i know it’s the most generic glass animals song but he can’t do a glass animals video without listening to heatwaves. also season 2 episode 3 is a banger he should listen to that as well.
This one’s pretty obscure so it’s a bit of a long shot, but I really think you’d enjoy trying to stan The Mechansms! They’re a storytelling steampunk cabaret band, and each of their albums is one complete story based off of a type of mythology (fairytales, greek mythology, arthurian legend, norse mythology). imo the songs are best listened to in the order they’re on the album (album order doesn’t matter) but some songs I think you’d enjoy on their own are: -Tales to Be Told (you should start with this one) -The Ignominious Demise of Dr. Pilchard -Losing Track -Sleeping Beauty -Gunpowder Tim vs the Moon Kaiser Thanks and sorry for writing a small essay in your comments gkgkgsk
oh, absolutely seconding this!! some more possible recommendations for them: there are two longer stand-alone narrative songs (Alice and Frankenstein), which would be a neat way to get a taste of what the albums feel like in about 10 minutes! some other great songs that are separate from the album narratives are "Actaea and Lyssa" and "Swan Song"!
If your fine hearing a band that already disbanded I'd definitely recommend The Mechanisms, they were very interesting in the fact that the band was made up of characters each of the real people played. There music tends to be a sci fi twist of stories like fables, myths, and even things like a reinterpretation of Frankenstein. Since most of there albums are a continuous story some of the self contained singles I'd recommend listening to Stranger, Iphis, Redeath, Pellinore and the Beast, Twisted Threads, Actaea and Lyssa, and Swan Song, if your fine listening to some longer "songs" I'd recommend Alice, Gunpowder Tim vs. The Moon Kaiser, or Frankenstein as they would give you a sense of how the band tells stories in their single story albums. Even if you don't make a video I'd still recommend listening on your own, they're very good and definitely deserved more attention while they were still active.
multiple mechanisms fans in the comments today! wasn't expecting this but I'm really happy about it - I can only back up the recommendations, their music is amazing!

The redesign your logo was from an old written thing from Pepsi. Some of the words from it is stuff they said, the circle being simple and unassuming. Pepsi's logo isn't even that good but the song derives from some of the writtings about it's creation. You can still find it and read it too. Your spot on with the second song. Lifetime achievement award is the first song on spirit phone album. When I listen to it in order it's a really good start to the weirdness the tone and beats. Your not to far oof on lifetime achievement award. It's about the music industry as well as illuminati and all the buzz of Fame. So it's singing about bringing them back alive/not really dead. A lot of the weird awfulness in fame. With the occult mention at the end. Also I believe it was Michael Jackson who had at the end of a music video "I wish to stress that this record in no way endorses a belief in the occult." Bill Watterson make me so uncomfortable jzkxk kskxmc it's good though. It is about creepy fan energy and I think he chose waterson because of him not liking meeting fans as well as being someone people don't normally pay attention or go to. It's the uncomfortable wrongness of people wanting to much when they have enough and should be satisfied. Hearing you talk about this song makes it feel like people understand the point. I've just listened with people who didn't pick it up at all. Soft fuzzy man at first glance seems like about a ghost man. It's more about pushy men who are barley there lightly overbearing but can become harsh winds. It's about abuse of men thinking they are diserving in certain ways. He's nice and sweet to a girl a first till he's not sweet and when she tries to get away he's upset and hurting her. Being a storm that was once a peaceful breeze. He thinks he's soft fuzzy and gentle but holds her lost in place with a clouded fog hiding his intentions.
I also heavily recc Nature Tapes album! Personally Really Cool Wig, Spiral of Ants, and Everybody Loves Raymond are some of my favorite songs from Lemon Demon, though maybe you've listened to them in the last episode ^^
Hell yes!! I would love a video on I Am Become Christmas!! Also, if you do another general one, I would recommend No Eyed Girl, Goosebumps, Ive Got Some Falling To Do, and The Ocean 0u0
The thing I love about redesign your logo is how it starts in reality, but the fancy language of the presenter overtime literally makes you think you purchasing their logo will solve every world problem. Then you're snapped back to reality with "REDESIGN YOUR LOGO, GIVE US ALL YOUR MONEY".
