I discovered her today and have been obsessively watching all her videos. Her voice is incredible, her performance…so much energy and power while sitting on a stool- that’s crazy. The band is so good too!!! Come to NYC!!! ❤ new fan! @thegigivibesband
She is queen of all genre, because they do live streaming so the songs are usually requested.
She can sing anything-dirty and raw to refined, but in my opinion, her strengths, which differentiate her from others, are jazz and rock. She’s a great mimic and colors her covers by shredding her voice, jazzing up the melody, and changing the timbre of her sound.
She and the boys in the band are extremely close. During the pandemic, they lived together in her mom’s house (Gigi cares for her mother who has cancer) rehearsing daily and livestreaming in a tiny studio across the street.
Highly recommended: Through the Fire, L-O-V-E, Fly Me to the Moon, and Better days.
Ther live performance is from her and her own band's channel - Gigi de Lana and The GG Vibes. They do weekly livestreams with a repertoire of songs and inject on-the-spot requests from the live chat for 2 hrs. So this particular performance is just a clip from their 2-hr livestream.
Gigi's version of UnHoly made me check Sam Smith's original version again. I kinda forgot what it sounds like originally. Hehehe 😁 I def like Gigi's version 💯 % ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Gigi is a model, actress, dancer , fantastic vocalist, producer arranger, who’s been competing in the PH since the age of 6 yo. She feels all the lyrics of her vocals. Her tone & intonation is designed to add to the lyrics of the song. She talented & amazing. She can sing jazz, R&B, Pop rock & roll and now she can add alternative rock . She is just superb amazing, mate.
Please check her cover Fly to the Moon by Frank Sinatra .. The rendition was cool …

This is going to sound insane after that performance, but her cover of "Fly Me to the Moon" is one of my all time favs. Much like Morissette, Gigi is an actress, and inhabits a song in such a way that you think she was born to do whatever she is doing right now. Her version becomes the standard.

Remember the name you'll never forget her once you've seen most of her covers. She has so many sides on her voice that every cover is different from the other. She's got all the musical styles from oldies to current from ballads to rock to RNB and jazz and can sound like Mariah,Alanis, Avril and even The Carpenters she was unbelievable. She even destroyed a Sinatra song once and it's up to you guys to discover more of her greatness.
I could be wrong, but I don't think the tempo change in the beginning was intentional, which is what makes the tempo change so cool. I think the drummer came in hot, and her body movement and clapping was trying to slow it down, then she set the tempo with her hands when she put her hands up and started singing. I think that's also why she didn't start the first time around. Anyway, that's my take from being a drummer myself, and being tuned into other players' timing, dynamics etc. real time.
Exactly! You are absolutely correct! She also said "Go Roms!" soon after she started singing which is directed to the drummer, Romeo.

They always have million viewers every time they do live sessions. Also, she started to get recognized here in PH when she joined a TV singing contest as each of her performance was insane. She's a great artist. 😊

I love Gigi. She entertained me during COVID. She's so versatile and I love her tone. She can be jazzy and rock and also sweet. She first got me hooked with her cover of several Carpenters songs. She has so many amazing covers and she does them while livestreaming.

Gigi de Lana and The Gigi Vibes had gone viral during the height of the pandemic, if I'm not mistaken. While she and her band were doing their online live performance with a fairly small audience compared to now, her band decided to play a trick on her by playing the chorus over and over and raising the bars higher and higher while she's singing a Tagalog song, "Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita", and Gigi just rose to the challenge and kept on singing with such insane high notes. From that moment on, she became popular and their channel gained more audience not only in the Philippines, but abroad as well. Many foreign reactors were so amazed by her talents in singing. She and her band always gives her own flavors to all the songs they cover and that's what kept many glued to their channel. She is one very versatile performer and het band rocks too.

Yup, she is one of the best singers here in the Philippines. Her naturally raspy voice is very flexible- can do rock, ballads, etc., and her range is astronomical, but effortless. To think she is even in a relaxed, seating position.😀And her band is also great!

This is raw and she is just so skilled. Laidback and. She still rocks ❤ cool! Her control also 💯It sounds original. Trivia: before she sipped water she said “ Oh my I am not ready! And she smiled nervously. Then the band played, she told them it’s too fast, then the band adjusted on the spot, the first key she executed she even adjusted too. This is so genuinely technically insane! I love your reaction about being it live and they are all in sync. ❤ they live altogether in one house btw. That studio is a one car garage which they converted. They are like family. love it!
The songs she sang are mostly done live. She does livestreams where she sings request by viewers impromptu/ unrehearsed. That is why you'd see her scrolling thru the lyrics on her tablet while singing. Her livestreams last for 2-3 hrs where she sings around 10-15 or even 20 songs. This Unholy that you reacted to, was sang live. This was just a cut from her livestream. Just 1 song from a set of songs she sang that time.

There's so many good artist in Philippines but the new artist that were really making it through are those who make their own songs too. In terms of vocals there's lots of random filipino who can sing well even get to belt and gave different vocal techniques just by singing on their own maybe while growing up coz it's in the culture having karaoke machines at home and it's like part of every filipino love music
That live band vibes with great singers are vert common in the Philippines. You will find them all over.
It is the first time I saw her sing in this style. Usually she sing like classic pop around 1990s with a little bit jazzy. She do a lot live singing on youtube with her band.

The best times I've had were in dingy hole-in-the-wall bars with raw garage bands in the worst parts of town. This is what this feels like! dunno why but gives me the vibe of the "Titty Twister" bar in "From Dusk til Dawn".

Great performance! You can really see she has acting experience.I haven't heard her do other rock type songs, but she covers a wide range of song styles. Many of her covers are excellent, but I have also heard others where she sounds a bit off pitch and imprecise. Sorry, Gigi lovers, just my personal observation. I do love her fan favorites, which we all know, and those are superb. She's very charismatic, plus awesome band.
