Lovely interview with Tom Wright which opens up his own journey in scholarship and faith. Great job Mark! Lovely to have been at Benburb Priory last Summer.
How have I only just stumbled upon your channel? Thank you so much!!! I've been reading his stuff for nearly 15 years. He's been such an inspiration. He's so relaxed here, lovey to see it. I'm a translator and have tried to help spread his ideas where I can in Latin America where I live. The Challenge of Jesus was a great help in grasping some of his ideas and understanding how we got to where we are.
I'm stopping at the 17 minute mark to tell you how much I appreciate this video. You have engaged a sheltered-in-place NT Wright to be his animated joyful self. Great interview so far--I love his gesturing unconsciously with pen in hand--and will treat myself to the rest in a moment. In a world not upside down, this would be a viral video. Thanks again. Say hi to Tom for us.
@@paulwells4372 And you are exactly who? You've published precisely what? Speak and translate which Biblical languages? Another screamer on the internet doesn't serve Christ.
Thank you Bishop Wright. My pastor Apst Dr. Shawn Smith established us from Duoala Cameroon in this Truth. You are a rare gift to our broken world. God is really always in charge
@@MoreChrist, rewatched your interviews with Tom and Michael Gorman this week, after reading an additional 5 of Tom’s works and 4 of Michael’s. Just wanted to commend you again and thank you. Your knowledge of, and most importantly, grasp of their proposals; especially to us called to embody the gospel; is so evident. I applaud your ability to have them develop and even nuance their profound work for us. Its an incredible blessing! God Bless!
I would definitely agree with Tom Wright that the depth of the Scriptures, and I am not a "sola Scriptura" Christian, are our bedrock and source. Taken with the Apostolic Fathers and the living Tradition of the Church, and right reason, form the kind of triad of support from which we should never leave. Both Fundamentalist Literalists and Deconstructionists have failed us miserably, and neither group has a connection to the authentic Tradition of the Faith.
there's alota history to understand what world these Israelites lived in, how they were influenced by the surrounding nations....How Israel was highly rebellious over and over....how God raised up prophets (without internet, libraries, phiosophers ect) but these Prophets were exceedingly wise and full of power ...what was the last vision of Israel? Who was Israel's King to sit on David's throne? who are God's humble people...when will God judge the nations? Christ said many shall come in my name saying "I'm Anointed" smh....get ya minds right I also want to say those before God's throne are FULL of the knowledge of God... and they can not help but sing and reply about what they have seen of God and know of God!...
Greetings from El Salvador. Tom at his most relaxed but always focused!

Great interview. Only for your info the capital “G” in God is the same in Spanish. Not only an “English thing” :-)
