    This is a nice rig and you explain everything very well. However It's not quite as easy as you make out because you can still see reflections of the pole . I would suggest covering the end part of the pole with black velvet. A good black velvet is so black it's easy to get rid of in curves. I've used Black velvet for years in this way it's also great as a black background.

    This is great! Incredible results! I will be carrying out something very similar in the near future. I found there may be a slight hint of unwanted reflection on the broom pole and the black back board. I came across an impossibly dark matte paint called Black 4.0 from culture hustle. This is apparently the blackest paint in the world. This removes all unwanted reflections wherever you apply it, making post edit much easier.
    Keep up the great work !!

    super cool dustin, as usual :)
    do you have an idea how to get rid of the pole? even rotoscoping couldn't fix it perfectly, cause you cannot see the inside of the heel area which is blocked by the pole.
    but other than that it's a fantastic tutorial

      @workphlo  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you! To get a perfect render without that issue, you could angle the shoe up more or pop the tongue more to cover that gap/issue and get a clean pole free shot.

    Very good video. My only note is that it would have made sense to put a particular light facing the logo at exactly the same angle as the camera, so that when the logo faced the camera then it was lit in the best possible light (pun intended). Then you wouldn't need that curves layer in post. Great video though. Thanks.

    Fantastic to see this approach compared to my usual fishing line hanging training shoe against a green screen. I wondered about the issue and challenges removing whatever you insert into the shoe to suspend it I'm presuming here careful placement to avoid obscuring part of the product plus some extra masking that needs animating

      Green painters tape goes a very long way towards removing a magic arm using a chroma key node as well...

    Not sure if you possibly answered this question in another video but something I've been trying to figure out since I started watching your videos is how do you get the plants and all the other stuff in the room not reflected? I know this video is about a shoe but in your videos shooting bottles and glass which are very reflective (I'm still trying to figure out how to block all that stuff when I shoot) still your photos are clean. Any tips are welcome. Thanks for your videos.

    I have a question. I am learning at the moment to use Premiere Pro and CapCut, I want to focus on video shooting products, so my question is, what is your advice about a type of camera that I should use? My budget is not very well, so can afford a camera at the MAX price of 600 euros.

    Thank you mate. Very great technique. But I got a question! How did you get peach black background? What aperture and sensor size you used to achieve that black background?don't you get diffraction at higher f-stops?
    Cheers

    • @kratos5548
      @kratos5548 8 місяців тому

      yea i cant figure that out so i got rid of the stick and painted clear nylon string black, suspended the front and rear of the shoe with 2 black strings shoe at the same angle like the vid. d string blended in so good with black velvet bg no need to remove. thats my long road but got there. if u find how to do it in aftereffects please share lol.