The due to my strong personal convictions part at the end of Lifetime Achievement Award is a reference to when at the begging of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video there is text that reads “Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult”
You've totally gotta listen to the rest of Spirit Phone! It's a really cohesive album, so you could make a video of listening to all of Spirit Phone in order. You could make it an *_October_* video, since the album has a horror vibe - the first half is about *spooky* horrors, and the second half is about *existential* horrors! Also, since you were wondering, it's pronounced "SISS-er-EE-guh" :) And you were right about "Lifetime Achievement Award" being inspired by the dead-musician-hologram thing! -Paintspot Infez Wasabi!
The end of lifetime achievement award is a parody of the start of one of Michael Jackson’s albums, you should listen to the commentary track, it has many fun tidbits about each of the songs just like that!
YES YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i haven’t watched the whole video yet but i already love it!!!!!!!!!! you should definitely do a video about i am become christmas it’s one of my favorite albums :)
I couldn’t stop myself from whispering “MY MAN” when you said you were a triangle boy and gave 3 a shoutout. Three is no doubt my favourite number and triangles are my favourite shapes.
This was really cool! Would love to see you react to some of his older songs, they are generally less supernatural but have really creative lyrics and instrumentation. Would recommend: - The Machine - The Next Dimension - One Weird Tip - Subtle Oddities - Go to Hollywood - Indie Cindy and the Lofi Lullabies
Aaaaaaa you played a song I suggested!!!!! This video was great and ur analysis’s(?) were all p good!! Other songs you could listen too are: As your father i expressly forbid it, I earn my life, Reaganomics (those first 3 in that order, they all kinda connect), Toy Food, and It can get lonely in my mansion, and I’m very curious what you’ll make of Everybody Likes You!
I’d love for you to do another will wood vid! Possibly even a full album of Self-Ish or The Normal Album since they’re very interconnected and story based!
If you're planning on a part 3 then i really reccomend you the songs: "I earn my life", "Modify" and "My trains". "I earn my life" is scary on a very realistic level. "Modify" is crazy and is awesome musically, but "My trains" has to be the most spastic Lemon Demon song out there. Oh and why not top it off with "I've got some falling to do"!
The quote at the end of lifetime achievement award, “due to strong personal convictions I was just stress this record in no way endorses believe in the occult” is a reference to the thriller music video that opened with a disclaimer, “Due to strong personal convictions I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a believe in the occult,” so that’s prolly why you recognize the phrase
Another cool band (which a lot of Lemon Demon fans also seem to like) is Tally Hall. Their songs are usually less creepy but they're a really fun band and I recommend checking them out! Some good songs to try would be: Ruler of Everything The Bidding Turn the Lights Off
yea, lemon demon has like a family and all of the such and as much as i love all of the music i personally just appreciate what has been put out and call it there because of the full concept of bill watterson
You have no idea how much it means to me when others appreciate my favorite artists, especially the not so popular ones. Thank you so much for keeping me at least a bit entertained during my school break, best channel out there :D
Yayyy! I’m so glad you did another Lemon Demon video! And hearing your thoughts on Aurora Borealis was awesome, it’s my favorite song by Neil except for The Machine. I would absolutely love to see an I Am Become Christmas holiday TTS, and maybe I could humbly suggest a Halloween TTS where you listen to some more Spirit Phone, if you want? It’s my favorite album to listen to on Halloween. Anyway, thanks for the video! Sorry if it wasn’t as fun as you were hoping for. So many of these are amazingly fun to jam out to as long as you aren’t thinking too hard about them, lol. For the record, I always took Soft Fuzzy Man as a completely literal tale about a ghost or sentient cloud falling in love, which makes it less disturbing somehow.
