@@AsteroSloth Yeah? Doesn't mean they don't care about the series more. Especially with Jak who's own people dev team at Naughty Dog wishes they were making another game.
Because the developers that made Jak and Daxter had already left so no longer they would make the series ever again.

The yellow sage should have had his own hut/ village and environment around it. I hope they can flesh out the full world that was in the Jak and Daxter design bible.

Man I am also hardcore fangirling. That Precursor structure looks like it's modeled after the spaceship at the end of Jak 3, looks like a nice nod from the creator. This is some amazing stuff, truly. It's nice to see that my favorite video game franchise still lives

5:52 it’s like the precursor rooms or whatever from Jak 3, at least it looks like it. It especially looks like the place where you learn Daxter is a precursor.
That precursor structure was the rocket ship from Jak 3's ending.
Jak and Daxter made a cameo in Rift Apart, maybe Insomniac can handle a new game, after all Insomniac and Naughty Dog always have been on good terms since when they were working under Universal, so it's not something unrealistic

if Insomniac did not have their hands full with spider-man would it be absolutely fantastic if they could make an official sequel to jak 3 or maybe even upscaled the daxter game to a full fletched console game to go alongside hd remakes of jak 1-3
Custom Jak 3 content would be absolute bliss. Imagine summoning massive purple lightning storms with Dark Jak and having open-ended flight mode with Light Jak.
This is so cool. What’s even more exciting is that if AI ever gets to a good enough point, we can input samples from the original game and if could generate pretty accurate audio for custom voice lines or even cutscenes

Just imagine the love this franchise gets from the fans... fans that are actually continuing the game, creating new levels and hopefully, in a few years, new games ❤️ it's a shame that the developers decided to not continue
Man I would love that the Jak and Daxter community became like the GTA SA community that makes a lot of mods really fun weird and specially graphics mod like imagine that Jak and Daxter fan makes a graphics mod like a remastered version for the PC port that would be really awesome 😍😍

I want to see a game movie of all the cutscenes with Jak and Gol's models swapped along with Maia and Keira, with everyone saying the names matching the characters.

Dunno if you've read my comment(s) on your other recent videos as of this date, seeing as you've talked about many of my own thoughts and observations. Frankly, I'm just glad there are others who share my perspective :-)
Some notes I made along the way:
- Programming: People are still discovering secrets hidden in the data files. For example; people have discovered a deleted cutscene featuring Gol and Maia somewhere between Sandover and Rock village, where they discuss their plans for the other sages.
- 15:00 This was a genuine treat. The game/product rewards you for exploring, instead of today's hallways and instant gratification (yeah yeah, I'm old and biased). I hope the developer(s) for these projects keep this 'inter-connectivity' in mind going forward (with whatever they do).
- The reason I point this out in particular is because I got major KH1 Traverse Town vibes - especially in regards to multiple areas sharing pathways (hence inter-connectivity). It's a level design I've yearned for a long time in sandbox and open-world games...
15:40 Maybe the OG creators of Naughty Dog could go freelance and hire + train those within the community to handle the programming?
- Fun fact: the OG creators made ND by their experience of hacking arcade games and PCs. No wonder the coding for the Jak games is as mind-blowing as they are... They're legalized HACKS!

I would definitely love to see Jak 3 make more use of its open world, have more stuff to do in the deserts and Haven.
I was always bummed with the direction they took with Jak 2 and 3. The original Jak and Daxter is such a perfect vibe. Seeing someone bring a proper Jak and Daxter 2 to life is magical. Genuine well thought out level design, original assets that fit the theme, I love it. I hope they can get a team together cuz this is an insane amount of work for one person.
This was awesome. Really wish Sony would put this IP to use.

does anyone know if it's legal to make the levels that weren't made for jak and daxter precursor legacy (so the levels shown in the design bible or just other concept art) i wanna start making it but I'm a little scared it might get taken down by naughty dog probably not the best place to ask but seein as though someone has uploaded a custom level i'm now more than ever excited to start making my mod as long as it's legal or i'm allowed to do so and also if it's being worked on already

Awesome work on creating a new custom level for Jack and Daxter. I hope you can create custom worlds for the first 3 mainline KH games.
I really wish there was a way to see a connection in the jak 1 landscape with the jak 2&3 landscape such as what Mar built and how the land changed.

This brings me back! It's not too long ago i went back to go and 110% this game again. I LOVED this game to the max and to see somebody giving it more love - is just *chefs kiss* looking forward to any updates on this!

