Even the movies can teach us some things. Since the movies usually 'teach' us about the herbalists and spiritualists, that was what came to mind first. If they had storylines about first aid measures in movies, it's very likely that would have come in handy.

As someone in the educational sector, it is very obvious to me that our curriculum is sh*tty. And Many schools are not offering practical and necessary education. I'm Japan, children from ages 3 till 10 are being taught health and security education practically, they are being taught hygiene, courtesy and social norms practically. In Nigeria all we want to do is to force children to memorise things that they will present on end of the year party day. It's ridiculous 😒

I shared these same key issues with my husband last night and we concluded with the prayer that may Nigeria not happen to us... very sad...and what's worse is that the necessary lessons may not be learnt and changes implement to prevent a repeat cause like you said and I agree a thousand percent that, we do not value human lives! This was preventable! Four lives lost due to gross negligence on many people's parts. I pray God comforts their loved ones.

Thank you for this, when we say "may Nigeria not happen to us" it is worthy of note that it is the citizens that refused to do the right thing here, refused to be enlightened not Federal government now. Because how, how on earth people will consider sacrificing to one spirit to save human life when they supposed to take him to hospital. May we never be in wants of good and enlightened people.

Juniour Pope is dead. I am still in disbelieve. I loved him. He was one of my favourites with that infectious chuckle. I stayed all night last night listening to the videos and crying real tears. Funny thing is i dont know him i only see him in movies. Second funny thing is i live all the way in Jamaica and the funniest of all I dreamt about him this early morning about 3am on my birthday. Dreamt he was right here in Jamaica as my friend sightseeing and i was saying how come they said he is dead but here he is. If my brother had died i couldn't be more heartbroken. Rest in Peace my African friend. Your wings were ready but you were not. You will live on 🇯🇲through your movies ❤❤❤😂🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 And to all the others who died my condolences to the family. May Juniour Pope's wife and sons find comfort through his many lovely memories.

That guy that recorded himself talking about ritual is just an example of how most Nigerians thinks they believe in rituals, churches, mosque etc without actually applying the knowledge they got from school.
Today is another day to remind us that going to a good school no be scam

Hi@mrs adeola thanks for this show. We have no regards of life in Nigeria. We do not have any regards for human life . This is obi from Tampa Florida USA . My little sister died in the hands of a fake pastor with my step mother who was a nurse who instead of taking her to the hospital or administering first aid called her pastor my sister had a brain surgery earlier and was having occasional seizures she fought for her life for 12 hours before her death . She died the same day she turned 22 still hurts I will never be the same. I am so sorry condolences to his wife and kids.

There should be a national law on that, and must be enforced. In such events, there should be a medics, first aider, and a civil defence official for any public events or gathering. If that is defaulted , there should be some sort of penalty. This laws must be implemented.

Ok o! That’s it. Next trip to Nigeria, we will be teaching CPR. I never heard of CPR in those days till I came to the U.S. Then I understand that many people have died in Nigeria because this very important initial intervention was never performed to save people’s lives. May God help our people.

Everywhere in the world, the first person responsible for your life is yourself first. Junior Pope is a rich man, why can't he hire a jacket since it was not provided, and you can't swim and there is no diver too in the boat. I also heard that the boat is meant to carry 6people, why would he, a popular figure like him sit with other little little actors making it a total of 16people, RIP to him

Adeola, our people go to School, but never educated. Most Nigerians are just empty but talk big of themselves as though they know a lot. This speaks to the fact that our education curriculum is overdue for review to reflect current global realities.

This is so sad. The said don't talk bad about your country .But it is difficult not to complain or talk bad. There are water ambulance how many do we have in Nigeria ? there should be police patrolling the local waterways to check water taxis just like you check cars that are not safe to be on the road . i can go on and on the basic things for the common man that we don't have in Nigeria. you take a man from the accident place to the mortuary who is still alive how do you even explain this ?. This will go around the world fast, Because this is social media era .How will the world look at us [ Already we see a lots of negative things about Nigeria all over the world and our leaders are also not helping matters ]? Sometimes i just don't want to read or watch things about Nigeria anymore. You pray everyday that maybe things will change soon or in the near future but rather is getting worse . Everyday you only hear how Billion was stolen by politicians money meant to make this beautiful country great . Every new leader new problems on top of the existing problems. [ from frypan to fire ] This young man will still be alive if first Aid was on hand on time . I don't know if the problem also make the people also stupid and confused. Look all the time they take the man from the accident spot to the herbalist instead of Hospital . No one among the whole group had any idea of FIRST AID. BOB Marley said don't jump into the water if you can't swim. Don't take this type of boat if you can not swim . May their souls rest in peace .
