Brand new is by far the best band. Ever. Lyrics sound growth everything from your fav weapon to daisy all great think of how much weve grown with them over the years. We all know any of their songs done acoustically is just icing on the cake too. Whoever doesnt listen to them regularly is missing out. So many songs to choose from. ALL AMAZING
It's great that during the recording of Modest Mouse actually writing this song, I believe in the late 90's, that they yelled Fakes, and almost ten years later, ...people are still yelling it.
Isaac would sing that at the end of the song during live performances for many years. I used to collect their live recordings so I'd say between 1999-2002 if I remember correctly. There is a version where he does it on youtube. search "modest mouse trailer trash newport kentucky"
There's also a version of the boy who blocked his own shot where he sings the chorus to trailer trash in place of the last chorus. it fits perfectly well if you sing it, as well as Yellow by Coldplay

@iknowme Before Trailer Trash was recorded on The Lonesome Crowded West, on more than one occasion Isaac morphed lines from his other songs into it. Supposedly there are recorded versions of it respectively as well.

@MikeGasm When I saw them they tried a lot of rearrangements, which I like to see at shows if it's done well, but they sounded sloppy. Especially Lacey, he was out of tune, off pitch and singing the lyrics differently. I get trying out new things and mixing it up for concerts, but if it sucks just stick to the album version. Maybe he was too drunk or having a bad night but Vendetta Red, who opened for them was the highlight of the evening. This was around '03 or '04.

Modest Mouse played this song quite a bit on the last tour. I really respect Jesse Lacey for the songs he covers, but most of the time I really don't like the way he does it. On the otherhand, his NMH covers are always great.
meh modest mouse version is better, this guy is a typical "ohh the girls love me when i do songs in acoustic", i mean i respect you covering MM, and its not that bad of a job, but Modest mouse def does it better, and i had to look this up after seeing some smhuck leaving a comment on a MM video of this saying this guy "made the song listenable" which really... he justs make more EMO-tional sounding, i really enjoy the Modest mouse version cause it has all the parts to it, not just the guitar
