- In this A-10C II Tank Killer video, we’ll introduce the primary features of this update and instruct on use of the AGM-65L laser-guided Maverick. A-10C II Tank Killer will be released by the end of September 2020.
For the first month after release, existing A-10C Warthog customers can update for just $9.99. After one month, the price will increase to $19.99. For those that don’t own A-10C Warthog, you’ll be able to purchase the complete A-10C II Tank Killer for $79.99.
A-10C II Tank Killer will have the following, primary features:
1- New weapons like the AGM-65L laser-Maverick, the GBU-54 laser-JDAM, and the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System laser-guided rocket.
2- The Helmet Mounted Cueing System, or HMCS.
3- Updated cockpit and external model graphics.
4- Improved flight dynamics
5- Updated HOTAS commands.
Following the initial release, we will also add the more modern ARC-210 radio. - Ігри
So happy to see the Hog getting some love, Was my first DCS module and always found myself coming back to it. Can't wait to see the HMCS In action!
And we can't wait for your extensive weapons tutorials, mr Kite:)
I wish I had the a10 but my joystick does not have enough butons to set all the controls. Its just sad.I also Dont have the space for it lmfao.I have so little space in my laptop tho..So little space i got when my laptop was here..about 200GB.Its just sad.I am thinking about getting rid of arma 3 so i can update dcs so i can actually play multyplayer.Just sad
Your British voice is like a sirens song to my stupid noob brain
Looks like I've got some more panels to do...
Hahahah. You love doing that stuff mate. We love watching your brilliance.
Haha
Being able to fire Mavericks from 10-9 miles out that quickly with that kind of precision is crazy. And the helmet mounted cuing system is going to be a game changer for situational awareness, especially at night.
Am I missing something but aren’t the other Mavericks still superior? No laser required, and fire and forget?
@@NickF08 If you are using a buddy lase, the LMAVS are nice and easy, shouldn't even need to use the pod.
paristo thanks for the response!
I wanted some sort of HMD for the A10 since 2012, this is gonna make me love it even more! :D
Another fine intro Video, Wags. I swear, these are the best DCS videos out there wrt clarity, brevity, and to the point instruction. The format is stellar with a review of the buttons on EVERY video to make sure we start from the same baseline as you do. As a well-seasoned military aviator, I find them very professional. TY for taking the time to produce these.
Just a big thank you! I cannot think of another team that supports a product with new stuff this many years after the release! So excited to try this out.
Amazing Wags & ED. Thank you for continuing to support the modules and provide upgrades at price points that reflect your commitment to community.
Time to warm up my brrrt hand again. HMCS alone is worth the upgrade! I can't wait
once you BRTTTT you can never go back
I second the JHMCS upgrade thoughts.... The A-10C was my first module, and I love it, but I've been saying for a while (even before they officially announced the upgrade), that I would happily pay (actually a fair bit more then the $9.99) for just that upgrade alone. The other jets need the ground attack aspects added to theirs as well (I'm specifically wanting the Hornet to get it), but I'm stoked just for the A-10C.
@@paristo yeah, I know it's already on the roadmap for the Hornet (actually when they did the poll a few months ago asking for input on priority, I put AG JHMCS right at the top (with AG radar, which we got already)), I guess I meant more that I'm looking forward to it with the other jets, but A-10C was most important to me personally...
Amen bro! This will be a game changer.
That upgraded HOTAS slew (TDC) on my TM Warthog is gonna dee a lot more use outside of the TGP.
Yes! Thank you so much for the $10 upgrade Matt and ED. We really appreciate it
Dude i actually hate it. Like you pay so much for one aircraft and they say "pay money if you want your aircraft to get updates" like bruh
They already did the free cockpit update. This is one of the oldest modules in DCS, so it’s framework was becoming dated. This new A-10C II is almost an entirely new aircraft with the new systems, textures, and flight model. There’s a ton of work that goes into creating all that, so $10 is not a big ask for such a massive upgrade.
