Cab ride on Mr. Porsche ‘s very large model train layout
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- This is the model train layout of Mr. Hans-Peter Porsche. He is the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, the automobile designer of the famous VW Beetle. Since his childhood, Hans-Peter Porsche collected tin toys from Marklin, from Bing and from other manufacturers. A few years ago, he decided to present his collection of toys to the public in a special museum.
This museum is called “Traumwerk Porsche” in the German language, meaning “Dreamworks Porsche” in the English language. In addition to the toy collection, there is a large event hall for Porsche cars and a very large model railroad display with model trains in action. Outside, there is also a railroad and a playground for children.
The Dreamworks model railway museum is located in the South of Germany. The large model railway layout has got an exhibition area of more than 400 square meters and represents the three countries Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Pilentum was capturing video footage of more than six hours, for example these beautiful cab rides along the whole railway exhibition. Please, enjoy the railroad landscape and railway scenery.

So true !
He said great.
Absolutely 100%
TEAM6USA Very good, very good!!!
This isn't a model railroad, it's a work of art that moves. A standing "O"
Gringao we should put him incharge of the UK rail system, because it's shocking
The use of Märklin track ( 3 rail) is disqualifying it a bit 😉
Dude, that is so true!
I feel like I've taken a tour around the town on a real train!! Loved the ride and all the intricate detail! Absolutely outstanding layout!!
16:30 OMG an actual giant roams the valley! 👀 The immersion of this build and the POV is amazing! Had me feeling very tiny for a while. Very nicely done and thanks for the ride!
WOHO!! Noice!!!😃
That was the most relaxing train ride I've ever been on.
and just in time too ;)
And the cheapest lol
I have never seen anything better than this , I was absolutely captivated, well done to everyone involved in the layout. the very best regards. Colin.

I noticed that the track work is so smooth, you rarely hear any clacking, just smooth track. When Edison made the first electric model train, I doubt he ever imagined such a thing would exist.
Waaaaaauuuuuu
Great setup

All I read is picky comments about wires...wrong color lights...etc. shut up and stop being picky..just enjoy it.

In which case i am VERY glad 'Pilentum' does NOT work on a real railway !
colliecandle I'm sure they don't give a crap about "opinions" from fanatics.
No kidding.
Pilentam. The layout truly Amazing. An to watch the train run around the tracks real spectaleor. Truly out standing work has gone into the layout. Real Amazing video. 😊
LOL

So realistic, even the rail workers go on strike.
Saddle Sore. HA LOL
Demanding higher wages than the Crapway Railroad Company
This is magnificent - and what adds to the realism is that unlike many layouts the trains are traveling at realistic scale speeds-not zipping along like missiles!
Awesome layout and excellent photography. That said, I found it mildly annoying that when it enters a dark tunnel, it cuts away to footage elsewhere in the layout, which screws up my ability to get an overall sense of the layout and the route taken over the course of the video.
I don't believe any change place cuts only cut tunnel length. The big / long tunnels take you to another scene or landscape, a continous ride.
I know tunnels go dark then your coming the other direction, how to wire lights on such a big scale, how many trees are in this layout
That was driving me nuts. And seeing that the insides of most of the tunnels weren't finished made it very easy to lose the suspense of disbelief. It would be nice to see the entire thing finished out, then see the tunnels as they're traversed through a train's headlamp. Still, it's an amazing work.
Yes, agreed. Very frustrating when it changed scene after a tunnel. Or we are suddenly going back along the stretch we have just been on, just in the other direction. Great video though, and awesome layout. Thanks for sharing.
In Tarzan voice:" video good, tunnel cuts bad."
This has to be the best-looking model train layout I've ever seen. To be able to see it in person would be the next best thing.
25 minutes and 52 seconds of pure bliss. Thank you for everything you have done here. Please consider doing a 360° camera ride in the future. I would love to be able to look around at all of the scenery during the ride.
The lighting is amazing! I love this Layout. Thank you Mr Porsche.
It's certainly one of the best cab-rides I've ever seen, despite all the SPADs !!
Couldn't imagine the skill, the time and the money it cost to put this together.
Peace
@Grumpy468 I'm not surprised because making something like this has to be a labour of love.
Peace
And who said money can't buy happiness?
Oh yes, money cn buy happiness. It's the ones that want money ( but don't want to work for it) that say things like this...
:D
@tobagotb10 indeed, but I'd prefer to have money and be depressed than being depressed without money.
@@davidcurtis5398 Plenty of people working harder than us but get paid waaaaaaaaaay less than what they deserve. So careful with what you say. It's just another day for you and me in paradise but we're the few that are this lucky.

