Persistence, calmness and professionalism is what this officer showed.
I went to the Red Cross in my hometown and got a big poster on how to do CPR on adults and children. I also got certified in CPR. I changed out my house phone for a big button wall phone, and I thought my kids how to dial 911.
Abso-frixken-lutely!!
The Officer did a great job!! What a hero! ♥️
@@patriciaharris1711 Wonderful!! Smart Lady!!
Thank God for you, great officer, so calm & loving.
What a hero once I heard the baby cry I knew she was going to be OK
If theyre crying theyre breathing. That goes for all choking incidents. If the person is coughing, talking, or crying they are getting some sort of air at that moment.
no these kids end up relapsing once in hospital

My shoulders were up around my ears. I didn’t realize this till I heard him cry, and they relaxed. Wow. I hope he’s ok. Tiny infants have been known to go without oxygen and come out ok; I hope that that’s the case here🤞🙏
@@agathahofmann6977 Not all of them. When you are doing CPR the first thing you want to hear is coughing or crying, that means they are breathing and the next step is getting them medical help before a relapse can happen.
It actually isn't as common as you may think for this kind of relapse to occur in small children. Sometimes the problem is heat or exhaustion and not something fatal. It just depends. Once in a hospital it is even less likely for a relapse, especially because they have fast ways of dealing with the issue and good medical equipment on hand.
Great job officer! Stayed calm & focused! ❤
The longest seconds of a mother's life is when her child is not breathing. It's absolutely terrifying.
Every parent before leaving the hospital after having a baby should have to take an infant and child CPR class
When I had my children, years ago now, we were required to take infant CPR before we could leave the hospital. We had to prove we understood and could demonstrate it ourselves.
I really don't know why they don't make it a requirement anymore...
ABSOLUTELY!!
Some Schools taught CPR in health class I don’t know if they do it now.
Totally agree!!!!!!
I’m in tears. I just got a memory of my son turning blue and not breathing when he was 10 days old. And then it happened 2 more times after that. I’m grateful that his dad (my husband) saved my boy. He’s now about to turn 25 years old. It’s the scariest feeling. I got those emotions all over again watching this video.
Me too🥺 My baby, 2mos old, 2 hours after his newborn shots. My beautiful bby boy was totally blue. Thank God for their quick action or he wouldn't be here, and 26y old😭😭 I'm sorry you've been through this too.
I stopped breathing numerous times as a baby, my dad would beat my back until I started breathing again. Days in the Army hospital, they said nothing was wrong with me. 🥲
Happened to my son too…My son was born with the cord around his neck twice…he looked d e a d already, completely blue and eyes bulged out. My mom fell to her knees praying and my husband had a death grip on my hand. I was as calm as could be, very peaceful, and idk why but I knew he’d be alright. They assured me that the loud sound of them beating on his back was for his own good. It took them 4 1/2 minutes to get him to breath. He stopped breathing later in my recovery room and I watched what they did. So when we got home and he stopped breathing twice, I already knew what to do. He’s 11 now and no issues!
Honestly, I struggled to get his shoulders thru. They had 4 nicu nurses ready to save him…one of them shouted at me in a loud fearful tone to push (like a deep warrior tone)! I could see it on her face that something was wrong, it scared me enough lol…I understood the assignment and pushed him out right then. I always wanted to thank her but idk who she was. She’ll forever be a part of my sons birth story!
@@LittleBittySaidit I hear you and I went through the same thing when delivering my twins and I didn’t go full-term, but the second one her cord prolapse and she had no heartbeat so they rushed to put me to sleep so they could cut me open late. I understood the mission and they told me what to do I did it
I’m glad your babies OK bless both of you
I had my parents over my house years ago. Our neighbors older kid came over crying and panicking about her baby sister not breathing and turning blue. My father got up and went next door and saved the babies life. He came back and sat down like nothing happened. Just a hero going about his business

Every new parent should be taught infant CPR before they take the infant home
Yeah, they should all receive a set a instructions
I agree 💯.
Absolutely. One class on a Saturday is all it takes. Community colleges always have a CPR cert class every semester and it's very affordable. I paid $11 to attend the class and got certified.
YES! But earlier, before baby is born, everyone in the household, parents, older siblings, grandparents etc
It should be part of the pregnancy and doctors should offer it to pregnant mothers. Many do not realize there is a separate class for adult and baby
I was driving with my son in his car seat. He started choking on a sweet. I immediately pulled over and it happened to be a bus stop. A bus had to brake hard because I stopped so quickly. The driver was blasting his horn. I ran around, got my son out face down like this baby (my son was about 5years old) on one arm and slapped him between his shoulders and the sweet popped out. I've never been so glad to hear anyone gasp for a big breath. The bus driver saw what had happened and asked if I was OK or needed an ambulance for the boy. He was fantastic when he realised.
I choked on a sweet at my communion. My dad did the heimlec maneuver. I was never so happy to hear a gasp....😊

