Best advert ever: 'The Empire State Building...hmmmmm'. The smash robots laughing at people taking the trouble to prepare and eat real mashed potatoes and not eating gross instant mash is a close second.
Classic advert and one of my all-time favourites. I have always loved the "Mmmmmmmm" sound he makes and hand gesture when tasting the Empire State Building!!! It's the best bit of the advert in my opinion.
Lived in Barrow from 1990-2002 then moved to Workington until 2008 when i moved to Manchester, but i am always back in barrow and always meet people from barrow no matter where i go. I'm even writing this comment from barrow. Starting to think barrow is the center of the universe.

These were actually really good adverts. Funny, cute, and yes still demanding we spend money on things we don't need and are bad for us but....they're cute and well executed. That makes it a good advert for some, at least
This is the only reason that I am aware of Barrow in Furness.. We are planning a trip there next week.. National Trust Car Park... so.. We won't miss the chewed up Bus Station.
Does anybody know the actual year that these were originally aired? In my memory .... they were on TV for my entire Childhood and ,ost of my early adult life!... That can't be true.. They were probably on my VHS recordings of Star Wars from ITV which I watched a thousand times.. (good old Scotch Tapes)
