Hi Lynden, Absolutely love your you tube lessons, as soon as I heard this lick there was a film that came to my mind, Isn't it the theme tune to Midnight Express 😊
Hello Lyden. A lick I didn't heard before but nice to remember thanks. I tried to find a youtube channel aboit Charly. I only find a 6 yo video but he had the talent, I'm sure now he is fabulous. Exited to discover what he does now. I hope my 8 yo son will follow the same way. Congrat to the musician familly ❤.

Many congrats on your son. Excellent videos but is there any way in the future you can also write out the music notation as well as the note letters? Unfortunately, the note letters do not show the rhythm or the length of the note. Many thanks.
Thank you and that’s a great suggestion. My issue is that I’m using iMovie and to be very honest I’m not experienced with editing enough to know how to do that really well just yet. That’s why I’ve created the free download, but I’m constantly learning and looking to improve what I’m doing. The other reason is that I’m fundamentally an ear player and would encourage you to learn the lick by ear and then experiment with different phrasing until you find a way that resonates with you, does that make sense? 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷
@@lyndenblades ha, you’re right. It is different. I just thought you were playin CMAR wrong, but I didn’t want to correct you publicly.(because you’re a Better player than me) lol.
Thanks Lynden! This lick is deceptively similar to the "Cry me a river lick" ua-cam.com/video/tzva95H0T1M/v-deo.html , ua-cam.com/video/xiIc3a2QJ0Q/v-deo.html Have a nice one! 🙂
Thank you Lynden. Great video and fabulous lick, which I shall certainly try out. Thanks also to your son for the arrangement.
Thank you so much Chris and I’ll pass your thanks on the Charlie 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

I love this lick ! It’s not the cry me a river lick .. the second note on the Cry me a river is the root on the descent .

i think i have heard dexter gordon play a lick similar to this on cheesecake
Yep, he uses it a lot in a lot of tunes. Also known as the “cry me a river” lick because that’s the song where it first appears as part of the melody.
It’s a widely used phrase! 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷
The Cry me a River lick is slightly different 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷

Because it sounds like “I’ll have a banana” 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷
