    Vietnam Vet '68-69 here. I never actually heard B52s flying above although we did sweep through the aftermath. At 20-30,000 feet all you'd hear would be the bombs going off. Spooky, on the other hand, never "terrified" me at all. They rescued my unit from more than one VC attack. It's like watching the greatest fireworks show on earth - a long stream of burning tracers from plane to ground and there's 4-5 rounds between each tracer that you can't see.

    The US does still use the last model of the B-52...the B-52H. However, the H-model upgraded the engines to newer model turbofans, which are quieter than the screaming turbojets you heard that had been on the plane. Also, the B-52s flew at such high altitude, the Vietnamese rarely ever heard the sound of the planes. 🖖✌

      The hat is a Fernando Alonso Formula 1 French GP hat and Kimoa is the brand that made it