Absolute masterpiece!!! The layout and visual aspect alone sold me but the ultra fine attention to detail completely won me over. As a music producer whenever I have a creative block or feel self-doubt I will come back to this video to remind myself that great things are possible when you apply yourself and work hard on your vision. Thank you for sharing this with us, it is truly inspiring 👏🏽👌🏾💯🙏🏾
Truly remarkable layout including an uncountable number of trees, figures and power supports. Love the areas depicted in winter time including the ice. Thanks for sharing it with the world.
great!
If there is a chance to go to Germany, I will definitely go watch this!
from Japan
This could be the best layout in the world or at least one of the best.
The catenary work is amazing.
Miniatur Wunderland? :)
Yeah, sure, you go and I'll stay here. By the way don.t get off.
No, that's in Munich. Look for it, many vids.
Novice question: Is the power for the trains transmitted through the rails or through the overhead wires?
It's like watching "Swiss Railway Journey's" all over again!
An Incredible layout!
Amazing ride, but you violate the most basic rule: Don't pass a red light.
Did you read the description?
Thank you for this. I did not see anyone reference the giant concrete arch bridge in the background. I assume that is a model also, but it looks real. What bridge was it modeled after?
You need to get one of those new 360° cameras for this. ✌🏼️✌🏼️👍🏼
PILENTUM . I saw on of your live steam and I was wondering do you slow down the speed of the frame rate?
No argument. .
Absolutely fabulous.. I've always had an interest in model trains but I don't have the patience to even consider something as awesome as this... Total labor of love...
That was truly amazing, if I could afford it, I could see myself having that. Very outstanding.
Simply Amazing...I could watch this for hours....must be so wonderful to go there and actually see it but the cab view is great!
He ran a red signal... train disaster imminent!! [cool vid]
Excellent! This is very impressive. I am a freight locomotive engineer in the USA. I do not know very much about the European signal system. I would be interested to learn. I have traveled quite a bit in Europe by train though. This is delightful to see. There are much fewer public crossings at grade there so sustained higher speeds are possible. In the US it is primitive compared to this. I was wondering about the layout itself. What historical period of time is depicted in particular? It seems to lean toward the 1970's possibly. Also are the towns and stations along the way any places specifically. I could swear I saw us roll through Fulda at one point. At any rate, BRAVO. Superb workmanship.
Thx for the ride! This is also very relaxing. All the best.
Pilwntam.
One Truly Amazing video. 😊
It's a beautiful layout. A lot of details in the scenery. It's a fun ride around in the cab point of view.
Next time I have an extra 10-20 million dollars I know just what I'm going to do with it.
Extraordinaire! Incroyable! Je ne pensais pas qu'un réseau pareil puisse exister. Avec des décors aussi parfaits en plus.
That was very enjoyable. Thank you for posting this.
Excellent detail! Many hours of labor involved! Well done, sir.
Totally Fantastic. I thoroughly enjoy the entire journey from my arm chair. The sheer man hours involved in creating this wonderful masterpiece and the cost is mind blowing. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Just simply are not words to describe this awesome layout. Amazing.
Wonderful, but almost to good to be true, however I do appreciate all the hardwork in making it look realistic, but it shows you what money & dedication can be shared!
Don't cry about the money... enjoy the cab ride!
I could watch this all day. Incredible!!
fermin benedetti get back to work!!!
Rarely watch a 25 minute video. This one captured me immediately. Simply amazing. Who was playing at that outdoor venue?
Outdoor venue ???
By far my favourite layout out of any that I've seen so far.
Very impressive model train layout and especially like the areas of track where snow was. The whole layout is truly a work of love for model trains and the types of cars and engines that make up the types used world wide.
Great layout, what size is the room? Excellent to watch. Master piece of modelling.
Amazing scenery, the scale is immense. Great ride along. Those Germans love their model trains
First time I have watched a cab ride and actually felt like I was in the cab,,,,,,I didnt want it to end. Perhaps its the larger trains that made it feel so real, Mr Porsche has something to be proud of,,,,,what a beautiful layout. Was this layout built professionally or by Mr Porsche himself???? Thanks for sharing.
The layout was built by a German company. This company is specialized in building model railway layouts. But there where many, many other companies, for example for the day/night light show or for the train control system.
As an actual train driver, it does pain me to see so many red lights passed, but that’s a me issue, I’m gonna pretend he’s working under pilot man! Haha. But wow, the level of detail here is awe inspiring.
Please, read the description about the red lights.
It’s ok, I know it’s not real life. I was just making a poor joke. I really am a train driver and it’s like rule number 1 for us, don’t pass the red ones. Haha. Brilliant video.
@@sw01ller rule number 1 for train drivers is "dont run a red light"...
Wow, that's some extensive training you have had there.
The placement of the camera gives a very wonderful perspective.
Why the tunnels are cut out anyway? I understand that inside is not always pretty, but could be interesting.
Thank you, this explains why I saw a tunnel inside about one minute later after I sent the message :)
Maybe to save time idk...
I felt like I just went on an incredible train ride!
The best relaxing medecine ... and the cheapest ... thanks
so lovely friend really great
Fantastic to see thank you I was shocked when I saw a giant man. If the little people could move in the platforms then I would find it hard to believe that it wasn't a real train
Too Freakin Cool!!! I enjoyed that ride along.
Very nice. I think I will watch this video now every time I ride my exercise bike.
*exercise train
No words can describe my feelings for this. Truly incredible!! What scale is that by the way?
This is the most amazing model railroad I have ever seen.
To see it from the locomotive view was sheer pleasure.
WELL DONE Mr. Porsche!
Absolutely beautiful love the FPV & how u have so many dislikes I’ll never know any1 that dislikes this video is a asshole with no life so he takes it out on you
My father told me that I was a jackass playing with model trains, and he threw a lot of it away, but I kept collecting, and still am through today.