Man I'm glad your lsitning to lemon demon! I love hearing your comments about what you think the music is about and just bopping out. Lemon demon kinda became my personality for junior year 😂
And now I came over here to watch this second one and it’s also fantastic! I love how willing you are to take this stuff on, never going just “well that’s silly and surely doesn’t mean anything”. Lifetime Achievement Award is one of my absolute favourites of his and watching you jam out to it was a delight. If you do a part four, I’d definitely recommend When He Died, Sweet Bod, and then also As Your Father, I Expressly Forbid It and I Earn My Life; those latter two are the same POV character and they fill each other out really well. If you’re looking for another band to do with a similar vibe I’d definitely recommend Ludo! Their best known song is probably Love Me Dead, but I’d also recommend Overdone, Whipped Cream, Go-Getter Greg, and Hello, My Name is Your TV. Or, if you’re in a rock opera mood, their EP Broken Bride is a single, gorgeous sci-fi story complete with time travel, pterodactyls, and a zombie apocalypse. (Edit: oh if you do watch/listen to Whipped Cream, go for the original video on the channel ThatLudoVideoThing, not the one on VEVO; the newer video is more professionally done but the original is way funnier)
I’ve seen a couple already in here but I’d love to throw in my vote for the mechanisms. They are a steampunk band whose albums directly tell a story. I would recommend listening to one of the albums in its entirety to get the whole vibe but some other people have put in specific stand on their own song recs
Trying to stand Orion experience They're like a fun kind of 80ish like disco throwback fan I think you fucking love them Cult of Dionysus, obsessed with you, queen of White Lies, Adrian, Starchild, vampire Oh they just released a whatever those small albums are called call Lenda XO which is basically just music by the female vocalist but I want to add two of those songs to Darling and you're so weird are so fucking good I mean every single song that I've heard from that is making me gayer but like those are my favorites I think that's a good spread
You should absolutely do I am Become Christmas. It has amazingly analyzable songs, including one about a mental disorder about Christmas and one about, uh… scientific experimentation that turns people into Santa clones. It’s a wild album, and it’s only 20 minutes, so you might be able to play a bit more of the songs without cutting it out.
Thank you for my life, an I Am Become Christmas holiday video does sound lovely! Part 3? I'm gonna put my vote in for some good and perhaps underappreciated View Monster and Dinosaurchestra songs lol -The Machine (this is my fave LD song of all!! if you can find a vid with the intro included, or maybe find it on it's own (called "untitled (therapy)" it's that much better) -The Ocean -The Afternoon -The Only House That's Not On Fire (Yet) -Sundial -The Next Dimension -Fine -Indie Cindy and the Lo-Fi Lullabies -Dinosaurchestra Parts I, II, and III -White Bread Boyfriend -It Can Get Lonely in My Mansion Also, eventually you should really do a vid with some of the songs from Neil's mashup albums! There's a lot to cover there, and they might be albums better suited to listening straight through than picking from, but some of the standouts are Bustin', Wow Wow, Annoyed Grunt, Crocodile Chop, Space Monkey Mafia, Daft Mouth, Shit, Piss.... I'll stop here but trust me they're bangers lol. A couple of these even have original instrumentals but overall these albums are just a masterclass in mashups lmao
I always thought of the pov character in aurora borealis as the one who somehow started the apocalypse, and whatever other ones they'd seen. gave me real "trying to let someone you want to be close to know about your darkest thoughts/experiences, and hoping they don't run away" vibes. it's an interesting one.
If you’ve listened to spirit phone commentary track, that might be why it’s in your mind, Neil said he and his wife called his cat (who sadly passed away but is the cat in the album cover) “Soft Fuzzy Man”
I would definitely love to see you cover I am become Christmas for the holidays! Spirit phone would also be a good album for Halloween considering it's spooky vibes. I do have few Lemon Demon recommendtions in case you ever want to do a part 3: The ocean Jaws Knife fight My trains You're at the party Most of the songs are really fun, expect however the last two which are pretty creepy, just a heads up. Anyways that's all, I hope your doing well!
