Check to see if Earthlink Fiber is in your area. They have synchronous fiber with no data caps. I think they want you to us their gear too. But there may be a workaround for that.
You should have saved the blah blah blah motion for when you were talking about bandwidth vs. speed. If you knew the problem was having too many devices on WiFi why did you call AT&T just to get upsold? Secondly moving the box to the garage adds hours to the install, if a new drop has to be run to do it, it adds contractor cost. Techs typically get multiple installs per day with service windows for each. They don’t have time for your pet projects.
Unlikely AT&T will give/provide the BGW320 for the low 300 Tier plan. This gateway is typically reserved for those on the 2Gbps or 5Gbps plan, as it has a specific 5Gbps Ethernet port on the back, need to provide a device (usually a switch) with the 2-5 Gbps speeds the customer is paying for. Its possible you could talk them into it, but with the chip shortage, they are not suppose to give it to those under 1Gbps (even those at that lower speed don't often get it either)
@@jaggsta Yes, on fiber, as there are only 2 Gateways that support this service. So if a Tech only had the 320, well then that is what you will get. But calling customer service, when you have a functional gateway, and it's already installed, they won't just send you out a different one per request. Though the tech should not have installed the 320 (again as its suppose to be reserved for the 2Gbps+ plans) they install what they have most often
Not sure I agree with the need for a wired Ethernet for most devices in a home network. A modern WiFi6 AP/Router/Mesh can handle most homes with Gb and below ISP services.
Wow, that was a good review and entertaining for a boring subject. 👍

Thanks for watching, don't believe the lie!
@@alexeatmusic Nice tunes!!!🎶
I’ll be adding more content soon, thanks for the info.
Thanks, it’s a learning curve. Just wanted to put content out without talking about myself for half of the video.
I mean just cancel ATT if you gotta complain

there is a work around for AT&T gear too but requires Prosumer/enterprise hardware
Nice video

Got fiber 3 weeks ago tech put BGW320-505 on ATT Access 100 Fiber plan.
