About the RCA: roadcyclingaca...
In this video our head coach, Ryan Thomas, will provide his view on the new Assioma Pro MX-2 power pedals. Rather than go technical in this video, we'll discuss the practical side of using the Assioma power pedals. Including how they held up in rough racing MTB terrain.

Obviously this is mentioned in the video, but just to be clear - Assioma sent us the Pro MX-2 pedals at no charge. We're also an official reseller of their products. Cheers, Cam
Thanks, this one definitely felt like a full blown advertisement!
@myxti3669 I have the road pedals and I will atest to their durability, accuracy, and their customer support is next to none
I never before put 2 and 2 together about Zane and Mary 🙂
@@myxti3669hear where you’re coming from. Just know that Ryan literally had no negatives. I pushed him on this during our pre chat (in order to stay somewhat balanced). When you consider some of the most credible tech reviewers find it hard to fault these pedals, I think we all just have to accept it’s a super solid product. Simple as that. Cheers
A shop owner friend sent me a set for my sponsored lady rider to test a little while back .
I got my Pro MX-2’s this morning. Looking forward to what they bring to my MTB training.
The antenna contacts , the two brass dots on the spindle , can break if struck really hard as my cousin found out in the laboratory .
I am cutting some of these pedals open tonight for dissection with a cousin who works in IT engineering . We will convert the circuit board into a diagram .
any update?
Oh sure, NOW you give Ryan a new bike after the race. - Mary’s Husband
of course no one used pedal based power meters before...
because there was only one, which you could seriously consider: Garmin
But they have a stack height from hell.
So basically the new Pro MX are the first good power pedals for MTB. Anything before was just a compromise.
The Assioma X-Pedo hack and SRMs are just not reliable enough.
And we have to wait how the new Look pedals perform in the long run.
No need for a power meter and a race boys you have got it or you’re out the back door
If I dress like the XC riders in this race , when doing off - road , I get criticised due to lack of shin and knee / arm protection . I tried power meters before COVID 19 , analogue and digital , and was learning about them . Once this was achieved , I moved on and all my riding group friends have them and get data "APPROXIMATIONS" for me . They aren't as accurate as I would like including the Assioma ones here . Ryan is an odd latecomer which is hard to understand if coaching and given that he can afford a decent bicycle . Power meters aren't expensive compared to bicycles themselves . To coach in a club , power meters are "REQUIRED" , by coaches and riders upon joining .
There are some German vibes at 0:09 🧐🤨
That axle on the road pedals and I'm in
I recieved my set 2 weeks ago,, great pedals,, but the torque efficency and pedal smoothness are not showing up any date on my garmin
Gp lama has shown the spd mod for the road pedals is pretty robust too. I’ve used the regular duos for mtb and never have had any problems
The road ones are tanks to indeed
More objective opinion than Shane Miller .
