Little Cherry’s grandmother succumbed to cancer seven months after the toddler’s tragic fall to her death from an eighth-floor window after she was forgotten in the lift by her nanny. The deceased elderly woman, who had stomach cancer, could not recover from the grief, as she blamed herself for being the reason the child was left to the nanny. The girl’s father has filed a police report for the child’s accident, and the investigation is still ongoing.

This is genuinely one of the saddest things I've ever seen. It's not her fault, she cannot blame herself for anything. It's the nannys negligence. Rip granny rip child.

Not the nanny's negligence at all. Many people blamed her looking at her phone, but she wasn't looking at it when the incident occurred. The issue is the elevator and the sub-par software. The thing started to close its door IMMEDIATELY when the nanny was out, and she had no time to reach or the poor girl. Then the elevator opened on a random floor for no reason. The poor woman had no time to react. She had gotten the little scooter toy out of the elevator first to make space for the girl to get out, but the elevator started to closed less than half a second after.
Why is it whenever there is an accident with an elevator its almost always in China?

They really didn’t get a break. To hear that the grandma blamed herself, seeing the father age so much in such a short time and then hearing the nanny is on bail is just too much. That poor girl and her poor family. They really suffered enough. I hope the father and the rest of the family recovers. To lose their daughter and their mother in half a years time can seriously damage a person. It’s not easy to deal with grief. They must be heartbroken. Here in my country Pakistan we don't tell our elders if some tragedy had happened because here they have week hearts and of we suddenly tell them the bad news they might die as well so what professionals do here in hospital is that if anyone loved ones have passed away in a car accident they always call the father or the brother. After that they come check the body if it's their loved one once identified the hospital instructs not to tell the bad news to family members who are going through medical issues. After that it depends on the dad or brother who to tell and who not to tell. Here sometimes it is kept hidden from mothers who have history of medical history just to keep them safe and they till the day they die don't know one of her child has passed away a long time ago. But still this only depends on the father or brother of the victim. And if the hospital is professional they just give u a little tip to not just tell the people with medical conditions

This story made me cry the first time I saw Little Cherry shouting frighteningly and helplessly in the elevator. Now that her grandma has passed, and I am really sorry for the whole family. First, it was clearly the negligence of nanny. Second, the property manager should have inspected the floors carefully and have to know how and where the potential danger might arise.
