Hey Bobby, thanks for the good vibes. It was fun to shoot. Big thanks to Roland for making it happen. I think that the 15 and 20 are quite different. I've had the hpd-15 for about 5 years and have really enjoyed the sounds and the flexibility that I can get from it, from the 808 sounds to amazing tabla and Ghatam sounds. The ability to add your own samples to the HPD20, really takes it to another level and the sounds are very cool on this system. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Oh boy, I definitely want one, this is just what I have been dreaming about! Thank you so much for the super inspiring display of talent as well! I am super sold.... Now I just have to pick up some more hours and I will be a Rockin anda Rollin in no time!
Spuz Zard Hey Spudz - Thanks for the good vibes! I appreciate it. The HPD-20 is a really wonderful instrument. When you get one, upload some playing here, so I can check it out! All the best!
once again I am blown away by your performance here ,and awaiting for my hpd 20 in a couple days . decided to go with this and bring my hpd 15 back which was on a 30 day at GC new technology sold me to get this instead .
Since this unit is starting to get a bit long in the tooth I wonder when Roland will drop a newer unit on us? Or just abandon it like they did with the VG-99? Nice demo Topher.
Wow. 110,000 views - that is amazing! Thanks to Roland Canada for making the video happen and for making such a cool instrument. The HPD-20 rocks and I would highly recommend it. IF you have any questions about it at all - get it touch and I will be glad to help you out.
I actually got the hpd 15 a couple week so its still on a 30 day trial , but this thing looks awesome , even sounds way better too , so its one or the other even though I would like to have them both .
Excellent video, awesome demo! Really interested in this product for one of my projects. Will it do traditional kit (hh, snare, toms, kick, cymbals) sounds? How about cajon sounds?
+Alexis Rojas Gonzalez Hey Alexis, Thanks for your positive comments on the video. Not sure of your location - here is a listing of Roland Europe www.roland.ca/international/ Good luck with the music!
Phenomenal video; I used to want a Korg Wavedrum but this can do exactly what I want; self-contained percussion based soundscapes. Now to come up with $1000. Come on, decent job...
Hi, Topher. Here's Sasha from Moscow, Russia. A great video. You start playing the "Hang drum" preset starting 2:48. Can't find that name in the manual. Is it originally included? I haven't got the HandSonic HPD-20 yet. Thanks.
Hey Sasha, The instrument in this video was a prototype. so it is possible that some the sounds have changed. I do have the hang drum preset on my production model HPD-20. Good luck with the instrument
Hi, Topher. You won't believe it. I bought it, tried it, liked it a lot. Then I was invited to sing with an orchestra, which was a stunning adventure. We've had rehearsals, recordings and two shows. And I haven't touched the HandSonic since then :) But now it's over and I can come back to it. Cheers :)
Hey Jean, Thanks for the good vibes - all of the sounds that I am playing like a drum are all present. There are some samples that have been loaded in that I triggered individually. It is a wonderful instrument - enjoy it!
Absolutely! I play Djembe and I get loads of practice with the steering wheels of the cars I drive each day (average 12 a day, from Mini Cooper to Audi Q7 to Range Rover Discovery) Ring on the finger is a great element too.
hi...great video)! kudos..i have a question...what is the capacity to import loops and samples...2gb??? and how is the sensitivity when you import single shots and play...thanks in advance..
Can you record samples into the pads from an External Audio Source using the 1/4 inch input jack on the Handsonic? If so, How Long is the Max. Sample Length Per Pad?
Can I use the Roland Handsonic HPD-20 to accompany a song by playing bass guitar notes (on the small pads) and drum/percussion sounds (on the large pads)? Does the Handsonic come with bass guitar sounds and other tuned instrument sounds?

You will not regret the choice. The HPD-20 is a wonderful instrument!
Great demo of a great product
Cool video :)
Fantastic and inspirational. And humbling for someone like me who's too amateur to ever do anything that good.
Thanks so much Jim for watching!

Thanks Ken! It was a ton of fun to do.
Very cool and versatile instrument, and you seem to be wringing every thing it has out of it. Can you play Wipeout?

@@josephfalco3141 cheers
Awesome brother! They need to integrate this into my steering wheel.
Absolutely! I play Djembe and I get loads of practice with the steering wheels of the cars I drive each day (average 12 a day, from Mini Cooper to Audi Q7 to Range Rover Discovery) Ring on the finger is a great element too.
How can loop speed first and slow?

Awesome job Topher. Any chance you can pass me along a coupon for on of these? :)
Who is this? Are you a League Of Rock Member? Let me know
Sorry, I'm not currently a member, but I was impressed by the video. How does one become a member?
Question: Can you play it with sticks without damage the pads ? Or there is a special stick for that?
You can play them with regular sticks
Can you plug in external triggers? Around 0:52 for instance I think the bass drum is done by foot.
Hey - you are correct, I was using a bass drum trigger.
You can plug in a trigger and there is a hihat control as well as a foot switch.

Hey Chan, for sure. it will take some programming but the instrument can do that for sure.
