FA***FUCKING***TASTIC!!!!!!!!! Near perfect fidelity for year recorded coupled with an incredible selection of tunes!!!! A must listen FOR all TROWER FANS..... as THIS was the original line-up!
James Dewar what a voice, to me he will always be the most smoothest voice in Rock and Roll. RIP.
Heard this the night it was originally broadcast on KSAN. So fine and Daydream remains on of my favorite songs by anyone.
Thanks for sharing Carl, i recall your knowledgeable posts in the old Usenet guitar newsgroups 20+ years ago. Keep rocking
What More can be SAID, ROBIN TROWER IS ONE of GREATEST GUITARIST of ALL TIME, FANTASTIC SONG Writer. MUSICIAN.
Great comments and one of my all-time favorite groups !!!!!
One big influence on me and my highschool buds in bands. We played Thier tunes ,the live way, strong and full rockn sound!!!thank you Robin Thrower,James, rest in peace. Reg thanks also.
I was at this show - my buddy was an engineer at the Plant - never forget it!
Plus I just saw Robin at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz last Saturday - better than '73...
Tell your buddy he did a great job mixing this, it's nice to be able to hear everything so well. Most live performances are not well balanced and usually somewhat muffled. I guess you could call this a live studio performance.
Wtf I wz blessed with my meeting derick Keith deorgs the pride of Sacramento sorry Frank Tesla Gannon I vue you too bad ass. Why do a g come up it's. Not Gannon sorry dude just got alame keypad Derick and frossie and gritty boy /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\had Robin s music cover band and the guy can play with the boys doing Robin's music with Derek is memories unreal never met nobody else in the world who copy d. First time listening to R.T.,sounds great!!!!
RIP James Dewar
Best blues singer ever
Thanks to Tim Jaycox who turned me on to Robin Trower in Sophomore English class in 1973
Fan for life
I had this on vinyl when it was called Guitar Bandit..still great!
I bought “guitar bandit” in the 70’s. It still sits in my record collection. One of my favourite boots.
I bought this.. my very first bootleg as "guitar Bandit" I was blown away by the quality.. takrl..
i bought Guitar Bandit for $5
Always LOOKED the Part, TOO! Snappy, bespoke ROCKER DUDS (CUSTOM, of Course) Befitting an sporty & 'smart', ENGLISH- One-of-a-Kind, No Nonsense, No Holds Barred, ONE-OFF....Trailblazer of a ROCKER! Just what we Expected of our Rock Icons, and he ALWAYS DELIVERED!! And I for one...LOVED that about Him!! RARE FORM HERE, SO GLAD IT WAS CAPTURED, and THANKS LOADS for POSTING!!! Got MY Vote!
10 August 1973
Winterland, San Francisco, CA
Poco, Mark, Almond Band, Robin Trower, Notes: Also: David Blue. Saw this show best 3rd bill band I ever saw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic tone for a live performance.
Trower is my all-time favorite guitarist! I try to emulate his feel, tone, and subtlety. (But not note-for-note)
Thanks Carl. I got all of the cassette tapes from Steve S years ago but I have no idea where I put them, ; )
"HELL YES" I,m playing this every chance I can , """THANKS"
As good as it gets! I cherish this with all my heart and soul. Magnificent!! If I tap my heels together 3 times, will you let me go back to 1973?
Read my first novel and you will be transported to Yosemite on Aug. 10, 1973 (the day before this was recorded...my 18th birthday)
뼈속까지 블루스맨 우리시대 명인 끝없는 찬사를 그대에게
I had this live album in Sausalito, CA. It was a bootleg, but the sound quality was excellent. My friends all said, where did you get this. Great live LP ever!!
AWESOME!!!!
excellent !
had this!!
coloca-Los em tudo quanto é lojas e super mercados como eram antes.
já que O vinil está voltando, deviam relançar tudo de volta e até os não editados. flaviowa.
One of my favorite concerts, of the original line up so far. Pure Gold! Thanks for Posting! Great sound, set list, and cover art. Keep the 70s Trower stuff coming. Does anybody know, if there is any material, from the Truce/BLT years ~80-81 live, outtakes, b-sides, and/or rehearsals available?
Robin Trower may have learned a few things from Jimi but Robin is no way a "Jimi clone" He plays with such soul. James was equally as talented as lead singer and bassist.
Dewar made Trower better EARLY STUFF IS EXCELLENT
Robin playing a 6 minute "Daydream" to a crowd of 3 just ain't right!!!
It was a live radio show..
The audience applause sounds like it was whole 10 people. 31:53
TROWER LIKED SMALL CROWDS HIS BEST LIVE GIGS WERE DIVES
To all who claim he is ripping off Hendrix, go back and listen to Procol Harum's early releases. Trower was already going off into tonal expressions. Twice Removed was a stellar debut and rest of 70's was good to me and Robin Trower.
The original bootleg, called "Guitar Bandit", Robin gives thanks to Jimi for his inspiration.
anyone know why Robin NEVER plays "Jack and Jill" ? ... greatest mystery besides is there life elsewhere in the universe?
Either this was the worst live audience ever, or they were stunned into silence!
Great sounding recording.
How can this great band play for a lame crowd like this?
Soundboard recordings dont pick up the crowd good also it was an executives only type deal..
It was preformed to record for radio broadcast, not just for the lucky few in the studio.
One of whom posted on this vid!
Seems like you shouldn't be listening why don't anybody mention the vocals list
I wish the hi-hat was mixed lower! tch, tch, tch throughout every song. Almost as loud as the guitars!!
This live performance was recorded by and broadcast by KSAN-FM. It’s a bootleg album taken from pre-FM master reel. We’re lucky to have it to listen to and you’re complaining about a hat! Words fail me...
@@markielinhart originally "Guitar Bandit" bootleg TRKL-1939 & broadcast on KSAN IN 1973. I remember listening to it as a freshman in high school in the Bay Area. Excellent call!!!
Dude, drink less coffee lol. Just kidding (sorta). One of the odd benefits of playing and listening to so much loud rock music beginning a few years before this recording was made ….is that high hats and other higher frequencies no longer bother me much
