Starting your own perfume brand? I host my online store with Shopify: shopify.pxf.io/jryWdn
Challenge accepted! I went into a slightly different direction and made a nice fragrance using: Ambroxan, Benzoin 50%, Black Agar, Cuir Vitessence, Ethyl Safranate, Fir Balsam, Hexyl Benzoate, Iso E Super, Kharismal, and Mandarin EO (yellow). It smells like drinking mulled cider under the Christmas tree. I'm going to do another run with a bit of Vetiver, Cedarwood, Eugenol, and Birch tar to give me more of a 'by the fire' feel.
Lovely - jealous that you had access to more raw materials ;)
This was great Sam! Always love seeing the process. The rum ether was a lovely addition.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Always interesting to see your thought process in these videos. Appreciate your videos Sam!
Thank you
You should make some more videos certain types of fragrances and how to make them like fougeres, spicy fragrances and oriental fragrances.
Here’s a challenge, make it smell like a Christmas tree that dries down into an eggnog for the final note.
Perfumersapprentice makes a cognac accord that smells like eggnog
😂
I tried this!! It's was so hard because my rum scent is a top note, I was able to start as eggnog, have a mid Xmas tree, and a nondescript amber vanilla dry down. I used Benzoin 50%, Brandy Accord, Cedarwood VA, Cinnamic Aldehyde, Ethyl Isobutyrate, Fir Balsam, Fixamber, Hexyl Benzoate, Iso E Super, Kharismal, Tolu Balsam Essence, and Vanillin.
Can you make a video on oriental fragrances ?
Amazing! I learned so much! Thank you!
Pinene Beta is also a great material for such a kind of fragrance!
Completely agree with you
Created a Room Spray a couple years ago. If you’ve ever been to Michaels Craft store here in the States, to my nose, it smells exactly like their Christmas section. 😂
Cardamom 3d .057g
Peppermint 1d .019g
Cinnamon 2d .028g
Fir Balsam 10d .210g
Nutmeg 1d .020g
Vanilla 10% 5d .075g
Tobacco 10% 5d .091g
Oakmoss 10% 1d .016

ISO E 5d .121g
Apple Accord 3d .069g
Siberian Fir 1d .021g
Thanks for this! It gave some interesting insights into the theme of “christmassy” Perfumes to me. I wonder if there’s any chance fragrance foundry will ship to Germany any time soon?
Thank you! The Fragrance Foundry ships equipment to Germany but not raw materials; probably not soon unfortunately until I can work out a dangerous goods shipping account.
Hey yol any idea of how to make a minty perfume for ladies with a citrus finish…I know it’s a weird request but I love the smell of mint (like chewing gum mint)…😭❤️
Nice video man
And i want ur opinion on the le male le parfum i'm thinking to pick one but not sure if there are better options
What do you think?
I didn’t like it myself
Hi Sam! Do you think i can replace florol and bourgeonal with hydroxycitronellal and precyclymone B or helional?
Greetings from India Sam, one small request can you make a video which consists of what all material do you put in the ethanol to improve the sillage or projection or whatever materials you put in the ethanol.
Late to the Christmas party but just wondering if you have any opinions of on Birch Tar in perfumery? A different direction from where you took this idea. Could a subtle inclusion suggest the cosy fire place? I think it's quite a divisive odour as many find it too medical.
Edit: just seen you mention birch tar while you talked about cade in the leather notes
Yes maybe a light touch could work
I know this question isn't about the video, but do you know which essential oil (or mix of them) can replace the sesame oil scent?
First of all, thanks Sam for your videos, always an inspiration! I wanted to ask you about Kephalis, I don't own this raw material but I was looking for some sort of substitute for it. Is this somewhat similar to Koavone?
Maybe a little. But koavone is more piney, kephalis is sweeter and less rough.
@@sammacer thanks, I suspected that... I probably gonna get Kephalis someday soon, is there anything you would say that could be a good substitute in the meantime?
To me in terms of smell it’s a combination of ISO E and Australian sandalwood. Not sure about performance however.
This was Great ❤
I genuinely enjoyed this video 📹 Sam , Thank you for sharing with us 😀 I have learned a Lot thanks to you !
- I have also started to learn a few things but still far away from the objectives !😅.
May anyone know how much a parfumer may charge for 300pcs ( 100 ml) liquid parfume plus fregnances .
-And is possible to ship that from other countries or it is needed any kind of certification or labels for shipping dangerous materials ?
Thank you all❤
Christmas fir tree, rom, cinnamon and clove go hand in hand. :)
👌
Regarding your raw material shop, is access on the EU market in sight?
Not in the near term, possibly in the medium term (so maybe 1 year but not in months)
Exactly I am from EU as well so I wish to have at least 50 for the begining
@@areseses1773 there are other good suppliers in the EU it's just that I am in particular interested in his absolutes selection
Sounds very interesting, sadly I can't get a few of those materials, and living in The Netherlands, I can't order it from your store yet either.
If you where to add a note of roasted chestnut to the scent, what material(s) would you recommend?
Would love to see more "materials guide videos" as well btw. Like the ones you did with the Cherry and Caramel notes as well.
And I think the Chestnut note would be a nice winter season edition to that series of videos)
Interesting idea, unfortunately I have no idea how to go about making the smell of a chestnut. And sorry about that :(
How do you find the safe percent of scent to use from Perfumers Apprentice? Their SDS is quite confusing
Check the IFRA limit online
Hi Sam, I recently ordered some perfume, and after delivery scent is really faint. Seller said that molecules are disturbed during delivery. Can you please tell me how to fix this .....?
It was probably just some bad perfume, delivery does not disturb molecules
@@sammacer Thanks for the reply Sam, much appreciated 🤗.
What would be used as tiare flower in perfumery? cant find anywhere.
and also white musk?
i am new but i made my first one i called it Christmas love bug.
Lovely
Cool post formula…unless it’s going to market😉
I’ve been thinking about making a fragrance that has dihydromyrcenol, lemon and bergamot as the top note Hedione , Helional and Calone as the middle note and iso e super, ethylene bradsylate and Ambroxan as the base note do you think this would work
It's very simple accord Dhm and lemon it's very high citrasy it would be very citras farmula
Dhm and bargamot good
@@LaffanTaff so should I just take out bergamot or lemon
@@LaffanTaff and also do you have any suggestions for a more unique accord for a aquatic top note
That sounds fine
Sam, when are you going to answer me?
About what?
@@sammacer about discord, I can't enter your server
@@sammacer 🤷🏻
for knowledge thumbs up, promoting own site referring as third party site is not cool bro
One thing really gets on my nerves is the numbers what they even mean that formula makes no sense why show it every and not explain what it means
Just focus on the g column since that’s the amount you’re actually adding in with your scale. Think of it like the bigger the number, the more of the thing so it’s stronger