@@wokkus5610 yeah i guess thats fair with it being 80 if you dont own it already
It's fantastic. Ironically, I only paid £7.50 for the original A-10C back in the days of crazy sales, so the update will cost me more than the aircraft! Given the hours of entertainment it has brought, I feel I actually owe ED some extra money on this module ;-)
Jonas McClain To be fair they are not adding little features. And for the people who own the model will be thrilled to only pay $10 for an upgrade. This will be one of the best planes for air to ground after they release the a-10 ll
Next showcasing the LJDAM and APKWS? 🥺
edit: the bumbs in the nose, made by the AAR Boom operator looks awesome!
She's always been my favourite airframe both in the real world and Lock On Modern Air Combat / DCS, and now she's been given more attention. Looking forward to spend another decade flying her! Thanks ED!
moved the view point up so high you can't see the top row of mfd buttons in the default position... nicely done. The attention to detail is what has me coming back for more.
Woo hoo! Much excitement for this in my A-10 community. Thanks for some love on the A-10, ED.
Wow I bet the warthog customers are super excited about all this.... awesome 👍🏻
Always happy like a kid on christmas when I see that wags loaded a new video up!
in my opinion the A-10C is the best module DCS have done and this is a very fitting upgrade. The warthog just fits so well within the DCS engine. Can't wait to get back into it!
$10 for this update seems a reasonably sweet deal. Thanks ED.
Fantastic!!!! It is going to be a Brrrrrrrrrt renaissance in DCS!
The A-10 is a DCS gift that just keeps on giving...
1:55 - YES! Finally! I've been waiting for this!
Waiting for what?
She is looking fantastic Wags👏 well done ED can’t wait. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
9.99.. Thank you guys, this is a really cool move. Hat off for you
Great video. I have noticed and appreciate the recent videos that includes a brief mention about the controls before proceeding to the demonstration. And it is also clear that the demonstration is well planned, which can be seen by the weapon initialization and the following flight route matches well up with a fire solution as the weapons are ready to fire.
Hopefully this will be helpful to new simmers.
Got into DCS about 6 months ago. Have since spent about a grand on hotas upgrades and some modules. Got the A10C2 when I bought the game, got it half price. Learned the fa18 first and love that. Just this week started learning the hog. I’m in love with it. It’s so cool to fly, and so dangerous to ground forces. Have pre ordered the phantom also, so hoping to have that soon.
Thanks for the video Matt. Looking forward to more about the A-10C II
Can't wait to get my hands on this new updated baby!
Awesome! I'm going to slot some QT in my Tank Killer to prep for the updated craft. Thanks Wags... Thanks DCS!
Lot's of good stuff in store for us, I see! What a great time to be a DCS simmer :D
Damn that price is a steal. I purchased the A10 day one over a decade ago, I still get immense pleasure out of that module today and it still hangs on well with more modern modules. In fact it still up in my top 3. Thankyou for this, looks a stunning avionics upgrade and damn cheap as well.
Honestly can’t wait to fly her, Will almost certainly get my out of my Huey and Hornet cockpit.
A noncompete module that you bought on the promise it will be complete just got dlcs. Idk if I'd call that a steel
Blake Roberts so which bit of the A10 module was incomplete?
DCS really value their customers 👏
Very excited to see this! I'm impressed with the very friendly upgrade price, guys. Textures look very nice, can't wait to get my hands on this. The A-10C always was my favorite module, I was not expecting ED to upgrade it passed the 2005 feature set. You have done great work! Eagerly awaiting HMCS video's!
I am totally getting this upgrade!
One of my friends asked me a few days ago why I'm going to buy a new VR headet (possibly HP reverb 2), and I didn't have a good anser as I haven't played with the Hog in the last a few months. Now I have a clear answer for buying a new VR stuff.
Thanks for your hard work on this!
I have the HP Reverb 2 and I would warn you to wait on this headset! Yes the screens look good for the most part, wait! There are better headsets coming out! The controllers that come with them are trash, in case you want to play other VR games.
