Kirsty, I'm in the UK, and I really wish we could return makeup. That's why I'll watch so many different reviews on the same product, so I can spend my money wisely.
With you not being able to return makeup in the UK, I can NOT recommend that you take your chances with this. I know it'll work for some people and I will soon get an angry mob telling me how I should have applied it and THEN I'd love it but....nope, sticking to my guns and, in a fury, guess what? I returned BOTH. And I NEVER do that. Just OUT OF MY SIGHT, yuck. But you can't return so....noooo!

I prefer the o20 but after you showed us a close up I think you should return both. It made your skin look dry and textured. You look so much better in others.

It was just so unflattering and so expensive at the same time. Do you know, if you had told me that it was from a drugstore, and no offense to drugsstore makeup, I would have then believed it and been ashamed that drugstore makeup hasn’t come further. Seriously.

Hi Rebecca, if you HAVE to keep one for future videos, I like the shade that you applied on your left side of face. At least that shade brightened up your complexion 😊 But if you don’t like the foundation, just return both! It is an expensive foundation, you spent your own money on it, return them if you don’t even like them. We love you and want you to review the products that you like and giving up wonderful suggestions. However, we would never want you to spend that kind of money on something that you dislike only for review purposes😊 Thank you for another in-depth foundation review. You have got no idea how much I’ve enjoyed them all!! X

I think the o side looks better... But if it doesn't work out for you, at that price, dutch both. I once bought a chanel foundation at around the same price point as that and it was nice but not enough to jump to that price so I never bought it again. Cle de peau is a good brand. It's unfortunate it's not a win for you but I appreciate your frank review.

You know. In hindsight, likely I should’ve kept one experimented with it so I could at least report on how to make it work especially for those who can’t return. But I was so indignant. I really was. I just didn’t want them in my presence!

I say if you hate it, return i!!!! It’s too expensive to keep if you don’t love it, that’s for sure! And yeah, at this price point, you shouldn’t have to “make it work”, you need to be able to slap it on and for it to look amazing! But just for a different perspective, I’ve been using this for a month now (it’s been available in the UK for a while), and I LOVE it! It just melts into my skin and looks amazing all day long, covering what I need it to and just looks like I have amazing smooth skin - goes to show that not everything works the same for everyone, and I feel that’s ok too - actually, at the price point, I kind of wish it wouldn’t look so good and work so well for me, LOL. Funnily, I had also tried the previous version and it didn’t work for me at all and looked soooo makeupy,!
Dania, I love love your different perspective. Exactly, it’s fascinating really how one holy grail is another persons disaster. But, yes, I bet you almost wish you were in my camp because it’s so expensive. Haha. That being said, when you can find a foundation that just works, it’s a wonderful thing!! 🥰

I love watching you and your honest reviews, and love your indoor-outdoor swatches, thank you for all this wonderful information - sometimes, it also helps because when I know why something doesn’t work for you, it gives me an indication of if it would maybe work for me, lol (does that make sense???). Oh and it’s the CdP Radiant fluid foundations I mix together - the Matte and the Natural, gives the most natural finish, though I still prefer the new cream one 😂. And yeah, the price point kills me 😅, but then I don’t have a whole lot of foundations either, I tend to always wear the one I prefer the most anyway, so I try to find something I love and stick to it 😊

Buying $70 foundation after $70 foundation searching for something better!!! And yes I know exactly what you mean about knowing what you’ll like or won’t like. It’s like concealer. If you love the thick PML, you’ll hate the thin Giorgio Armani etc etc.

Totally agreed, Melanie. I’m waiting and waiting and waiting. Because I know that I’m gonna do another round up and then six more are going to be released. So I figure I will give it a few more weeks to see what trickles in. Ha ha
Oh that's a shame. Good to know about the reformulation. I absolutely love the older version of this product during the winter when my skin is bone dry. I do moisturize first and apply a bit of the Tatcha silk canvas where I have lines. Definitely return if you aren't happy. Life's too short for makeup that isn't flattering.

