I've always loved his designs. This one looks great and I agree get rid of the 2 screws and make the skull clip right again. Great review 👍

I know it is probably a lot to ask being he includes the second clip already with the knife but it might not be AS bad if he matched the hardware to the color of the titanium so they don't stand out as much on the skull? I love the hard edges and unapologetic attire of this knife. The screws kill it a little.
This is not a bad idea. I have the Jade G10 and black coated titanium exclusive from BHQ and the black clip and black screws look pretty descent.
With ya on the clip. Old skull style without the hardware showing is way better 🤘🤘
That might be a very slight hollow because usually you get a curved transition line like that when the back is hollow. Most flat to flat have a straight line. That's an easy way to spot hollow back grind on tantos.
Really a great looking knife and I'd agree on the clip and the choil but at least with the choil it's more of a sharpening choil than a finger choil which I'm fine with as long as you can get a good grip on there handle without it. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I totally agree with you about the skull clip and 2nd clip, if you don’t like the skull clip then buy a different knife. I’ve always thought the skull clip is what makes it a “Chaves” knife. I’ve been loving the tanto Liberation, Chaves and Reate do an amazing job on their grinds, and their tanto on the Liberation is probably my favorite of all time. Great review man, keep ‘em coming
When Chaves does a sharpening choil and not a full finger choil, the size is because Reate sucks at doing proper sharpening choils so he has to make it that big in his design. But definitely agree to just make it a full size choil.

Hollow grind primary, flat grind at the tip!
To get something different I got the tanto BHQ exclusive with green micarta then everything else PVD the Sangre I got a BHQ exclusive too but that one was CF and everything else PVD. Same with some of my other Chaves like I have the blue ano NC Blade Scapegoat try to do the same with Pena since I have at least one of every x series made so far but the clip point fixed blade lol. Lot of those are Cranes exclusives but some from Knifecenter, BHQ, SMKW and whoever else. Figure if I am gonna have one might as well have one different then the ones everybody else has.
Love my older carbon fiber version without the screws.
I don't know, maybe if someone made devil horn pocket clip screws. My first impression was they look like horns.
He's definitely selling way more knives now since he included another clip. But he did ruin the skull clip

I've heard a bunch of people say they could never carry a Chaves because of the clip.
@@AudibleVisibIe those ppl don’t like the designs anyway. So changing the clip doesn’t change their minds. I seriously bet its like 7 ppl who bought one because of the new clip option. Most ppl dont pay attention enough to know there’s a second clip. 😂

Agree 100% with all your assessments. The head screws just ruin the coolest clip out there!
The back spacer should accept a lanyard ( with a skull bead of course).
Still luv the design.
I feel the skull clip is what makes a chaves a chaves and if skull is too scary get yourself an opinel. Really dig the aggressive nature of Chaves designs but agree 100 the screws need to go . Thanks lefty !

"If you don't like the knife...then don't buy it"... no truer words have ever been spoken by a UA-cam "influencer".
When can we stop complaining about flippers, pocket clips, steel types, overall size, screw types, blade shapes, etc. and just list the knife's characteristics...and let the buyer decide if any one or two design features are a decision killer.
I believe that most of the UA-cam chatter goes in one ear and out the other...most listeners are interested in the way the knife looks in hand... a virtual "feel" for the knife by a professional knife collector ( since most of us are unable to handle a knife before we purchase the knife on-line).
I sometimes turn down the volume...and enjoy the videos even more when not listening to the chatter.
I know that most UA-cam knife "influencers" will not agree with me, but they usually have a different point of view than us lowly knife "purchasers".
😂. If you don’t like complaining you came to the wrong place. I think ive made an artwork out of it 😆. I do the reviews to give my opinion. Yes im happy it helps ppl along the way but its mostly for me to get my thoughts out so i think you have to look at it differently
If you take away the skull clip, the knife is incredibly generic and boring. If you keep the skull clip, its really corny and lame. Hard pass either way. But I guess if you want it to match the punisher skull on your pickup truck it could be a good option.
