I always liked this episode because John was likeable. He wasn't preachy or sanctimonious. He wasn't pompous like Rivas the deaf negotiator, or a dick like the guy in Tin Man. He wasn't overly confident or creepy like the Traveler. He was just a friendly dude who was given terrible clothing.
I knew there was another Beverly medical skills joke coming for this one😆. I adored this episode tho it did lag a bit at times. It was interesting to me that the alien race had some powers (gagging the crew from afar) but resisted the notion that there were other potential powers to be had.
😆 another good review. Thank you for taking the time to put together real good material and cuts. It’s very enjoyable when I get the notification that you guys put up a new video. Good analysis and comments.
I figured the navigational device they studied was the basis for the bio-neural gel packs used on Voyager. Since they studied it and learned how it worked, they fabricated them for use with their own computers.
So Sunad had the ability to force choke everybody on the Enterprise? Was he trying to make Darth Vader jealous? Why would his species even need weapons if they can do that with their minds? John's glowing bodysuit transformation was goofy as hell, too. You can see the folds of cloth on his head and hear the fabric muffling his voice. Also, Worf should sue Starfleet for the unsafe working environment in their shuttle bays. There's no way that second-story waist-high guard rail was up to OHAS code. 🤣
Definite continuity problem with the Christy Henshaw and Geordi situation. Worf and Geordi talk like he's never had a date with her, so if this was after "Booby Trap", this wouldn't have happened. But even if this was chronologically first, Geordi would have been the more confident and capable version of himself, not Shy Geek Geordi.
If they have a choke-field generator I wonder what other weapons they have. Maybe roofie beams Rochambeau torpedoes. Imagine if these guys got assimilated by the Borg and the Borg went around choking everyone in the galaxy.
Ha good review, yes there's a lot of cheese in this episode. Although I do enjoy the feel-good episodes of Star Trek. There's a lot of grim & gritty or sarcasm to the nth degree in sci-fi and fantasy lately, so it's nice to see more uplifting plots on occasion. Also, this episode suggests one reason we don't routinely encounter civilizations that are thousands or millions of years more advanced than the Federation (which we should in a Galaxy filled with like thousands of aliens). Perhaps many have undergone this same sort of evolution or spiritual transformation to higher beings and then more or less leave the Galaxy (or at least don't interfere with lesser species).
I expected you guys to go off on the fact that Commander Sunad totally deus ex machina Force-choked everyone on the Enterprise and then nobody mentioned it. You have failed me.
Beverly contracted (3rd wave) feminist cancer from Tasha (look it up) and began unconsciously pressuring the production team for nuisance reasons. It caused fear in the directors etc forcing minute deviations from the hard script, and this translates into why her character sucks. This also partly explains some of the other stuff we see going on. ('Tasha') was creating hell on the set frequently bitching about "sexism" and other horseshit, and fomenting dissension in the ranks. This is why she died so suddenly at the hands of the mercifully timed Artemis).
An actual character portrayed by actual acting skills? Pff, we prefer blandness here. Less eccentric or less ""annoying "= more well written character in some peoples books it seems ^^
I give it a B for Bulge.
I'm surprised they didn't mention that part.
Impressive, yes, but Norman's from "I, Mudd" was better 😁
LOL

O'Brien will continue to dislocate his arm kayaking on the holodeck in that very 90's outfit on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
@7:19 Guy in the background taking a leak getting caught mid-stream.

Aaaaaaaand went to discard it as the dumb idea that it was..
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 The gel packs on Voyager says it was a good idea.

Luckily the next episode is one of the best of the series! Funny as usual guys!!
Matrix Translator? Red and Blue In-Vitro? OMG it's the Matrix!
Have seen in childhood glowing alien entity like that emerge from wall. This episode also inspired Kurau Phantom Memory
The were putting slushies in the drips 😂😅
Hungarian Dance No 5 is a pretty weird song to try to woo a girl with, Geordie

The Organians and Metrons from TOS would also support this idea
1:21 No it wouldn't. The brain has no paint receptors
She was the love interest in doc Hollywood I think Julie Warner
I love this series guys. Keep up the sterling commentary!
Another god-being episode....
5:46 Sunad? More like, See Nads.
I expected you guys to go off on the fact that Commander Sunad totally deus ex machina Force-choked everyone on the Enterprise and then nobody mentioned it. You have failed me.
1:16 Um actually, sticking something on an exposed brain wouldn't hurt because there's no pain receptors there, plus the guy's unconscious.
Lol! I don't know if I cared for this one more or less. So a C. Midway through the episode they lost me.
How is John dangerous?
He fixed O'bien's shoulder, brought Worf back to life, and gave Geordi the confidence to get laid, finally.
It is clear that these guys are young, because they didn't call the glowing man the Sylvania Lightbulb Man.
this is how evolution works... in pokemon ;)

Nice
Don't worry, there are far, far worse "evolving to god" episodes in the future.
this episode is C-. it lacked any real substance, just like the glowing guy. there were some parts I liked but mostly it was terrible.
7:23 I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Stupid episode indeed, I think Voyager did similar stupid shit. Not going to disagree with the rating.
I miss Doctor Pulaski. I really do.
Yeah, I thought I was the only person that prefers her to beverly.

Another Pulaski fan here!
As I always say another nonsense episode from star trek😂 Z minus from me
