Open up a new window and place the official cartoon in the last corner and play at the same speed!
Why not take your time on something and make it beatiful story wise and animation wise? Who cares if the fanbase of your series is rushing you? If they want a good show all good things come to those who wait. I want to implement this high of quality in my shows one day :)

Background, learn to digital painting... 6. Foreground Filters... depends, PS/AE filter with gradient set to multiply with lower opacity.. and the foreground is next to the screen effects. 7. Compostion... If you follow all of this it will result like this.. 8. add more adjustment layers on AE.. you could try something like Magic Bullet for more preset effects.... and Magic Bullet has a Diffusion to make it a little glowy.... 9. There is no shortcut... drawing properly and understanding lighting and knowing the application you using is the most important to create a very convincing animes.. I think he is showing this for the art directors...

Mirashade It ruins the original base colour and makes it look like a mash of special effects when it doesn't need that. Keep it simple, it's easier on the eye.
I thought the same at first, but I'm torn as to which cut I like better. The effects added in the final step may be unnecessary and even mildly distracting, but they match Mike's signature artistic style. Most of his work I've seen has that same almost rainbow fuzzy hue to it. It adds personality and makes his projects easily recognizable to those familiar with his other work and sets it apart from every other style of anime out there. On the other hand, if this were an actual anime it wouldn't take too many consecutive episodes watched for your eyes to get a bit exhausted from so much color, and especially if it were a long running show it would get pretty tiring.
Laytho2 You cannot say that anything is better or worse than anything. The term "better/worse than" is purely subjective. It's a matter of opinion. You can prefer the final cut, but that does not make it "better" than the original, nor does OP's preference for the compositional cut make it "better" than the final. To each their own.
Mike, you made this scene 100% more emotional than the original. If the more important scenes in Gravity Falls took the time to make them more emotionally weighted, I think I'd ball my eyes out by the end of the season, MORE than I did, WITH the cartoony style

How does the foreground layer get used? Is it a specific blending mode? I also don't get how the final layer has a glow to it, might as well be magic to me.
Perhaps, it is most like a blending mode. I think the final layer gets it's glow from the foreground layer as the previous frames before it don't have that gloss effect.
Foreground Filters is the Colours frame with some more shading done for realism. Composition is the Background and Foreground [/Filters] frames together, and Final is Composition with Screen Effects blended over it. (I would assume it's blended with some sort of Add filter.)

Angelo Ramirez is not a 3d modeling tool as far i am aware , it have some features to load 3d models to help you draw but it cant modify 3d objects , as far i know

The composition step does look like standard anime quality. The final has more vibrant colors and looks better to me, though.