The quote at the end of Lifetime Achievement Award is actually a reference to Michael Jackson's song Thriller, as in the official music video, in the title card, it says "due to my strong personal conviction I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult"
All of these comments and I'm only seeing like one person recommend amnesia was her name. Rip. Along with that, some of my personal favorites are Marketland, When He Died, and No Eyed Girl. I know it's been over half a year since this video came out but,,,,, one can hope right
Man Bill!!! This one rocked!!! I love your commentary so much that I often watch these even if I don’t know the band, so when I DO, it’s always a pleasant surprise!!

-Youth
-life itself
-season 3 episode 2
-cocoa hooves
Or their most radio popular Black Mambo
YES!!!
life itself is such a good song i love it

Amnesia was her name
The Machine
Satirists Love Song
SAD (Second favorite)
and lastly, Spiral of Ants (my all time favorite song)
The Satirist’s love song is my all time favorite :)
It always feels like everyone forgets it lol

barely anyone talks about satirists love song its so underrated ❤
You should do a trying stand The Scary Jokes.
- Icicles
- The Daughter of the Fish and the Ram
- Bad at Math
- Pygmalion
-Pink smoke
Are some of my favorites
Oooh did not expect to hear their name here-- have you listened to community gardens?
Emotional Vagrant is also really good!
Yesss!! React to Apple Pie too!!!
yes scary jokes!! i'd recommend a couple others too
-catabolic seed
-community gardens
-funny (this one hurts but man is it good)
-sylvia's just a dying fad
-jeannie, you're a tragedy
-toynbee tiles
(obviously that's a lot for a video so it'd get narrowed down to like 5, but i think having some of their more upbeat-sounding stuff would be good as well as the calmer ones)
or just the entire burn pygmallion album its so good
I recommend Glass Animals! Their vocals are really interesting & their music gives off such a cool vibe!
Here's some songs:
Youth
Pork Soda
The Other Side of Paradise
Gooey
Your Love (Deja Vu)
space ghost coast to coast is great too
Mama's gun is also a great one
i know it’s the most generic glass animals song but he can’t do a glass animals video without listening to heatwaves. also season 2 episode 3 is a banger he should listen to that as well.
All these replies are very true
also take a slice!! that one slaps!
This one’s pretty obscure so it’s a bit of a long shot, but I really think you’d enjoy trying to stan The Mechansms!
They’re a storytelling steampunk cabaret band, and each of their albums is one complete story based off of a type of mythology (fairytales, greek mythology, arthurian legend, norse mythology).
imo the songs are best listened to in the order they’re on the album (album order doesn’t matter) but some songs I think you’d enjoy on their own are:
-Tales to Be Told (you should start with this one)
-The Ignominious Demise of Dr. Pilchard
-Losing Track
-Sleeping Beauty
-Gunpowder Tim vs the Moon Kaiser
Thanks and sorry for writing a small essay in your comments gkgkgsk
oh, absolutely seconding this!!
some more possible recommendations for them:
there are two longer stand-alone narrative songs (Alice and Frankenstein), which would be a neat way to get a taste of what the albums feel like in about 10 minutes!
some other great songs that are separate from the album narratives are "Actaea and Lyssa" and "Swan Song"!
YES PLEASE I LOVE THE MECHS SM
Oh my gosh yessss!!!!! I love this band!
May I also recommend the entire Death to the Mechanisms live show and the entire album of the bifrost incident???
I think Underworld Blues would also be a good suggestion
Bill Watterson is my favorite Lemon Demon song and was my favorite song for a while so i'm so happy to hear your analysis of it!
"I'm a triangle kinda guy, shoutout to Zelda and the number 3."
-Bill
Bill Cipher? Triangle Guy?
@@liamsamples favorite reply I've ever gotten on any comment, you won the internet today
Wasn't johnny simms of the magnus archives in that band?
@@maddiestephenson9564 Yes he played the band member Jonny Deville. Frank Voss(Basiras VA) and Jessica Law(Nikolas VA) were also in the band as Ashes O'Reilly and the Toy Soldier respectively.
Thank You!
pls pls he could listen to a whole album, it could be a special!
Still going to suggest a Will Wood part 2!
- Suburbia Overture
- Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY (Bones)
- Chemical Overreaction/Compound Fracture
- Mr. Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity
- Marsha, Thankk You For the Dialectics, But I Need You To Leave
- Memento Mori: the most important thing in the world
- ...Well, Better Than the Alternative
- Thermodynamic Lawyer, Esq G.F.D.
- Aikido (Neurotic/Erotic)
- Cotard's Solution (Anatta, Dukkha, Annica)
- 6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro/Con)
still going to suggest you share, like, and watch the video because as much fun as i had, it doesn't seem to go well or people aren't being suggested it by yt
Been waiting a while for this one! Yeah SFM is about the stereotypical nice guy or the guy who thinks acting mysterious is attractive (Really recommend checking out the Spirit Phone commentary tracks he made, it's a really interesting look into the mind of Neil Cicierega)
IF you end up doing another Lemon Demon video, may I recommend
-You're at the Party (my personal favorite)
-Jaws
-Spiral of Ants
-Ode to Crayola
-The Machine
-Knife Fight
(also please listen to I Am Become Christmas it's a jam the whole way through)
Ode to Crayola is my favorite :D
YATP and Spiral of Ants are awesome. Probably my favorite songs that Neil's ever made.
The suggestions are really good, I really like The Machine
He'd have so much fun with Knife Fight. I'm a fan of Amnesia Was Her Name too
I second You're at the Party, Spiral of Ants, and Knife Fight!!!
Heyo! If you liked lemon demon you might like Glass Animals!
Some of my favorite songs:
-Agnes
-Youth
-Toes
-Your Love (Deja Vu) (yes that’s the name of one song)
-Helium
I think you’d really like them! If you’re reading this have a great day :D
I don't know if you've done this, but maybe try Stanning The Scary Jokes? Their music is along the line of Neil's, id way, maybe :)
My faves are:
Catabolic seed
Tonybee Tiles
Community Gardens
Icicles
^^^ Definitely!! I'd also recommend
Pygmalion (especially this one, I don't know what it's about but it's fun)
In A Bitter Syrup
Sylvia's Just a Dying Fad
@@inkydiamonds yes yes! And Pink Smoke
ah yes!!! my favorites are catabolic seed, bets against the void, no leverage/no pleasure (i think thats what its called) and apple pie :) their songs are all awesome though, ive listened to almost all of them :D
@@kkkatsuki oh, apple pie is so good!! And same, i usually can't listen to multiple songs by one artist and like all of them, but they're one of the few with which i do
I really recommend listening to the commentary track on the albums, they explain better the meaning of the songs and they're also a little comedy break for all of us
Holy shit man at 13:37 you hit the nail on the head. Neil said on his commentary of Spirit Phone that specifically the Tupac hologram scandal back in 2012 inspired Lifetime Achievement Award and I did not expect you to namedrop holograms specifically but you were spot fucking on. Great reactions as always.
stuff like holograms and CGI resurrecting actors keeps me up sometimes lol
@@thethirdbill Same honestly.
wow im early- Really excited for this! Lemon Demon is just so good and watching ppl react to him is always great
edit: the disclaimer at the end of lifetime achievement award is from Michael Jackson's thriller album
last edit probably: ofc music is art and all interpretations are valid and I like listening to them, but its always funny to me when ppl look for deeper meanings in lemon demon songs, cuz Im pretty sure they're supposed to be taken literally
Some Lemon Demon songs, like Lifetime Achievement Award and Spiral of Ants, have a deeper meaning about, well, society. Others, like Bill Watterson and, like, Knife Fight, and When He Died I believe, are just there for the vibes
@@gabbycatice5582 definitely! Although I think spiral of ants specifically is the one Niel was talking abt on the commentary when he said not all his songs have a deeper meaning lmao
When you get the chance, you HAVE to listen to the whole spirit phone album in order
I think you'd *love* The Stupendium. He's got so much music that I really think would appeal to you.
OH HELL YES STUPENDIUM IS AMAZING
I'd recommend The Oh Hello's particularly:
Soldier, Poet, King
This will End
Constellations
I have made Mistakes
Dear Wormwood
Thus always to Tyrants
Soap
Hello My Old Heart
Trying to stan: bears in trees :D
- Fresh Concrete
- Permanence
- Ibuprofen
- Ramblings of a Lunatic
- I Am Cold
- Reverberate
- Don't Drink Coffee
- Life's a Beach
My favorite is “not Santa Monica”!!
They follow me on tumblr I’ve literally never heard any of their music 😭😭😭
aw i love bears in trees
4 am is one of my favorites!!
I’m glad you checked out more of Neil’s work! His music is really wonderful. :) I’m sure you’re done making videos about his music, but if you want more recommendations just for fun, Ancient Aliens (Spirit Phone), Marketland (Dinosaurchestra), Never-ending Hum (Dinosaurchestra), and Word Disassociation (Damn Skippy) are all excellent listens. And if you wanted a new band to listen to, Tally Hall has a lot of great music! I’d personally recommend &, The Bidding, Welcome to Tally Hall, and Taken for a Ride
OH! I think you should try to stan The Scary Jokes. They are my favorite artist and I love your thoughts and commentary on music, it’s very genuine (Not sure how else to describe it). The Scary Jokes’s music is definitely something that provokes emotion, The songs from the albums ‘April Fools’(personal Favorite) and ‘Bad At Math’ do tend to be more on a heavy side. Burn Pygmalion!!!: A Better Guide to Romance, does follow a bit of a story line
Here are some good songs:
-Pygmalion
-Bets Against The Void
-Sylvia’s Just a Dying Fad
-Icicles
-Feelin So Matryoshka
-Apple Pie
-Bad at Math
-The Daughter of the Fish and The Ram
-Mannequin Adrift
-Starstruck
-Pleasure Cruise
Honestly it’s hard to list some
They’re all so gooddd
Seconding this! "Crushed out on Soda Beach" is another good one, imo
@@charlesfrancisallen730 hell yeah that one is stellar
hell yeah! catabolic seed, toynbee tiles, funny, and jeannie you're a tragedy are another few of my favorites
how did you hit the nail on the head with lifetime achievement award. he literally says in the commentary that the song was spawned from the hologram of tupac
hey you should try stanning khai dreams!
ultimately, sunkissed, summer’s like a dream, lost in you, come true, sandals, and 9pm on a saturday
You should also do “Of monsters and men”
-little talks
-king and lionheart
-Dirty paws
-mountain sounds
I feel like Soft Fuzzy Man is about nice guys who believe they’re owed companionship and affection just for presenting themselves with basic human decency. Really sinister guys who try to sell themselves as innocuous
According to Neil in his commentary track it’s about nice guys who think mysterious and sexy but also about a noxious gas man
If you do more cicierega, I'd love to see reactions to more of his Mouthology songs. Some of my favorites are:
Space Monkey Mafia
Wndrwll
AC/VC
Bustin
Smooth
Wow Wow
Yesss, more Lemon Demon! Also wow I was here within the first 5 minutes lol.
The vibes of Niel's music is really just [BOPS IN EXISTENTIAL DREAD]
I believe the "disclaimer" at the end of Lifetime Achievement Award is from the Thriller music video by Michael Jackson btw! Ill double check & edit my comment when I finish watching the video haha
EDIT: If you click the 13 minute long Thriller video, it literally opens up with that quote, so yes i was right lol

If you want a deeper insight into the actual meanings of the songs (specifically the ones from spirit phone) Neil has a full commentary track on UA-cam where he talks over spirit phone and explains his creative process and ideas.
Also I believe it was Michael Jackson who had at the end of a music video "I wish to stress that this record in no way endorses a belief in the occult."
Bill Watterson make me so uncomfortable jzkxk kskxmc it's good though.
He thinks he's soft fuzzy and gentle but holds her lost in place with a clouded fog hiding his intentions.
the whole spirit phone album is such an experience i definitely recommend sitting down and listening to the whole thing in order
You should really try listening to Jack Stauber. I wanna see you try to hear any of the lyrics to his music, Mainly the extended micropop songs.
You should try to stan JAWNY:
Honey pie
Anything you want
Trigger of Love
I also heavily recc Nature Tapes album! Personally Really Cool Wig, Spiral of Ants, and Everybody Loves Raymond are some of my favorite songs from Lemon Demon, though maybe you've listened to them in the last episode ^^
Angry people is a bonus track I'm obsessed w too
if you do a part 3, his (imo) most depressing songs are "i earn my life" and "stuck"!
And spiral of ants too
Also "sick puppy"! it's very underrated and very good!!
Go to Hollywood too it's HEAVY
@@billbuttlicker1248 I think he’d have an amazing reaction to spiral of ants
I just realized you have an Eda Wanted Poster, I LOVE IT
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE I LOVE LD
The disclaimer at the end of Lifetime achievement award is based off of the same one on the Michael Jackson Thriller record
Also, since you were wondering, it's pronounced "SISS-er-EE-guh" :)
And you were right about "Lifetime Achievement Award" being inspired by the dead-musician-hologram thing!
-Paintspot Infez
Wasabi!
The end of lifetime achievement award is a parody of the start of one of Michael Jackson’s albums, you should listen to the commentary track, it has many fun tidbits about each of the songs just like that!
YES YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i haven’t watched the whole video yet but i already love it!!!!!!!!!! you should definitely do a video about i am become christmas it’s one of my favorite albums :)
life time achievement award is about celebrities dying and then a company revives them and forces them into a contract
"What happened to mankind?! But also this SLAPS" yeah.... that's Lemon Demon to a T 😂
Would recommend:
- The Machine
- The Next Dimension
- One Weird Tip
- Subtle Oddities
- Go to Hollywood
- Indie Cindy and the Lofi Lullabies
"But the synthy bops, though! But this is, like, terrifying!"
Not a bad way of summing up Neil's music, tbh. I can't get enough of it, tho
Some more I actually forgot to mention! Ancient Aliens, The only house that’s not on fire (yet), amnesia was her name, and You’re At The Party ^~^
Oh and why not top it off with "I've got some falling to do"!
holding out hope you do the rest of his christmas EP for the holidays this year, the whole thing fucking SLAPS.
smash that bell so you'll get notified lol aurora borealis slaps so hard i want the whole ep!
Some good songs to try would be:
Ruler of Everything
The Bidding
Turn the Lights Off
add Cannibal and Two Wuv in there
yea, lemon demon has like a family and all of the such and as much as i love all of the music i personally just appreciate what has been put out and call it there because of the full concept of bill watterson
I absolutely want you to do "Lemon Demon's.... Heckin... Holiday album"
SAD is a bop
You have no idea how much it means to me when others appreciate my favorite artists, especially the not so popular ones. Thank you so much for keeping me at least a bit entertained during my school break, best channel out there :D
The funny thing about so many of these songs is that,,, they're far more literal than he thinks. Soft fuzzy man is just about a cloud guy
I think two songs by Neil that might be fun for you to analyze are "The Machine" from View-Monster, and "You're At The Party" from Spirit Phone
Lemon demon kinda became my personality for junior year 😂
I've been really getting into bear ghost recently, Especially their album 'blasterpiece' and 'haunt, the cartoon heart'. I think you would like it.