@@stevenraycopley8885 thanks for the info. No other games. Only DCS and Elite:Dangerous. Is Reverb2 is already out?
Ilove this bird. It is the only one which I can use in vr without any compromises. It really is a hotas monster, almost everything can be done through the warthog hotas. This module and the warthog hotas was really good choice to fly in vr with the RiftS.It seems very complicated first to understand soi spi stp and all other stuff but thanks to such awesome videos (thanks a lot man, we need more of this please!!!) it can be learned well. Long live the brrrrrt… the simmers around the globe and ED
As an amateur watching this video, knowing basically how to fly the A10c, land it, etc... Watching you do all of these different things with all of the weaponry is just mind boggling. I remember last year I spent a few days reading the entire manual cover to cover, it was a LOT of info. I still don't know how to fire a weapon, lol.
10 bucks for existing customers! That is actually a steal! You guys rock thank you!
Great video Matt...keep up the great work👍
Hey, Matt, perfect video, good lesson!
Outstanding news! The Hog is getting a little love.
Excited!!! Definite buy!
DCS is plowing ahead with this and other aircraft, new maps and next years DC engine.
I am looking forward to the upgrade now!
Can't wait for this :D
Seems small but most excited for the updated radio. Can finally have the SRS freqs I need
now I am going to fire up the A10C and fly it some in VR just because of this. I will definently be getting this for sure. Just for the Laser mavericks. The HMCS hopefully will work correctly in VR.
on the Hornet its always off just a tad.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!
Hopefully you are not hinting release date.
wasyl00 haha
Does anyone know if A-10C II will always be $10 for people who have previously owned the A-10C, or just for a limited time Thank you
Gio I believe it's only until the end of this month.
Thanks ED 👌👌👌👌
Amazing. Day 1 purchase for me. BBRRRTT
8:11 for me I was like ohohohoh the unlimited SA!
Exactly!!
Dude hell yes i am so happy
I bought my Wathog stick for this aircrafts original release and guess what? Im gonna be using it 10+ years later for this! (PS touch wood)
on my way
$10/$20 is a very modest fee at either bracket for prior owners. I applaud you and the Eagle Dynamics team for transitioning this model into the current generation of full-sim modules without scalping current A-10C owners, thank you. I will, however say, it is an utter travesty that the Phantom II has yet to be added to the roster (half joking). While all these fancy shmancy glass cockpits are cool, I think simulating the more hands-on 4th/5th gen aircraft is where DCS truly shines. Since those aircraft are thoroughly out of service and their documentation declassified, it must be a lot easier to get a hold of information necissary to create a module comparitively to aircraft which are in current or recent service.
Awesome. :D
Cries in A-10A
Awesome
Love it
forget it matt Wagner, will be upgrading.. so thanks for taking my money.
With all this new stuff I wonder what the ED haters going to complain about now, once again and it’s been like 3rd time within the patch , thank you for everything
Ordered a BRRRT hat on Etsy just to stick my TrackIR on when firing up the A-10C II. Loving it so far, pretty steep learning curve compared to the F-16, but that is really subjective.
$10 bucks is unbelievably cheap for such a big overhaul.
That's only if you already have the original A-10C.
@@devilsoffspring5519 Which I do.
@@tinglydingle Then you're all set. The standalone module is probably gonna be 80 bux.
Hell yeah!
having spent some time playing a10c v1, damn this helmet overlay will feel like cheating :D
aw I been away from DCS for several months so I missed the sale...still worth it at 20 though :D
I’ve flown the A-10 in game for too long, have an A-10 pilot for a friend IRL, if anyone needs a refresher before this beast drops, or just wants to learn the aircraft, let me know
I could use some training. Haven’t flown it in years (in the game)
I've been flying the in-game A-10C since 2013, but the majority of the CDU is still a little intimidating. I'd love to delve into realistic markpoint usage, TOT, and other applicable things for combat use.
