It fits this non-canonical story line, but falls apart when you give it any real thought. I mean, really, how many times have the turtles bled all over NYC? Casey has had Raph's blood on him numerous times. Buuuuuut, let's not let all that ruin a good read.
It is my favorite Mirage story, it's very good and hits a real sweet spot, Bloodsucker is so intimidating and Rick art is top tier for this book. I was very disappointed to learn it will never be reprinted.
it wouldve been awesome if they adpted this into the 2003 show, escpecailly since they already established an aniciant civilisation simalar to what the old man river described.
3:51 I just googled if lleches have eyes, just for fun. Turns out they do have multible pairs of small eyes, positionet in way not unlike our friend bloodsucker here.
Could legal rights be the same reason for some mirage issues like Tmnt vol 2. #45 the return of leatherlead? I’m trying to find that issue in color but no luck. Love your videos by the way! Keep the old school turtle history coming. I’m here for it!
TMNT Vol. 1 #45 has been collected in color in "TMNT classics Volume 7" (2013). Other Mirage stories do have legal rights issues, but mostly from the the guest era.
I've read this story before Mutant Mayhem came out. And when I saw the milking scene in the movie, I was so scared that the boys would revert back to normal turtles 😱 But I was wrong, looks like in the new universe the mutagen becomes one with the blood of the victim 🤔 At last, the Creep: you're right, you should do a story about that 😅
Well, the thing is that just losing blood doesn't necessarily mean they will demutate. It was the Old Man River that was causing that. Otherwise, the Turtles would have ran into this problem earlier, considering their sharp weapons. Or at least, that's my understanding from this story.
@@Thetruthbehindsciencefiction To be fair, it's not crystal clear how the ooze works in this story. But what the old man said at least seems to imply that.
*Hey, **#TheTurtleNexus**, could you please create videos on TMNT characters such as mutants Alopex, Overdrive, and Fly Borg, as well as classic TMNT villains such as the mutant hunter Simon Bonesteel, Dr.Cornelious Quease and Silver the mutant gorilla gangster / mob boss making a possible comeback in future Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles projects in the future?* 😉 That would be pretty awesome!* 🤗

Thanks for watching!
What do you think about Splinter's ooze theory?

This is such a good breakdown and analysis of one of favorite tmnt stories.

@TheTurtleNexus Thanks for pointing that out, on my first watch I didn't get the full context of the story, my bad 😅

It’s hard to keep track of what’s canon and what not Canon in comic books
