As a driver of a TFS 54 single cab I totally agree on the reliability, fuel efficiency,lifespan etc. Extra care required when braking at higher speed (>80) or when the pickup is loaded.
It does not have airbags because of cost cutting, in the African market we do not have strict and practical policies on car safety features as compared to the European countries. And that dictates why their cars, not only a D-MAX, have highest safety ratings. Technically, fitting vehicles airbags is not costly with a contrast to the safety guaranteed. However, it is what it is!!! Awesome review, my dream care is a DMAX simply because I can use it "FOREVER"
I remember I used to go to market with the single can variant. Very simple, powerful, extremely fuel efficient (the Hilux equivalent can't even come close), easy to maintain and live with. Once am well of financially, I will go for this exact one, the double cab variant......
I like the longevity and ruggedness of the D-Max. 4 cylinder diesels are economical and durable. Safety concerns are valid since these “locally assembled” units crash-test performance is way sub-par compared to the rigorous standards the same models are subjected to in western markets.
Chief. that Isuzu d max you tested categorically. Is so inferior to others like Ford 150.. 350 350..Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram.. 1500 2500.....Toyota tacoma / Tundra..so please explore &sample these others...

Erick with a CK, now that you have mentioned putting that vehicle on a free gear, how safe is it to let your vehicle roll on free gear, is it really recommended?
I tried rolling in free with a hino 500 truck karibu nipige chini. The vehicle sped to 80kms na speed governor ikazima gari steering wheel ikakuwa mawe, I almost lost control. Ill never repeat that crap again especially gari iko na speed governor.

The biggest mistake you're doing is comparing the likes of vitz,honda fit,demio to an Isuzu dmax The person who is buying a honda fit isn't the same person looking to buy a pickup ,you wouldn't convince this is a family car

Manual cars are safe to roll, however, not on a busy road. Actually roll it when you are alone kwa barabara
Actually all cars are safe in neutral. An automatic can also cruise in manual gear down a slope easily.
