Erroll, UN TALENTO MERAVIGLIOSO ! Il Suo Pianoforte lo Suona come avesse Una Grande Orchestra, Piena di SWING JAZZISTICO CON ACCORDI DA BRIVIDO ! GRANDE, GRANDE GENIO MONDIALE !!!
Bravo Erroll ! Always my favourite jazz pianist, no one could swing like Erroll. Died far too young in January 1977 aged just 55. Such a shame, as he should have been around for another 30 years. Concert By The Sea remains the biggest selling piano jazz album of all time. RIP Erroll Garner, your music will continue to delight people for years to come.
Erroll's version of his own composition "Eldorado" is just incredible. He and his three companions here had recorded the album "Gemini" in 1971, which includes two tracks in which Erroll plays harpsichord too.
Marvelous and extraordinary talent. We hears him perform years ago and regret not knowing how better to demonstrate full appreciation for his enormous talent. Parallels with components of improvisation were evident for us then. Think about the geography of Italy.
Simply heart warming wonderful music, should be shared with all jazz lovers. The great musicians often pass on way too soon but thank goodness for UA-cam that we can discover these treasures.
What a pity that this clip does not include "For once in my life" that was the last piece they played that night. Best version ever of that wonderful standard. Three minutes of pure fire, absolute magic. Erroll, the greatest.
Io sono legato alla sua musica da quando scoprii “ magician” uno dei suoi dischi più originali, andava verso James Brown in modo personalissimo, sono veramente debitore nei confronti di questa superba formazione.
In your description u left out the gem in the combo, Jose "Buyú" Mangual!!!!!!!! Bongosero virtuoso but here hes playin a luscious CU-bop shweeeeeng on tumbadora. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing! -Guaño

This bassist is far the best habing played with Erroll. Together with José Mangual, extraordinary. I had the chance to see and listent to them in concerts

Incredibile il livello di artisti che un tempo portava la RAI... oggi purtroppo tanta troppa spazzatura...

Favoloso, straordinario, in somma una meraviglia! Grazie mille per aver postato questo gioiello, Gianni Scapellotti.

The final theme "Eldorado" is simply the Fire!
Love Errol! On fire! The audience was strange. Seemed to often applaud at the wrong time.

Is that some kind of opera thing where they intermittently cheer during the performance?
no, to me a wrong remote asking for applause.......those were the times of Italian television in mid seventy....
Are you kidding? In jazz performances the applause happens impromptu, after some notable element of improvisation.
In jazz, yes, happens regurarly at pretty much every performance
In classical music it is the opposite, no clapping until the end

No one and i mean save perhaps Art Tatum could make a piano talk like the late great Erroll Garner
