An audience member's recollection:
Very special concert for the following (among other) reasons:
(i) KVN does not allow distractions such as change of room at the last minute, a spartan stage (a blanket thrown on the floor at the last minute), problems with audio set up in the early part of the concert etc. to affect his concentration
(ii) Without saying anything at all and purely through the language of music, KVN makes a one to one connection with every one in the small but attentive audience; audience gets to take home a moving experience etched forever in their memory - hope the fans listening to the recording can experience it also
(iii) Extra-ordinarily beautiful Khamas as the crown jewel in a uniformly A+ performance
(iv) Outstanding support by Nagai Murali and Vellore Ramabhadran demonstrating how to support the main artist to construct/execute a performance without interfering or upstaging.
A very special listening experience and lots of lessons for students of music.
he is a master in niraval what a beauty.....no words...🙏 just flowing the raga....🙏
KVN at his best. Pure music sans gimmicks. Violin by Nagai is pleasing. Ramabadran unobtrusive as ever on his mridangam with his soft playing. Thani avarthanam at the end is excellent full of sunadha.
What a marvelous voice and presentation - we miss him today>
What a melodious voice? I had the opportunity of learning in Adyar music colleage for a short period from KVN which I can't forget
What a Khamas! KVN’s music permeates into your soul. The hall mark of KVN’s music is the ‘sowkkiyam’ aspect. Humble pranams to the noble soul. Fabulous support by Nagar Muralidharan and Vellore Ramabhadran.🙏
Pure bliss! ahaa! What an alapana! When I am going to listen to the Kriti! Alapana is going in loop.
Khamas, is just flowing like a breeze, gentle, but impacting - touching, but engulfing - stable like a stone, but soft as velvet - teasing, but stable - And that phrase at 5:20 - beautiful
This is an example of easthetics described by Anandavardana.
His body language is so pleasing to look at.
Agreed Sudarshan. You have said it. I hope we get to hear more such treats.
Wonderful alapana. And a detailed, unhurried kriti full of his trademark sowkhyam.
The master conducting a masterclass in a classroom!
@@jaganshri Couldn't have said it better!!
Khanas raaga devi stand in front of him 🙏🙏🙏
Simply SUPERB !!
I always used to attend KVN's Live concerts in Bangalore.Very steady and no unnecessary gimmicks.Very nice challenge to accompanists.Music flowing is very soothing.Great accompaniment by Nagai Sir and the soft Specialist Vellore Ramabhadran
Excellent. Thanks for sharing. What a voice.
Absolute bliss!!! Lord Srirama has no other way but to descend on the earth and answer Sadguru Mysore Vasudevachar's pleadings and yearning. Perhaps the composer had only KVN sir in his mind when he composed the song in Khamas.
Such measured music right from the Alapana to neraval, swara prasthara. The embellishments simply superb. Only KVN sir could have done justice to the composition. And the manodharma. Exotic.
Vellore's subtle but firm strokes added lustre to the entire concert. Very satisfying experience.
Thanks for posting.
This is the best Kamach I have heard. So soothing ,melodious and divine. I have no doubt Lord Rama would have been very much pleased with KVN's extraordinary rendering of this kriti.
Very special concert indeed with an informal ambience.
Wow! KVN magic at work. Sheer bliss. Thanks for uploading this piece.
What to say.the purpose of music was KVN.