Well, if you need more policec then I would vote Republican all the down to the dog catcher. It HAS to begin locally. Go to town board meetings, take a note book with start writing which way a member votes. Are they putting the town first in protecting you? Demand accountability!
There are good officers on every force. It only takes 1 or more to tarnish the reputation of a department. Qualified immunity needs to be abolished. And officers should be encouraged to police themselves and others in the department to step up when they recognise wrongdoing among their peers without fear of flash back from the higher ups. This keeps everyone honest and held to the highest standards of service.
Yes we do
There is........maybe we just need more dying babies for proof?
Or maybe the news should focus on all the great officers we have and not focus on the few that make bad decisions
All teenagers who babysit , all parents and grandparents , should take a Red Cross CPR. The life you save could be a sibling, child , grand child , or the child you are paid to keep .
Remember a few years ago my pastor preaching sermon about a man come around the curve next to a levi and a river, so he stop and jumped out to see what was going. Someone told him that a car had just run off the Levi into the river. When he gasket people have gotten out they said no and no one was trying to help. This man without hesitation jumped into the river and swam down to where the driver's door was and found the person unconscious behind the wheel and he was able to extract him and get him back to shore. Once he caught his breath and got the guy rolled over come to find out he had saved his own seventeen-year-old son. Eddie been like the rest of the people standing around there he would have let his own boy die.
Before I was allowed to take babysitting jobs my parents insisted I take a specialized course for teens who wanted to be babysitters. Most of the course focused on first aid. I remember learning CPR for babies and toddlers.
I mean, we didn’t get CPR certificates but we were taught enough to help until the ambulance could get there.
Most parents in my area wouldn’t hire babysitters unless they had this course.
I only had to use the skills once when at the park with a child I was sitting. A playmate started to choke and couldn’t breathe and the mom was frantic. So I went and helped. Kinda odd that a 15 year old took over from the mom, but I managed to dislodge it and get the kid breathing just before the ambulance arrived.
That mom called me a week later and I became their regular sitter, lol.
This was in the 90’s so I have no idea if it’s still being run. I would hope so.
Because I work in a preschool Center we have to do CPR every two years so a lot of the parents would get us for babysitting because we're already trained in CPR
I wish CPR and such were required in high school. Agree it should be required for taking a baby home after birth too. It’s required of adoption.

I took an Infant CPR class as a part of my birthing classes with my first baby, my son, when I was 19. I remembered all of this stuff over the next five years as I had my first 2 daughters. I still remembered 14 years after my 2nd daughter was born when I had my 3rd (SURPRISE) daughter at age 39. That was 16 years ago. My older 3 kids have now made me a Grandma/Nana and I have already used that same information to save one of my grand babies when he stopped breathing for a "split" moment at the age of 11 months.
Learn CPR, adult and infants.
I completely agree , but I can honestly say this CPR looks completely different . So on babies it’s probably a different scenario , I have seen a few videos. But now I am gonna take a class after watching this sad video .
Thing is I know CPR but I freeze when I panic. If it were one of my children though, I think my senses would kick me into gear. My kids are grown now thankfully, but it doesn't mean I won't ever run into a moment where I need to perform it still with my own.

We followed the directions on the packaging. Our girl swallowed it correctly, but our boy aspirated it, went stiff as a board, and turned blue. Do not criticise the parents. When it is your child you do not know how you will react. Even with the best training you can get, when it is your own small child you may freeze up.
Absolutely. Panic sets in and you can freeze in fear.
So true. 😢

@@jerry9535i wish I lived in your fantasy world. If this were true, the 19 babies/teachers that were shot and killed in Uvalde would still be alive. But the police decided their own safety was more important, in other words the complete polar opposite of "protect and serve". Enjoy your little safe isolated bubble you hide inside from the real world where thousands of police abuse their positions of power reserved for law enforcement. 😊
@@jerry9535not to mention the phrase "protect and serve" isn't even a federally mandated obligation, and it never was. Cops decide who they want to help, and they decide how to help people in need. For example, killing unarmed and non violent mentally unstable citizens due to "fearing for their safety" ??? If they're protecting and serving, the general public is clearly not their main concern. Maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to have a direct personal experience with the tens of thousands of complaints filed against police every single year all across this ignorant hypocritical country 🤔 good luck!
@jerry9535 Yeah, except most of them these days never bother to follow protocol or protect and serve, which is why not a lot of people coming in all shape, size, and feature trust police.
And officers like this man in the video are the ones we need.
We have had police officers, like him, for a very long time. We just weren't shown the great work they do. May GOD bless our police firemen, military & EMTS. They put their lives on the line daily. Let's never foget 9-11.