As a captain of the Boeing 747-400F and the Boeing 747-400BCF I am really impressed and astonished by the technology that sticks in this tremendously large model train park in this museum there and I would love it to see it with my own eyes! These people there are really enthusiastic in creating and handling this things, wow! And the founder of this has given the world a very special and unique heritage to watch and to enjoy! Lovely greetings from Sarah 🙋😍💖👍👌
For once my big mouth is (almost) lost for words....truly astonishing...and so much fun to watch.
i just love the plain awesomeness of this video. Excellent job.
I'm 55. When I was a kid I used to have a couple of Tyco train sets. I loved them. When I watch these videos I get lost in my own world. Thank you!
Bruce, thanks for your comment. But what's today with your passion for model trains? Are you still active in model railroading or do you just watch Pilentum's videos?
I wish the tunnels were kept to real time without editing straight to the exit. I like the one or two I saw that continued through the tunnel.
Paul, would you like to watch a video behind the scenes?
I wish all the tunnels were like the one at 19:25. Simply for the more life like experience of passing through a tunnel, where ones sees the end of the tunnel approaching. Not so much to see the inside of the tunnel.
Paul Whitfield
That tunnel was cool. Got to see the light at the end of it.
I suspect that the tunnel interiors you didn't see are more like typical model railroad tunnels ... not very realistic ... lots of unpainted wood supports of the scenery above ... maybe a 1:1 scale human or two. The editing was pretty well done.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! Such a gorgeous layout!!
even scale graffiti.... there's detail for ya... this isn't just a model railway, it's a model country..
That was the most beautiful layout that I've ever seen! And so huge! How long did it tack you to build it? And how many people did it take to build it?
Look up miniature wunderland, it's Absolutely insane. Flying planes, moving cars, trains. All generated with over 200 computers
That's a very massive undertaking they put on the works done there. That is a very awesome model. Very impressive indeed.
Impressive, thanks for posting...
É ainda mais realista que a própria realidade, visto que nada está conspirando contra as paisagens e maquetes. Perfeito!
This model shows the difference between amateur and professional constructors.
this is my first time to see this video what can I say this was so cool years ago I had a chance to take a train trip from New York City to Houston Texas this video brought back a lot of memories on that one train trip I wish I could do it again outstanding video it was so cool thank you

Was I the only one who was like "Holy shit, there's going to be a collision!" ?
was I the only one who fell asleep
I feel I just traveled the Alps and them some! Now I love my three vintage Porsche's even more!
if the clouds were on the layout you could probably tell people this is actual train footage and they would believe you great job 👍👍 (get it two thumbs up lol)
PILENTUM can't wait
WOW! That's one obsession I wouldn't mind having! If I didn't know better, that could have been a movie seen. "Godzilla climbs over the alps and rains down his fiery breath over the valley floor..." LOVE IT! (The trains not the Godzilla part.)
Absolutely incredible layout!!!!! WOW!!!!
Amazing. I watched the entire 26 minutes!
Me too. If you have the chance to see the layout please do do. It's near Bad Reichenhall (Germany) and Salzburg (Austria).
Absolutely stunning!! The depth of field and detail is amazing. I didn't want the ride to end because it is magical.
So many questions. Why make it ? - don't misunderstand me, I am stunned by it . Don't know what's more amazing , this , or the real thing. - or you.
Every boy's dream!
An excellent piece of work.
Thank you for the video.
This route on Mr. Porsche's layout is somewhat a breed between Milwaukee Road Rocky Mountain Division and Pennsylvania Railroad Columbia and Port Deposit Branch.
As a VR worker I verify that this awesome model system is real. The best one I have ever seen.
What an excellent video and a magnificent railroad. This is one very good cab ride with no herky jerky cameraman trying to follow the train, no scenes of boxes piled under the train tables, no floating heads in the landscaping mugging for the camera and no talking. I love the "no Talking" as conversation from a narrator or background people tend to spoil the scale activity of riding the train. I saw only five or six human beings and that was five or six too many. They tend to spoil the scale ride too. All in all it's a beautiful railroad and the video is very well done. Thanks for the ride.
best model train layout ever?
Who hasn't dreamt all their life of doing this? An age of wonders, and you helped make it happen! Wunderbar, wunderbar, wunderbar!
Exceptional, hate to think of the time and money that went into building this.
It's only when you see a man's head you realise just how small it really is.
Amazing layout
This is fantastic. Always the way I pictured running my toy train when I was a kid. Some of these comments are the usual nit picking, probably by people who never even tried to set up a model railroad.
breath-taking layout
Greetings to all. Nice Cab ride in HO scale. Great job. How many time did the creator need to do it? And how many money? I really did enjoy it. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Its not HO scale -- its O scale. You can tell because with all of the track, they removed the third rail (middle rail).
Absolutely unbelievable! A lot money has very obviously gone into this beautiful project, and it shows. At times, the scenery is mesmerizing and gets hard to distinguish from the real one, like all this sequence in the snow and the higher altitude, top of the mountain part. Great project, perfect implementation! Bravo!
That's what I was going to say, at times I had to pinch myself to get back to the reality of it being a model train setup. In my opinion this comes close to being the best layout on the internet (excluding the one in Germany with working planes, cars, trucks etc.).
Great craftmanship. In these times of uncertainty, of gloomy, sometimes scary outlook, of generalized fear shrouding most of Europe, if not the world, a little bit of childhood dream certainly doesn't hurt, doest it?
@@mikegross6107 Do you have the video link of that? Thanks! I' m Märklin's big fan (I use to have a modest railroad layout with Märklin trains)
That is an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL model train layout!! How realistic. I was just riding along
and really enjoying my train ride. Very relaxing.
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT JOB. THE BEST LAYOUT I HAVE EVER SEEN. AND I WATCH A LOT OF THESE VIDEOS!!!!!!
I'd quite like to see a camera fitted in a passenger car so we can view like we are a passenger
This is absolutely amazing!
I love the set, but I wish he wouldn’t cut out all the tunnels

Lights in the tunnels would be cool, even if not based in reality.
Or perhaps a light at the front of the train, just enough to illuminate a foot ahead.
This is one cool layout . I love it !!!
very nice video of an amazing model train layout. missed the clackety-clack on the rails and the engine noise. also I thought all trains had these powerful headlights which would be helpfulf to maintain continuity for a CONTINUOUS ride through the tunnels to the next location. also it would be fun for the ride to include the spiral descent from the top of the mountain. all in all, it was a Very good ride. Thank You (Danke)
Thanks for watching!
AWESOME!! Thank you very much!!