I have this in 2 shades and mix. With time and your own natural chemistry I have never felt a dewy glazed foundation. I am revisiting it because I am repurchasing it. Thank you for showing the b20 because that’s a shade. I’m going to repurchase, there is a $270 now hun maybe would work😊
I have not given up on the brand. In fact, I love their holiday collection
I prefer the O20. The B20 makes you look red in the face.
Hello Rabbi. Ugh, I can't STAND this foundation. I hope you were able to see the note I left for you on the Dior concealer review. You were RIGHT!!! It DOES sink into lines under the eyes. I kept playing with it and kept thinking I looked so tired. Nope. It's the Dior Concealer. It's terrible under the eyes and I thought, "Rabbi Roz warned me!"
Definitely return it if you're spending that much money. I'd want to be blown away

Givancy foundation is better VS this one. Recommended for return. Chanel submerge cream foundation is beautiful if U try. Camera close on your face that shows your honest option. Love to see watch your review everyday…!

IF I had to pick one, I would go with the B 20. That said, as someone who owns a Chantecaille foundation and a La Mer foundation, you shouldn’t have any hesitation at that price point, you should really love it! I say return both.

I really don’t get CDP, all of their foundations seem to look the same, like the radiant natural and matte I cannot tell the difference. I will skip on this one as for the price it needs to make magic on my skin!

I respect your opinion but I have had the exact opposite experience. I am almost 50 and I have had a terrible time trying to find a new foundation. From purlisse to Dior to Chanel etc the color was perfect for me and it was the only full coverage foundation that gave me a creamy healthy glow. I use the very lightest color which is I01 I believe.

Oh boy Rebecca! I’m so glad you reviewed these, because other reviews were stellar on this foundation! Color wise , the 020 looks better on you. But, the close ups, this foundation looked really dry! I’ll tell you my experience with their concealer. I bought the new reformulated concealer last week, that everyone here was raving about here. So, with tax, I spent 80 bucks on it. I know! The SA even told me, oh, this concealer is great for dry under eyes, very smoothing, yaddy yay. She also gave me samples of the new radiant foundation and The Foundation. Let me tell you, I was so unhappy with that concealer. It was drying, and settled into lines under my eyes I didn’t even know I had! It was cakey on me right away. I used a heavy duty eye cream, tried it with primers, nope, worse I ever tried. Back to Nordstrom I went, to return this! The foundations were nice, color good as well. But, they are pricey. The Foundation costs $250.00, I just can’t. The radiant one was $130, probably better than the cream one that you bought. But, I wasn’t wowed by it. Just return both of them Rebecca. And, I really, really appreciate your honesty here. Oh, anything with B in their foundations, don’t seem beige on me, they are a pinkish orange. I tried those colors. The O colors are better, imo.
This is especially interesting to me, Janice, because this is reformulated and the concealer you tried was reformulated. Very interesting. You had essentially the same experience that I had with the foundation but you had it with the concealer. I haven’t watched other reviews but I cringe that others liked it. I don’t understand. And that means I will get people on here yelling at me that I put it on wrong. But I stand my ground. If something costs that much money you should be able to put it on any old way and have it look wonderful. The new Givenchy foundation, I could spray that on myself with a spray bottle and it would look good. I could have my daughter pour some in her hands and throw it in my face and it would look good. Do you know what I mean? So this has to go back. And I will make sure not to try the concealer, thank you!

And, these were reviews coming from people with “dry” skin, that said it was amazing. You’re right, it should be wonderful, especially, for that price! And, you should be able to put it in any old way! The SA in Nordstrom told me to try the new Bobbie Brown concealer. She said it was very creamy and hydrating. I might give it a try, idk. I didn’t see your review about the Givenchy, I’ll look it up. But, anything that has the word matte in it, will dry me out, even though I live in Florida. Oh, about the concealer, one reviewer really liked it, and it looked really good on this person, but they returned it, because of the price. I might try the Bobbie brown
Agreed, their concealers never worked for me either, I always found them dry and cakey looking (and I’ve tried at least 3 re-formulations of it!). I also don’t like their concealer in the click pen, though it also gets rave reviews 🤷🏼♀️. I do LOVE this particular foundation though, and really like the Radiant liquid ones too (I mix both the natural and matte for a natural finish), but still prefer this new cream one, my skin just loves it (unfortunately for my CC which hates it, LOL). And also agreed on the shades - O leans yellow but is still more neutral than B I find!

I really like the Giorgio Armani power fabric concealer. It doesn’t dry. But the new Dior concealer does dry. Yuck! Cle de Peau is just too expensive for what it offers. In general.

