  • Second Part of Max Payne an Noir Third Person Shooter game, that brought bullet mode into gaming in 2001.
Max Payne is a classic action-shooter game that was released in 2001 by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games. The game follows the story of Max Payne, a former NYPD detective who becomes a fugitive after being framed for the murder of his wife and daughter by a group of drug dealers. Max is on a quest for revenge and justice, as he uncovers a conspiracy involving a new designer drug called Valkyr, a corrupt faction of the police, and a powerful crime family.
The game is known for its cinematic style, dark and gritty atmosphere, and innovative gameplay mechanics. One of the most distinctive features of the game is the use of Bullet Time, a slow-motion effect that allows Max to dodge bullets, aim more accurately, and perform stylish moves while shooting his enemies. The game also features graphic novel-style cutscenes that narrate the story and show Max’s inner thoughts and emotions.
The game has received critical acclaim and has won several awards, such as the BAFTA Games Award for PC Game in 2001. The game has also spawned two sequels, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne in 2003 and Max Payne 3 in 2012, as well as a film adaptation in 2008 starring Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne. The game has been re-released for various platforms, such as PlayStation 2, Xbox, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 4. In 2022, Remedy and Rockstar Games announced a remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S.