Actually it’s not, the parents should have known CPR. All adults should know it for all ages! But yes, glad they were there!
@@shannond7437 police AREN’T there to save lives?
Police officers are actually for enforcing the law and stopping criminals. Paramedics are for health related emergencies. Firefighters are for putting out fires. But all of them have CPR training and parents should too. I had to save my son’s life when he choked on a chunk of mango when he was a year old. The training kicked in and I was totally calm till he was breathing again… then I couldn’t stop shaking for the next half hour.

My father was a police officer and he saved my baby brothers life the same way.
That officer should've received a medal for that!!!!! Thank goodness he was there!!!!!
Every parent should learn CPR. The classes are usually free at hospitals and fire stations. Once you learn it, you never forget it. It saves lives!! Thank God for that police officer.
I've taken the class many times and don't remember it.
and who knows, maybe you get to use it to save a life one day. That, you will never forget, I know from personal experience with person suffering a heart attack. After it was over, I had such adrenaline rush from being scared of losing the man, that I vomited. I will never forget.
My daughter was premature and I took the class 4 times worried I didn't learn correctly! Lucky I never had to use it, on her at least
Thank God for our police officers. I bet this was worthy of a cry afterwards.
If it was me, it would blubber like a fool in my car and I would forget (at least for a few minutes) all of the crap that I had to put up with day after day. This is one of those moments that an officer would look back on at the end of a career and remember as one of their favorites.
This is exactly why we still Need Police. They not only catch the bad guys but also Save lives too !!!!
That is why I respect our officers, praise God they were there!!
That cop is a true hero!!
I cannot believe how calm he stayed. He acted like he’s done it several times in his life. His voice, his demeanor, his control, and handling of those baby dude you rocked it.🎉

What kind of cpr. Was that more like burping. OMG I couldn't breath. What's up with this forking mom. I'm so angry with God. Hope this baby is safe. I swear. This was awful.
I couldnt breathe until I heard that baby cry this man is a hero
This is why all parents/family members need to know CPR.
My daughter was old enough to eat solids but still an infant and choked on banana. I knew CPR and how to perform the Heimlich but I panicked. When I realized I needed to act bc help wouldn't come in time I managed to get myself together and dislodge the banana but it only took seconds for her to change colors and start foaming from the mouth. Even if you have the tools, when the emergency is yours you still may need help. I worked in healthcare for over a decade and to this day I get weak when either of my daughters bleed.
It’s so scary when it happens. It’s possible to suction a baby with one’s own mouth if necessary. Some would say “gross”, but we do what we need to do in emergencies, right? Of course!
My baby stopped breathing hours after her birth when she vomited amniotic fluid. She started breathing after a few minutes and was doing better by the time paramedics arrived. Her pediatrician said newborns have extra red blood cells to get them through the first hours after birth and she was (involuntarily) protecting her airway. She was fine, but it’s really scary! Older babies don’t have the extra red cells so they don’t have much time to start breathing again.
I saved my husband’s life at Disneyland in front of hundreds of people. He choked on an expensive but very dry burger there and I had the same feeling hit me to my core- No one else could arrive in time to do the Heimlich, it was up to ME! And I saw no onlookers or even my daughters as I did it five times to dislodge the food.
All parents should know CPR and basic first aid. Sometimes, help is too far away and we need to save our own babies.
I'm a retired nurse and if it's my family, i still panic!
This is a great representation of most police officers. A real hero.

Police work is dangerous for all police, paramedics, fire departments etc. So put your money where your mouth is, if you can do better then do it, instead of bashing police.
Praise God. We need much more of cops doing this out there
What tou mean? more babies in that situation for the cops doing more of this out there?
There are tons of stories like this. You just have to look for them. Unfortunately people prefer to be outraged so they just aren't seen as much.
They are out there
They do this everyday. It's the ultra wealthy and the criminals who want to defund the police.
They do this EVERY SINGLE DAY. There is actually MORE GOOD the police do then bad. The media only wants to share the times something bad happens. Therefore everyone thinks majority of cops are bad people. No.. they literally are out here saving lives on a daily basis all across the country . Then every once in a while a duce bag cop lets his ego do his job for him and makes all police look bad. Not every cop is bad. Not every white person is racist, not every black person is in a gang and selling drugs. Ect... ect ....
And that’s just ONE reason why we need our police!!!!!!! Many other reasons too! Let’s respect them!!
I totally agree. Cops aren't the bad guys. I've seen a lot of bad cops, BUT they GOOD ones like this guy out weigh the bad ones. He remains so calm, and that helps keep mom calmer as well. Thank God these officers are there to help us.❤😊
I feel like the whole point is being missed here. Nobody thinks all police are bad or that we do not need any. What people want is the system to be fixed that put police in positions they are not qualified to deal with and training that doesn’t make them reactionary. We want everyone to be treated fairly and not have some people who can call for help and others who fear for their life if they do the same.
@@CJ-un5xuactually there ARE people who think we need to get rid of police. They want chaos. And then, when they get chaos, they wonder where the police are.

This is truly the scariest thing especially for a new parent. I remember my daughter was 6 days old and i woke for her morning feeding and when i picked her up she stopped breathing but she luckily started again before the ambulance even got there. I was told that when infants cant breath thru their nose they dont know to breath theu their mouth right away so they told me she probably just had mucus in her nose and didnt breath thru her mouth right away. She was taken to hospital just for precaution. She is 27 now but that day i will remember as one of the scariest in my entire life.
Thank God for police officers!!!
AMEN AND AGAIN AMEN😇🙏🙏🙏
Yeah if they aren't corrupt
Poor baby … so happy that she had so many helping hands around her ❤
Wonderful job, Deputy. We all thank God for you being there.
I’m a nurse, and one time I was renewing my cpr license and they stated that if you don’t have a mask for cpr and your not comfortable with giving mouth to mouth, than just do chest compressions. And we were talking about pediatric patients. Who the hell would not perform mouth to mouth if need be for any infant or child? I couldn’t even believe someone could be so selfish if they didn’t. Thank that officer! All parents need to be taught in the hospital before they bring their child home!
If you was a nurse like me you'd notice that baby was breathing and was lovely and pink, he didn't do cpr he was sucking out her mouth, she was a nice pink colour and definitely breathing, to me she seems full of phlegm
CPR masks are so that the patient being administered to has a protection barrier from the person giving CPR. Ie hepatitis, HIV etc.
Right but what if it's a blockage- won't breathing IN force it down further? You need it to come OUT. This was a blockage not a heart attack.
Love how the officer's calming demure kept every one and every thing running smoothly. Well done, sir.
This is what we pay officers for..to protect and SERVE...So greatful for this officer ❤

You really need to see a lelative to be able to have empathy and perform CPR?
Edit: Relative lol
@@piiinkDeluxe what is your meaning of lelative? Everyday people can take a CPR course, you don't have to have a job that requires it. Also babies and infants have a different type of CPR moves and techniques than adult CPR. You don't need to see anyone to have a caring nature. Even animals care about others sometimes.

Isn't if funny that no one talks about an Officer saving a life, a little baby? 99% of Police Officers are there to help and love their jobs. Don't put them all in the same category. So happy this little life was saved!!
That's what they get paid to do ,but if you've had any actual real life experience with the police you would know that ,that's rarely what they do.IDK where you get your statistics from but they aren't based on reality.
EXACTLY! THANK YOU
Its so unfortunate that your comment doesn't have more likes. But i agree, all everyone wants to do, is talk about when an officer does something wrong. But never when they do something right.
We absolutely do talk about and commend heroic actions and good officers. We should also call out those in the minority who are not good, whose actions terrorize, endanger, or kill those they're sworn to protect. Pretty straightforward, to me.
@@SheilaR.08 I never said we should not talk about when an officer does something wrong. But you'd be lying if you said the news talks about the good things an officer does to the same extent as when they do something wrong. A heroic action may be mentioned a few times over a couple days. But a disgraceful action would be put in a loop for dozens and dozens of times probably over the course of weeks and even months.
My 19 year old daughter did this while we were in a hotel hit by Hurricane Charlie in 2004. She was 2 weeks old. She started to cry then stopped in mid cry. I realized she'd inhaled spit up and wasn't breathing. We had no lights, but a bag of chep lighters we had saved for some reason. Her father finally got her breathing and the people next door gave us a candle they had. It was their only light and to this day I am eternally grateful to them for sacrificing their only light so we could watch her all night.
Thank God they were there. I remember my youngest had a similar episode literally within 24 hours of being born at the hospital. My bf was freaking out while I started CPR until the nurses came in. My bf was confused as to why they weren't taking over, and the nurse told him that I had it under control. She wasn't wrong. I learned I am pretty logical and calm in crisis. One of us has to be. I still believe everyone should know CPR. Very important skill to have.