Hello! Oh thank you for the Sephora Squad thoughts. You know, I passed on it because I watched, years and years ago, Kelsee Briana Jae NOT get selected and I was BAFFLED. I figured she was a shoe in. When she didn't get it, I ended up assuming it was somehow rigged. Hahah. Plus, ya know what? It becomes another favor I have to keep asking you lovely people and I just have enough trouble even mentioning my affiliate links at the bottom of the page so I have always passed on it but I thank you so much for your faith. That is SO kind. Regarding this foundation, to be honest, I was FURIOUS. That is how much I truly did NOT like it. And, at this point, I feel like I can spot a good foundation a mile away. I have NEVER seen THIS many foundations in my life. Haha. So....nope. No stamp of approval on this one! haha.

@@RJGreg you’re so kind. The affiliate links can be very glitchy. Supposedly when you click on one it takes you to where it is sold in your country. But that’s impossible with places like Sephora and whatnot. Something like Charlotte Tilbury it’s supposed to take the person to whatever country they’re in. I used to go to the sites and get affiliate links from different countries and put the flag there but I’m not sure that that worked either. It’s very techy and glitchy! But I so appreciate you. And your support here is all I need! You’re the best.
It would be helpful if you could explain your skin type. I think that affects the wear of a particular foundation a lot. Also…..primers, moisturizers, etc. used underneath. Thanks!

I did like the Cle de peau radiant cushion foundation ( it’s long gone ) but this new one is not good. I appreciate your honest opinions. Really! It’s important for people to get honest reviews. Hello Claudia! I really hate to ruin the excitement, but I can’t recommend. And, you’re right, after filming, I just sat there, looked at them both, became angry and returned them both. I never do that. I always keep one just for comparison purposes but this one was so expensive that it actually made me angry and I returned both.
I would def return both! If u know u won't b wearing this then save ur money for another release! Def don't keep 1 just to reference to because honestly I don't think anyone would want to compare this foundation to anything else!

Hello Miho!!!! Thank you so much for this comment. I agree and I have definitely returned both, which is a first for me. But I was just so frustrated by it. I have so many comments saying how much they loved the original version. Why does a brand do this? Why do they reformulate things? They tend to ruin everything. I always wonder if it’s because they have cheaper ingredients to include and they just spin it with the marketing to act like it’s exciting and new? They often ruin a good thing this way!
Id say return them both! U can always pop up a picture in video like if you do a roundup or ranking later.

Sephora did get the Dior addicts only In black case. But I got one they have 4X points on Dior. Dior often a love or hate for me lol

I haven't tried this foundation but i heard good things about it, i gess it doesn't work for everyone.i like the cle de pau foundation brush, eyeshadow, sunscreen & face wash but im not gonna try any of their other makeup bc i already have a foundation i use everyday & am happy with

I have only tried two and they were not my favorite but there’s one… I need to look it up… There’s one that everybody loves and I haven’t tried it. Do you have crazy crazy dry skin? Because I do recommend the Jones Road what the foundation for very super dry skin

Still, it's shocking Cle de Peau didn't come out with something better than this... I personally would not keep either.
I often purchase two, as you know. And then I keep one for comparison, both if I absolutely adore them. This time, I broke with tradition, and returned them both. That’s not like me but I just cannot handle it. For that price I should’ve loved it no matter how I applied it.
I am shocked reading some of these comments that in the UK you can't return makeup. At Ulta you can return open and USED products within 60 days. Now I feel spoiled that we can exchange and return opened products. So I'm sure this was very helpful for those interested in this one 🥰 Hard pass 🙌
Hard pass is right! Yes. Not only can you not return used make up. In so many parts of Europe you can’t return any make up at all. Terrible. Can you imagine that? How carefully you would have to purchase something. Ridiculous
These days in the EU, you can return unused products within 14 days of purchase, though Sephora Italia will only do so if the package is sealed in plastic. I purchase online because they offer refunds. In store returns are given store credit. However, once you use the makeup, you are officially in a committed relationship whether you like it or not. It's annoying but helps prevent impulse spending.

For $130 should be perfect. Saw another review and she used the primer. Much better with primer but at this price point should not need the primer to get a better look.

And someone on the Caliray review, that I did ages ago, said exactly that. "You need to apply this way and that way and it's obvious you wouldn't have liked it so why did you review it?" hahaha. People get so protective or maybe it was the founder's mother. haha. But definitely pass on this one, Liza.

