel, + the dagger finisher from fate route if he uses nine lives against kirei which he used in the VN too)
kirei's regular super tho, looks better I believe, less pale colors compared to the barely red in his ex move, maybe a brighter red like S.Alter's red would've made it look better, who knows
but I believe we all share the same reaction to first seeing gil's super, I personally back in the day I never managed to pull it off, let alone both versions, even though i tried my best x'D
Leysritt's regular super is much better than her Grail super. Just much more satisfying.
Archer (Emiya) has the best super in the game. No questions ask.
I actually think BASAKA's grail super deserves a higher rating only because when you KO out of the super, you get to see the oponent's pain expression in slowmo as the KO screen pops up lol

Shirou has his three-crane wing that activates if the enemy blocks it. Canonically, he only ever used it on Salter. Its also one of the most famous bad ends.
If you want a very cinematic super, have Bazett do Answerer to counter Lancers Gae Bolg. Then you get a super of the two supers literally going around one another and giving both a hole in their chest
This game doesn't do Bazetts any justice, her ability functions sort of like king crimson, whenever an opponent uses their ultimate attack on her, the balls function by rewinding time and recreate reality so that they impale their target through the heart at the beginning of of their attack essentially the ultimate counter move.
From what I recall, they actually do that in game. If you input the command for her normal super while someone else is doing theirs, yours goes off first (unless it's Cu).

The best part of Archer "Grial Super" is that is not a Grial super at all.
You don' need to have the grial blessing on your side. Just your 6 chants and the 300% MP bar.
You can still do it with the Grial just so your opponent can't do their own grial super.

UBW is worth it for how many times you need to put in the combo, especially how much damage you can dealt with it, and also.. EMIYA theme.

I like how Kotomine's Holy Grail Burst Super Move is actually a reference to Akuma's Raging Demon/Shun Goku Satsu, Kotomine has a demon flip move like Akuma too btw.

Just as gilgamesh final vs berseker, shirou vs kirei has a diferent animation in reference... also saber alter gets a 4 hit combo excalibur morgan into final.

Bazett, Luviagelta, Alter Saber and Zero Lancer would become staple in some Fate anime series after this game. Luviagelta in Prisma Illya was my favorite though.
The specific Gil vs Herc is weird as it makes even less canon with Ea being pulled on Herc which doesn't happen in the VN.

I hate how Hasan isn't in this game. Zero Lancer was unknown to like 80% of the Fate fans until they saw him in Fate Zero.

Edit also I didn’t even know Saber HAD a grail super it’s not in her move list on the Psp port
Gil and EMIYA are basically the only good ones the rest are pretty basic but EMIYA is like a 12/10 do to the build up and the song change

Well sure it's their NP they have in the show, but some moves based on the matchup will be exact references to things that happen (Shirou vs Kirei he stabs him with the knife from the end of Fate route) stuff like that would be considered a reference moreso than someone just using their NP

It kind of sounds like you expected something more than a beatdown super from Berserker, technically he's not even supposed to be able to perform that because of his madness enhancement.
