- A tribute to legends.........
An emotional song............
The Lyrics for Somewhere by Runrig
Somewhere on the arc of ages
We are born, we cry
On this spinning orb of wonder
We love, we die
Still the moon and the stars will shine
When we've both had our time
Somewhere in the dark I'll find you
Somewhere in the light, I'll meet you there
Where immortal souls collide
Somewhere out there
Can't bear to leave this path of years
And the joys that it unfolds
Can all this just be ground to dust
Without meaning, resolve, untold
This love is gold, can't let it go
It's for all of time
Somewhere in the dark I'll find you
Somewhere in the light, I'll meet you there
Where immortal souls collide
Somewhere out there
Somewhere out there
On the arc of ages
On this orb of wonder
Where the light is growing
Where the sun goes under
I followed RunRig since 1980, and watched them in the Barrowlands a couple of times plus worked in theatres they played in, a nicer bunch of guys you could never meet, I'm just so sorry they have finished, I wish I could have been at their last concert
Found this story today, never knew the Laurel background, so beautiful, blue skies all x
I thought the version with Julie was brilliant but this is somehow, deeper..Well done Rory.
Great tribute to a very brave lady .
Lovely tribute thanks for posting love both versions
Laural passed away the day my daughter was born and her fav runrig track is running to the light she only discoverd the event as she wrote the band's history for a school project and noticed that the tradjidy happened on the day she was born somewhere on the arc of ages we are born we cry. Looking back through the timeline Kayla was born 2 mins after NASA lost comms with the shuttle
An interesting piece of news Scot. Thanks for the info and thanks to Kayla for writing about Runrig.
That's an amazing story! I'm not a believer in God and am fairly sceptical of most things but some thing in this life are beyond coincidence. Some things are fate. Great story - your daughter will never forget those connections!
Laural and here colleagues have there life to further our knowledge of space self will whither out of sight running to the light
The version featuring Julie is brilliant but I think that Rory delivers more depth.
An emotional and touching tribute, thanks for posting, sláinte mo chairde
Thanks 1runrig! This was amazing in London last week - started me off crying again. God bless Dr Clark and Runrig may they meet again 'Somewhere'.
A nice comment. Someone wants Running to the Light performed at the final concert in Stirling. Do you agree. If so please make another comment. Running to the Light followed by Somewhere would be something of a tribute i think.
YES totally agree- Runrig please play running to the Light followed by Somewhere!
What a fitting emd
Runrig best ever
Beautiful ❤️
Would be very fitting if Laurel's husband and son could be at Stirling.
Thank you for posting this!
While Bruce and Julie's version is brilliant, I think Rory's rendition is deeper and stronger.
Thanks for posting this touching tribute to both Laurel and Runrig. For me I prefer the Rory version but I'm guessing they have done the other version ready for the Last Dance gig's ? I have only just seen this tonight :D Teddy
And yes Running to the Light would be amazing :D
I was hoping they might play Running to the Light at Stirling. Doesn't look like it though.
I would like to hear it again live at the final concert too. If anyone agrees please make a comment on this video and i will pass them on to someone. Thanks.
As mush as am a fan and And 🏴 bad choice for me as mush as Stirling Castle is Beautiful they should have played than no better than bonnie Loch Lomond