I loved the original version of this, it is my Holy grail foundation. It sits beautifully on my very dry 42 year old skin (self setting foundations crack on my skin...and I only use enough to slightly cover redness in my cheeks... and this didn't, it just kept it hydrated). I'm terrified that this reformulation will do the cracking thing on my skin that I hate...shoot!
Hello Brianne! If you are here in the United States and can return, it is definitely worth a try. But I was very disappointed as you saw. I do not have high hopes but what if this works for you? I don’t want you to pass up on it but I just wanna make sure you can return it just in case.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty luckily the new Kosas foundation seems to sit pretty much the same way on my skin as the old CDP did...lol and it's almost $90 cheaper, so if this new reformulated version doesn't work for me (I purchased it a few days ago) I'll just use the kosas as my one and only and yes, I can and will return the CDP if it doesn't work.

I also use the original, which I absolutely love for my dry winter skin. Sounds like the reformulation isn't anywhere near the same. Glad I stocked up on the original when it was discontinued.

Thank you for your honest review. I had the original formula and I felt it definitely settled into fine lines too. I was not thrilled with it. I will say this, for my everyday life, I do not want foundation that is complicated (must use a certain type of primer etc). I use my skin care, then foundation. I do not use a primer unless I am going to a wedding. Foundation should look great from the application. I understand different foundations work with different types of skin. I have mature skin and I need to be careful with my choices For the record I am a big fan of Cle De Peau too and love and use a lot of their products. This is not one I will try.

Honestly it looks good on you imo but only your opinion matters. I love their radiant matte foundation as well as their concealers...so I purchased it but I havent worn it yet so I dont have a personal opinion on it. Everything doesnt work for everyone (just like I hate their radiant natural foundation but everyone seems to love it.) So nobody should make a big deal about not liking something. I'll give mine a try next week and see if I share the same opinions.

It looks really skin like and smooth to me.i only used half of a peas sized amount for my entire face and I paired it with my kosas concealer and saie and huda beauty setting powders. No primer. Very radiant and glowy

I don’t mind spending money of luxury items but the quality has to match the price and this missed the mark for sure. You have tried soooo many foundations so I’d say you are pretty much a foundation expert at this point. Thank you for trying this out for us but I expected more. You’ve tried some beautiful foundations that looked stunning on you but the juice isnt worth the squeeze on this one.

Hi babe x I’ve never used/bought this brand, but I thought when the 020 was applied it looked a little chalky (not great)…. But when you applied the B20 the 020 looked better!
Honestly you have gorgeous skin and both these shades (this product) does nothing for you. If you can, return both, in my opinion.
It doesn’t mean this brand is written off, as you say, every face is unique and it’s the combo of skin & product that either enhances your skin…. Or not. It’s that simple, and in this case it’s a NOPE 👎
I love Lancôme & Lisa Eldridge & Dior on you far better. A high end price doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a better match. The 020 on the right of your face (as we watch on here) is defo a closer shade match once it’s warmed to your skin though…. So if you wanted to keep one & try another time, that’s the one I think 🤔

I agree with everything you say here. I don’t write off the brand, exactly as you say but, it’s so true, not every product can work on everyone. I often, as you know, purchase two shades for comparison. I usually return one but, often, if I love it, I will keep two to mix or apply to different areas of the face. But, I had to admit defeat with this product, I was very upset by the price tag and the performance so I broke with tradition and I actually returned both this time. I thought I might regret it because I could’ve tried once again but I don’t regret it at all. I am glad it is out of my field of vision! Ha ha. Thank you for your lovely comment!

Full honesty: the price by itself turns me off. I know it’s a very high-end brand, blah blee bluh. I have the money; it’s not that either. I just can’t justify spending $140 (with tax) on a foundation, unless it makes me look 18. As we know, nothing on Earth can accomplish that, not even surgery. And what’s with giving a sample only if you buy the $700 product?? Should we interpret that as the brand NOT having full confidence in said product?? If you (the brand) wholeheartedly believe the product is THAT good to the point of charging $700 for it, shouldn’t you be ecstatic to give away samples-knowing that those samples would 100% hook people into buying the full size?? Sunscreen in makeup especially for this much money is ridiculous. It's not sunscreen it's makeup. And people who flip about that are weird like you said you don't even get the protection in it cuz not enough is applied. Chemical sunscreen is bad for you. And mineral sunscreen can have flashback. Makeup should stick to makeup and release spf makeup here or there and not push for it. People are allergic, people have sensitive skin, pregnancy too, and it makes it really hard to shop.
