My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after 11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.
I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Is it Clickbait or is it just the truth?
The way I’m living my van life ISN’T WORKING ANYMORE… instead of backcountry in the summer I may have to flip and do pavement in the summer. The way I’ve been doing things just isn’t working. And VAN LIFE JUST GOT WORSE… yesterday was a that Van Life Ontario made van life get worse. I don’t see any Clickbait in that I see that title of speaking the truth. It’s how you personally read it that makes it click bait. Look at it how I look at it I just told you guys the truth in a nutshell. Hahahaha
Everything is in your perception on how you read it and how you personally feel. The definition of Clickbait is::::CLICKBAIT on the internet) content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page.
That means every single UA-camr‘s job is to Clickbait every single video upload with an intriguing enough of a title that it makes people click on it. That’s our job as a UA-camr. Your perception of Clickbait is a title that’s misleading and a lie. I don’t lie in any of my titles . Hahahaha HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!

Look at some other positives too, Chrome. No yards to mow, no HOA telling you what you can or can't have in your yard. You can take your home out of harms way in case of fire, flood, or storm. No unexpected guests showing up expecting you to host them. You'd still have to maintain a vehicle that will rust and need repair. Yes it's tiny but that in itself cuts down on clutter. The only lifestyle more minimalist is like my friend who is living out of a backpack for 6 months as he walks the Appalachian Trail. Maybe taking it slower in the backcountry is the answer. 🤷‍♀️

We both know that Vanlife is fantastic most of the time and that is why you do it. Vans get old and if they are not limited to the desert, then rust they will. When it is time move on to another van. Get your ac fixed and go have fun.

I think because your rear door seals are gone worn out, as you travel forward that big brick is causing a vacuum around the rear doors which sucks air out of the inside. So to make up that inside air every hole, crack and every you name it is allowing air and dust inside. You got work ahead of yourself.

Vanlife only sucks if you let it suck!! Embrace the open road, the freedom to explore, and the cozy comforts of your awesome home on wheels. It’s all about the attitude and the adventures you make along the way....

Man, That's tough. My van got pummeled by 2" hail - dents everywhere! Don't know how the windows didn't break. Insurance fixed it, dents, paint, etc.(Over 10K) Last week went to the grocery store - someone shoved a cart or maybe backed into a corner of it - small dent, but it popped open the paint. You are so right, the maintenance never ends.

That’s one of the problems when you leave in a place were they use salt on the roads in the winter time. I live in Kentucky and they love to salt the roads and I have had rust problems with every vehicle I ever had. I now have a ford f150 with the aluminum body to see if I can beat the rust problem longer than I had with all my other vehicles I had. Wish my luck .

All the broken or tipped over stuff was not about that hole. Maybe rough driving on bumpy roads? And I’ve often thought that your racing through puddles is just throwing water + up to the bottom of your van. That sensitivity comes from 49 years of Minnesota living.

  • @vickimathews1970
    @vickimathews1970 13 днів тому +1

Heya Chrome, remember there's vents in the rear on both sides of the vehicle so you can close your doors etc., and there's also a hole on the van floor on both sides by your D pillar, great spot to feed in electricity and plumbing so you don't have to drill holes in your van, that's probably how it's getting in.

Me- I am a comfy, tiny home, campground, booghie not a back country gal and love paying rent- love my home so much. For me it is worth it 100%.
Everyone finds their bliss! I feel in the bigger picture we are all 'renters' here in life while we are here one way or another - passing through and enjoying the ride :)

It’s part-time travel so why don’t you just embrace it and move onto this different and new of your life?

All the cabinets look great but getting in to clean etc etc ughhh.. watching you just solidified my opinion on this!!!
    Have fun this summer..!!!🎉
I’m going back to NY to work and pay off my tires etc. ❤

I was reading the comments and some were very frank about your driving so fast on dirt roads! But let me put my two cents in! I was born in 1940 in Mississippi!! And only one blacktop with thousands of dirt/gravel roads!! Let me tell you dust flew in all seasons(except rainy)! So EvEryOne drove 30 to 40 mph! It was only in the 60’s that ALL the roads got blacktopped!! But it sticks in the back of your mind! Drive SLOW on dirt/gravel roads! Just saying, my friend🤗❣️

Hey. It’s time to upgrade. Fix this later after you get back from galavanting across the continent. Then sell the van. It has anew trani and rebuilt engine. You got the ambo and the shop to camp in for a while.
But having watched you from the beginning, you’ll probably rip it all out and redo that rust and more and just keep on keeping in that can.
    Love you C & C
