Hydronauts vs. Stingrays is my childhood! I have wanted the giant sets for so long!
Mercari is a great place to get old sets like these. Also, because they are not popular sets you can get them for a reasonable price too
I dont think that missing plot is a bad thing. Quite opposite. I find that a very good thing about the old 80s and 90s lego. Nowadays it's all about the licensed themes like LOTR, Harry Potter, Star wars where you know exactly who is who. Back then you just had your imagination.
These were my favorite sets from when I was a kid. It really captured my imagination and made for great play!
Aquazone were my first lego sets too!
The shark submarine was my favourite set as a kid.
It was so cool, right?!
0:44 I do know. In some media and I believe some of the sets box texts themselves, they are fighting over the crystals called Hydrolators for survival. So aside from their shining nature, the crystals are a resource for them to breathe underwater.
Thank you for these extra details!
I love this Lego set!!!
Aquaraiders have their name to blame for being mistaken as pirates, but comics and descriptions for the subtheme at the time painted them as a careless contractors for a larger corporation (hence the emphasis on saws, drills, and buckets)
Being antagonists moreso to the greater surrounding environment than any human parties, like real oil companies
I think the bearded hydronaut is a hybrid aquashark
Really thought no one remembered these sets but me!
You're not alone my friend
I actually still have couple of my aquazone theme legos. one of the naughts and one of the sharks.
I have recently started reacquiring my old sets. I just picked up Recon Ray!
Adventurers theme please? Love this video!
Work life has paused some of my work here but you've got it!
Man! So many memories you just booted back up in my brain haha I loved the Aquazone sets. I was a kid in the 90s and could only ever afford the smaller to mid sets for birthdays or whatever but I loved my 6155 set, I was also obsessed with sharks. But one of the coolest sets I always wished I could afford was 6198 at 3:11 that set was/is SO SICK!! Love the video man!
Comments like these are why I like making these videos! Love seeing the flames of childhood reignite. Keep on keepin' on friend.
Nice video, great quality! Keep it up.
I loooove Aquazone ❤
My favorite Lego theme ever.
Original Aquazone ('95/'96) was sooooo much better than 2nd line ('98) in my opinion.
Neptune Discovery Lab is for me a TOP 5 90s set and the minifigs are awesome.
Hydronauts have terrible colors for me (grey doesn't fit here at all) and UGLY faces. And their base (6199) is way worse than its predecessor (6195) 🫤
Definitely one of my favorite lines! I really loved the Stingrays, they just looked so cool
@@thatchazguy I'm totally Aquanauts guy, but Stingrays was a good addition. They were wild and savage looking. Interesting and unique villains
The whole line was wild and I loved every bit of it!
