The kind of content you make is always helpful man. It's honest and straightforward to the point with clear and strong explanations. Not to mention you are superhuman on guitar!
Greatest Rick! Yes the best way I have figured out to play a dominate 7th arpeggios descending or ascending in a sequence of 5's is linear with 2 1 2. On the high 3 strings. there's a tremendous amount of forms to play the dominate 7th arpeggios and I try to practice them all. Linear, horizontal. Diagonal, diagonal reverse combining 2 forms.... so on and so forth. I'm hoping you have some guitar God secret I'm missing. I was hoping maybe you had worked on that type of lick and had something up your sleeve. Great lessons as always from an outstanding guitarist! Im always looking forward to your videos! Thanks! Cheers!
Before I get to old and die I want to shred. I try and try and my picking hand just doesn't hang eith the feet hand. You frickin rock my dude keep shredding for those of us who wish we could.
Here, here! I've been playing since I was 15 (24 years now??), & I've always had horrid tension in my shoulders & hands that I've tried for ages to rid myself of. My left hand pinky is drinking tea (pinky up!, haha), even though I've been trying to get it to cooperate ever since, and the faster I try to go, the more tense I get. I used to be able to play a little faster when I was in my early 20's, but I faded out of doing leadwork, in favour of composing & loving writing neat chord progressions & rhythms. I would love to be able to shred again...
So without being facetious here - the only thing I instantly got from this vid was that next time I mess up a lead line I can just say "haha - I've changed key there" 3:23 Another brilliant vid Rick, thank you... now to practice!!
Rick how are you I have arthritis and have set myself a challenge to play better and ignore it So thanks for all your videos I won't cross my fingers cos that hurts ! Hah 😜
Rick I was watching your body transformation video and since I've started working out myself and I also play the guitar, how the hell did you find time to hit the gym that much and practice the guitar that much? Were they pretty much the only things you did? Now that I understand bodybuilding a little more I can appreciate how much time it must have taken and on top of that add the guitar too...I can only focus on one big thing at a time, either guitar or going to the gym if I really want to improve a lot. How did you do both?
@@skylar.simoncelli I like to do set with weights then a set on guitar. Alternating..... that helps to do both at the same time. If your working out and practicing at home anyway....
i guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I love any help you can offer me
@Decker Khari i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Interesting! I've always tried to play diatonically, but I'm finding that a lot of my favorite guitarists use symmetrical finger patterns, even if it deviates from the key / chord shape. Hmmmmm!
what is your recommendation on PICKING arpeggios at high speeds? the glass prison is like the gold standard for picking arpeggios and it's insane to be able to pick that fast and that clean. any tips? how do you do that?
i would recommend light or extra light strings and practice how soft you can touch the string before it starts to buzz. Do this reeeeealy slow to get a lighter touch. try to stay relaxed. Your muscles will start to use less force. At first concentrate your perception on your fingers and lower arm. Do this with really easy exercises in one position. Just 1-2-3-4 (fingering) than variations. After a while you can do this while watching tv or reading a book. This is a thing of muscle-memory, which has to be programmed. Make frequently pauses, because your motorcortex (a part in your brain that commands your muscles) needs some time to build new neurons and connections. And check how you hold your left hand: your thumb should be behind the neck, opposite your 2nd finger - like a classical player would do.
@@patrickfoster4586 well when he plays i can still hear it...noise gate won't help with that 😁 I have noiseless on my ibanez and they sound exactly like single coils 🤘

The return! I feel extreeeeemly well when I see your lessons again Richard. Cheers mate!

Awesome technique, thanks for sharing this..God bless you
Your phrasing is top notch Rick. A very brilliant guitar player here ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼👍🏼
Rick your instagram licks took my technique up a level .i want another set!
Why does my guitar not do that
Your not using the same strings..Yep thats got to be it,, I also need to change my strings, then we will both sound like RG..
Have you double checked if it comes with a Rick Graham? That could possibly be the issue.
Should try a new one
Great job Rick! Brilliant stuff!

7:26 why is talking about fingering funny? 🤔
Because its a sex move
Hahaha

Hi Rick you're not being specific enough with your patterns, IE starting and ending tonic notes.thanks .Best Regards.John.
Excelente Master !!! Epic
EXELENTE.PERFECTO ARPEGIO!!!
This lesson is the beginnig of fusion soloing I think.
Rick don't you hate that buzz 😁 i get so frustated with mine that i changed to noiseless pickups..
Eeehhh! Wrong answer! The tone is sooooo worth the little buzz. Get a noise gate and relish those glorious Fender coils! Cheers! P[>

yep
Love that color, or that "bloody colour", on that sweet Stratocaster! Cheers! P[>
Are you using an amp and making this noise?

Yeah man, it doesnt seem to work for me.
always walk away from an RG video inspired to try some new ideas
EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMELY WELL

The audio while you're speaking sounds like cookin oil meat but the playing is superV
That 2 - 1 - 2 stuff reminds me of Tim Miller a lot. He really makes some righteous noise with that concept. Are you a fan of his?

Nice~ no shabbiness
Good stuff but I would prefer a clean tone
There is little point in doing a lesson with effects running.
extrreeeeeeeeeeeeeemely well out there I know I am
60 Hz Hum..
The problem Rick, is....I can't play as fast as you.
Speed is the least important thing here.
Clean sound dirty nails thumbs up
Good stuff, but for my taste, get rid of the distortion. You’re so good, you don’t need it, and it translates better to other styles
Too fast
Do your dirty nails help with the arpeggios?