This game was SO ahead of its time and even tho the following lineup in the trilogy was so different (and IMO great as a direction and mashup of platforming-ish and GTA-ish elements) it also cements the OG Jak and Daxter as a true paragon of the PS2 era.
I wouldn’t be the person I am if it wasn’t for this being my first game to compete myself. The idea of new levels being made for J&D, and let’s be honest here… by the mega fans… is fucking awesome.

More love than Naughty Dog. I’m waiting for Insomniac to make a new Jak & Dexter game.
I wonder if since this was possible we could ever get ps2-era ratchet PC ports, since naughty dog gave insomniac the rendering tech and someone at insomniac took it and translated it into a more popular coding language and they traded this stuff back and forward.
I do know the ps2 ratchet games are kinda held together with tape though, ESPECIALLY UYA
I am really invested in this. Maybe in the future we get fanmade Jak games sequels to Jak X (sorry TLF, you are not canon), made in Jak 2 or 3 as mods. Would be really cool I cannot wait to see what comes of this. Maybe even people could make What Ifs about if Jak 2 and 3 never happened if Jak and the gang never went to the future, if the time loop didn't exist and it was just the original world.
Honestly the way Insomniac has brought Ratchet and Clank up to the PS5 era, and the love they continue to show the Jak games with Easter eggs in Rift Apart, I’d be thrilled if they were given the rights to revive the series. The models they made for Jak just for the Easter eggs just make me want to see a true remaster of the series on ps5 even more.
And they should bring in Kuitar to do more work like this!

GGs I fell all the time! 😂 jak 3 light eco was OP and when that was a thing for the first time in that era I was like holy shiiii, then I did the tap X 3x and then the over shield O x1 and I’d infinitely fly everywhere ima cry my self to sleep.
Its such great work!!! Im ashamed to say i sat down and drew up ideas for stilted village its connections, yellow sages hut, progressive level growth, waterfall cave, (like in this vi d) for those who dont know in the original world design the yellow sages village included waterfal cave and if i remember correvtly the lava area, until it was cut for time related reasons. If we could insert and potentially move lava tube to that zone, and insert some kind of long platforming traversed section between red and yellow sages area, thatd be such great closure for fans who feel as though they missed out.
I remember as a kid having a ceremony when jak3 came out at the video store. Amazing to see the content
Let me just throw my 2 cents in. Jak & Daxter is 1,000,000 times cooler than Uncharted or the Last of Us will ever be.

They didn’t move on. Have you played the last ratchet and clank ‘rift apart’.. the secret vaults only ratchet can open basically says that the only place they were able to go was the same dimension as Jak and daxter.. trust me it’s still coming
I'm there whit ya a new jak game would be great and I would love to see sly come back sly cooper jak and ratchet were big part of my childhood all three of them played a huge part in my life although if I have to pick one as my number one I'd have to say sly cooper has it it was my first PS2 game

The question remains, would it be possible to add power cells into Jak 2 and if not would it be possible to mod the flag you pick up in dead town into a collectable since Jak already has a song and animation for picking it up?
Man I want new jak games so bad. I wanna see if someone can take the story and tie it up and answer some of the unanswered questions but I really don't want it at the expense of someone using the platform to push politics. That's what scares me more than never getting another game.

This is exactly what I was hoping with the other Jak and Daxter games after precursor legacy, new areas, new power cell quests and hopefully new boss fights because the precursor legacy had solid boss fights.
And considering that this game is my favourite of all time I will totally no life the crap out of the custom levels, thank you for sharing this wonderful news 😎🎉👍🏻🔥🥳
I've been saying for years now that I think they should bring the Jak series back. Even if it's a reboot.
If anyone ever does, I would LOVE to come on as a character/concept designer for them.
That being said, this is a neat CC for Jak and Daxter. Unfortunately, I won't be able to play it since I'm a console player, but I'll def try to watch people who are playing them and give props to the creators of the mods.
LOVED Jak n Daxter... If there was some sort of reboot, remaster or continuation then I would definitely play ^-^
I would hope not a reboot. Some have been calling for that because they want it closer to the original Jak and Daxter than the following games, but at this point the series' identity is that of Jak 2 and 3. Maybe going to the past again would be cool but I want it to still be within the current series, Jak is still Jak, as in edgy gonna kill Praxis Jak, but maybe goes back in time for whatever reason idk.
Idk how they would do him going back unless it was before kid Jak and Samos went to the past, or if it was after he left, so he doesn't encounter himself. Him encountering his child self isn't much of an issue but him encountering himself after that would break the timeline.
