This would be a good coal ship. It is actually a fun ship and despite the horrible sigma, Cits seem to be pretty common with it and the secondaries on it are just fun.
I was so hyped recently when Almirante Grau returned. I wanted that thing since it was announced for testing and then it came in sequential bundles only :( I have enough money to go through stuff like this almost every day, but it's so scummy and i refuse to support these shady tactics.
I got this ship right from the 1st release and I can NOT complain about the main gun accuracy. You are NOT lucky, it is consistent accurate. I got a 32% hit rate on the main guns and compared to a Pommern (26%) and Mecklenburg (35%) it is no luck that gives you the citadel hits. However, if you keep it angled between 20-30° it is very tanky, but the 360° back turrets are hard on the edge to expose your broadside enough to get hard hitted by any ship with good AP The secondaries NEED IFHE, because the 27mm penetration is important, especially against cruisers or against a Schlieffen and you don't lose much of the fires. 28% hitrate for the secondaries, compared to Schlieffen (26%), Iwami (30%), Pommern (21%), Mecklenburg (23%) makes it a reasonable secondary brawler, but its low HP pool and the vulnerable broadside together with the low speed means it shouldn't get caught in a crossfire situation. I had some 1 vs 1s in randoms and I was surprised that I was able to kill: a Schlieffen, a G.K., a Pommern, a Rupprecht and Iwami and a lot of cruisers who thought this is an easy ship to kill. All in all a solid ship and I like to play it from time to time, but of course there are better ships in game
@@EvoraGT430 If you kite ships like PQ did with the Schlieffen, you full pen the bow and thats a lot of damage when you see how accurate these secondaries are. And thats not a theory, I use IFHE on my Navarin. Pretty much no cruiser got higher bow armor than 27mm and you can always pen it. And you forget that only side of the secondaries is accurate with the skill, the other side still sprays and you hit a lot on the bow and stern of a ship I also use IFHE on my Flandre and it is a huge difference. Both ships can play also against T7 BBs, where the armor isnt as thick as on the T9/T10
So glad that i got Navarin when they sold her as she is in the premium shop, she is slow, but my god her secondaries are hellishly fun to play. The best part is that It was PQ that convinced me to try her out
From my experience BBs with underwater citadel are only protected with it on short ranges. You can easily spam citadels to american BBs even with ships like Stalin by aiming at an upper belt at a very high range - assuming you pen it, your shell goes right into the citadel, while on other ships like light cruisers etc. it might overpen through the bottom. Also, guys, remember that lootboxes are basically a casino - if you have disposable income and wanna try your luck go ahead, but don't expect a ship. Wargaming's business model is very cringe and I honestly think that 100 Euro ships would still net them lots of money, so even from the business side I can't understand lootboxes being the main thing. It's very weird, I used to gamble hard for like 2 ships in this game and both times got it under their called price + bonus content like flags or camos. It just can't be better than regular open shop. It's just weird.

There are better free secondary focussed ships than navarin. Rupprecht and Los Andes are both free and amazing. Don't waste money on this. I wouldnt buy it even if they sold it straight up.

IFHE wont work on anything other than light cruisers. Secondaries aim at the centre of the ship.

As pointed out, the main guns on this ship are that special kind that will entirely miss a 4km stationary broadside BB, its overhyped.
From my experience BBs with underwater citadel are only protected with it on short ranges.