ABSOLUTELY
I clicked on necromancin dancin on accident and ended up listening to their whole discography
@@2sad_frogs they just have an immaculate vibe don't they?
God that'd be excellent. 12 years howled is one of my favorites of theirs
Heck yeah, that'd be dope to see
And now I came over here to watch this second one and it’s also fantastic!
This should be... interesting
13:30 yes that's exactly what it is he confirmed that in the spirit phone commentary
would be cool to hear your take on the front bottoms :)
I feel like you’d love Amanda Palmer’s music, she was in the Dresden Dolls, Evelyn Evelyn, and just did some wonderful solo stuff!
Trying to stand Orion experience
They're like a fun kind of 80ish like disco throwback fan I think you fucking love them
Cult of Dionysus, obsessed with you, queen of White Lies, Adrian, Starchild, vampire
Oh they just released a whatever those small albums are called call Lenda XO which is basically just music by the female vocalist but I want to add two of those songs to Darling and you're so weird are so fucking good I mean every single song that I've heard from that is making me gayer but like those are my favorites
I think that's a good spread
You should absolutely do I am Become Christmas. It has amazingly analyzable songs, including one about a mental disorder about Christmas and one about, uh… scientific experimentation that turns people into Santa clones. It’s a wild album, and it’s only 20 minutes, so you might be able to play a bit more of the songs without cutting it out.
Yooooooooooooo I just rewatched the first video and was hoping you would do it again!!!
Thank you for my life, an I Am Become Christmas holiday video does sound lovely!
Part 3? I'm gonna put my vote in for some good and perhaps underappreciated View Monster and Dinosaurchestra songs lol
-The Machine (this is my fave LD song of all!! if you can find a vid with the intro included, or maybe find it on it's own (called "untitled (therapy)" it's that much better)
-The Ocean
-The Afternoon
-The Only House That's Not On Fire (Yet)
-Sundial
-The Next Dimension
-Fine
-Indie Cindy and the Lo-Fi Lullabies
-Dinosaurchestra Parts I, II, and III
-White Bread Boyfriend
-It Can Get Lonely in My Mansion
Also, eventually you should really do a vid with some of the songs from Neil's mashup albums!
I know it's not right but I like to imagine soft fuzzy man is about a cat
If you’ve listened to spirit phone commentary track, that might be why it’s in your mind, Neil said he and his wife called his cat (who sadly passed away but is the cat in the album cover) “Soft Fuzzy Man”
I would definitely love to see you cover I am become Christmas for the holidays! Spirit phone would also be a good album for Halloween considering it's spooky vibes. I do have few Lemon Demon recommendtions in case you ever want to do a part 3:
The ocean
Jaws
Knife fight
My trains
You're at the party
Most of the songs are really fun, expect however the last two which are pretty creepy, just a heads up.
Anyways that's all, I hope your doing well!
I would still love seeing you react to Takayan! His videos are all subtitled, so you can see what he's singing, and he's just all around fun to watch!
The quote at the end of Lifetime Achievement Award is actually a reference to Michael Jackson's song Thriller, as in the official music video, in the title card, it says "due to my strong personal conviction I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult"
Was hoping to hear No Eyed Girl. Maybe part 3?
All of these comments and I'm only seeing like one person recommend amnesia was her name. Rip.
Along with that, some of my personal favorites are Marketland, When He Died, and No Eyed Girl. I know it's been over half a year since this video came out but,,,,, one can hope right
Too those are all so good! I love like every album so much aaa
Man Bill!!! This one rocked!!! I love your commentary so much that I often watch these even if I don’t know the band, so when I DO, it’s always a pleasant surprise!!
Thanks... For being im my life
I had atrocious day and couldn't fall asleep even though I haven't slept in 20 hours already, and then I see the video of yours and it just made me so happy
Yo, Lemon Demon is sick, this was a cool video. I hope you review more of his things in the future.