Me too, I'm still trying to learn now to get all my weapons on target with the TAD and Mavs. Damn I suck..:) but I keep trying, too bad I have no one to talk to to get good. Maybe because my work schedule is so screwy I can't get on as much as I like.
@@mopic312 Can relate. I really want to get more into it, but I work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.
Why doesn't DCS allow you to save the MFD's settings once you set them using syn/con/dsp ?
8:07 This changes everything.
Wondering if the circles are AWACS contacts or other A10s?
probably other hogs, like how they appear via the datalink on the moving map display.
You are right about that. This feature alone will get me back in the A10. I flew that jet exclusively for like 10 years :)
I think the HMCS shows the 5 closest SADL/Link 16 friendlies
That's an absolutely amazing feature. Enough to get me back into the module again.
It's got me wondering just how advanced the helmet-mounted features will be on the Typhoon when it's released.
Yep, and I needed it installed in the Hornet yesterday! The ability to designate via the HMD is huge.
I DO hope that Samuel L. Jackson will return for the extra in game tutorials;)
I've been waiting forever for the APKWS to be in the game, is the APKWS going to ba available for othe modules as well or just the A10?
I am curious do modern A-10‘s carry aim9x‘s that integrate with the Helmet sight? Seems like it would be a very potent deterrent for getting too close to one.
Good good, just make sure you do the same deal for the Steam version.
Please lower the ejection handles so you can see the cdu and its buttons properly 👍
Hi Matt, considering the fact that we’re getting APKWS for Warthog II does that mean it’ll be coming to other modules that support Hydra rockets? I know that the USMC have trained, and are rated for, using APKWS on their Hornets.
Never clicked so fast
Love your vids Matt
I have a question: when i buy the A-10C 2 it will cost 80 bucks but the upgrade costs only 10 bucks soo.... when i buy the normal A-10C right now will the upgrade still cost only 10 bucks? Because then i would buy the normal A-10C and get the upgrade because that will only be 55 bucks for both ?
Buy now then upgrade is the best option. Since it is not yet released u'll already qualify for upgrade discount. On the plus side you'll get two modules to play with.
@@aishikb22 yeah i know but i am not sure if i get the 10buck upgrade when i buy the regular A-10C now because you cant get that Information anywhere :/
@@Lxcx333 yeah u'll get it obviously since the module isn't in store yet. When Supercarrier got announced it had same offer with FA-18C. I bought the FA-18C to get the discount in SC. Don't quote me on that but I'm 100% sure.
Edit: It would be best to clarify with community managers like 9line or Bignewy
@@aishikb22 ok then i will buy the A-10C thanks for your answers :)
From my understanding, if you buy it now, you will be an existing customer and get a discount. Amazing value either way.
I love the A10c, but this is nowhere near enough to 'upgrade' for 79.99 to the II. Maybe, when there is more content, but otherwise it looks the same and I personally will be sticking with my a10c for the foreseeable future. I am training on multiple modules and can not wait for the F18 to get some more love. It has been WAY too long. Anyways, great video bro!
The upgrade is $9.99, not $79.99. Thanks
@@MattWagner can you upgrade through steam or is it only on the DCS website?
Yes!!!!!!!!!
DMS up short, TMS left long, Coolie hat this way, boat switch floating left......this reminds me why I have to do a mini-type rating on my HOTAS every time I want to get back into the Hog. Ouch.
Looks great though. 9.99 will be spent.
Agreed!! Lots of muscle memory needs dusting off, as well as some new stuff too.
It does sound like a lot work, but I've found the Hog to have the most intuitive and extensive HOTAS control. Somehow, it's very well layed out. But we have to see what the changes will be, as HOTAS commands are explicitly stated in the list of changes for the Tank Killer.
Hi Matt, when I get this update am I then going to have two A10C? or is it going to completely replace my existing one?
Excelent video Wags. Hi from Colombia. This type of launch is shoot and forget or is it mandatory to keep the plane with its laser watching and marking the target until it is destroyed?
Well at least you gave us a decent discount wags....
