i swear,, since the first time i heard h"er on "sing it back" is was taken back....then i started watching a few of her other songs and live performances, i realised how talented, rare, soulful and keeps a stage perfomance that is amazing.... i need new tracks....
Strange that the live version is more difficult than the album version. I really like this arrangement, it's strange and funky, but the album version is a lot more accessible.
The Powerbooks are used to sequence/process live samples from Róisín's second mic (and other mics), provide vocal effects, as well as run soft synths so that Eddie's keyboard and other tracks have the right sounds for each song. The setup is a bit temperamental but still very cool. Check out the video I posted of Sinking Feeling so see a good example of the system in action.
I like her fashion sense. It's a bit avant garde, BUT not over the top like Gaga. And it has more of a down to earth feel, not overly labored over and detailed to the nth degree. And it looks HOT! Tho, I'd like to see her in grunge (flannel and jeans) sometime just to shock people.
is it me or this song is mixed live with the help of those notebooks, if it is so the CONGRATS to all the team over there, live mixing is pretty hard to master

they were refering to her 2nd album, not the first one which this is from, they didnt say this era was pop...