Will the hmcs development of this module help in any shape or form the development of hmcs for viper and jhmcs for hornet?
New explosion effects.
Yes 👍
Looking forward to the update. Will the A-10CII adopt existing key binds from the A-10C setup?
Most likely it will, if you restore config for a different plane than the one you're setting up, everything that matches will be set correctly and the rest ignored. So importing settings for older block Hog should do the trick.
@@AndrewCZ47 wait, excuse me? That's a thing? Are you telling me i can bind all my FC3 planes at once?
@@thejeff5010 Unless they broke it recently, it should work, you setup one of them and copy it to the rest, all you need to do afterwards is bind the extras like hook/wing fold on the naval planes. 90% of the work only needs to be done once though.
@@AndrewCZ47 I'm blown away, I've got like 6 aircraft with different schemes because i was trying different things. I'll have to make them all my low fidelity aircraft universal controls for sure. Thanks!
hey wags, you have a typo in the video title - it says "Kller"
Zing! Existing A-10C customers can upgrade for just $9.99 within the first month. That will please the customer/fan base I'm sure. Let's get started indeed.... Thanks, Wags!
Will release at and of september of 2020, we are on 26th !!!!! come on !!! i want to fly !!!!
@wags does the TGPs laser range are still limited (or I'd rather say ''bugued'') to 8nm ? Because it's nice to have LMAVs... But if we can't use their advantage...
Sweet, will it finally get afterburners?
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Question, is the input lua updated to the standard of the hornet or are we forever going to be stuck with the toggle method for the a-10C?
Are those new clouds I see??
New hawg looks amazing! Can't wait
no i’m pretty sure those the standard clouds
Interesting I don't get the EO page for mavericks even though I have the 65Ls loaded
When is it going to be up on the modules page?
in 4 or 5 days according to the Russian interview with ED producer
Releasing to Open Beta? Or will the stable branch be updated at the end of the month?
OMG C-130 confirmed
I’m happy and everything but when the eurofighter will come out ? Or the f15e or the a7 ?
Sounds like the audio had been updated as well?
So what is the use case for the laser maverick? What I mean is, why would you choose the L over the H for a mission? The range seems to be same/similar, they can all track moving targets, all require decent visibility to use... The L would then just be adding the 'disadvantage' of loosing fire and fly away capability (assuming self laze), without any obvious gain to capability? It's awesome getting the new, more modern, weapons, just curious how I should be utilizing this particular one?
Huh. Do we still not have axis controls for the lighting knobs?
I'm having lots of fun with the new laser rockets, HMCS, and new turn ability. One issue, in a "gimbal roll" situation with the original Hawg, I would do a "China Hat Aft Short" to recenter the gimbal. Now that switches the tgt pod to "Laser Search". Outside of switching the tgt pod to "standby" then back to "A2G", is there a quick way to reset
ecenter\unroll the gimbal?
Also, I was flying the "Hard Quickstart" in VR and it starts you at dusk. As the light fades outside, my right eyeball begins to see the cockpit with a green "night vision" glow while my left eye does not. This causes discomfort at first, followed by pain as it gets darker out. It is terrible! I've noticed that fires on enemy planes have different intensities between eyes in VR and other general issues between eyes with lighting and effects. The clouds in VR are terrible. They have little blobs that roll with your head when close to the clouds, it looks bad. They also "chunk" in a and out of existence at different ranges and angles off-center of your vision, different clouds between eyes. They also need to be fixed ASAP.
Finally, white-hot or black-hot IR on the tgt pod has crazy contrast swings that black out\white out the picture if a little smoke comes into view of the tgt pod, even just a little at the edge when zoomed all the way out.
You should probably adjust the quickstart to hide these bugs (change the time of day, remove clouds, and remove all the fires\smoke) until they are fixed, just something about showcasing all of your bugs to the beginners jumping into the quickstart seems like a bad idea.
Overall it was definitely worth the $10 though, and these bugs will be fixed quickly right Wags?
