Adam West Batman was an intentional comedy. It didn't take itself seriously. Batwoman takes itself very seriously and ends up being unintentionally funny like The Room.

Whatever happened to alarms, or motion detectors, or automatic door locks, or poison gas nozzles, or a computer program that deletes everything on the hard drive when triggered? Freezing temperatures and common computers don't mix very well, is all I'm saying... plus it's probably a sizable drain on power to keep the room climate-controlled when you're not there.
My computer always *loved* the wintertime when temperatures indoors would drop below freezing in the barely heated and practically uninsulated shack I used to live in. Free super-cooling! It was me that didn't mix so well, trying to keep my fingers from turning blue while using that computer.

I totally forgot to mention one of the funniest attributes of the episode: that woman’s girlfriend in this episode tells her that she used to live in a building that they walk across shortly after the first encounter with Magpie. She says it was once populated with low-income, yet sweet and neighborly people Who all got exiled to the darkest places in the city after the building was taken over by wealthy real-estate tycoons. This is hysterical because the building that they walk across is called the Leo Burnett, which is in Chicago, is an *office* building, and is located in the Chicago loop, which is a very expensive place to live in the city.
Black Gate is the Prison in Gotham. Arkham is an asylum for the mentally ill. Normal Batman criminals go to Black Gate while the mentally ill criminals go to Arkham. Like Joker,Ivy and character who crazy. Characters like Catwoman,Penguin,or anyone not have a super power goes to Black Gate. Now if they're not crazy but have super powers they go to Belle Reve.

I don't know much about her either, but I DO know she appeared in the Gotham TV series; where she fought Selina; who was still working on the whole cat gimmick thing, and was awesome! However she's.... well... not awesome in Bat Woman, but is ANYONE really surprised by now?🤦♂️

Dude I want to thank you for sparing me from watching what I already knew was going to be a nightmare from the start. I'll say you offer a scathing yet honest & dissected detailed review of each episode. I don't want to say keep up the good work because I know it must be torturous for you but it's f'ing entertaining for me to watch.
Wow! This was a really eye opener for me. After seeing the reaction to the full 22 episodes announcement I began to think my understanding of a total of only 39 episodes for all three seasons was slightly low. Sure enough, upon further review and reach there is a total of 51 episodes! Well.. my reaction was much the same as Thorias' in the beginning of his review. Also, I was incorrect about how long ago it was. I was thinking 2 years ago but as the first season started in October 2019 it would be closer to 3 years ago at the time I am writing these comments. I guess time really does fly when you are having "fun"!! On the positive/negative side (depending how you look at it) I found that in IMDB each individual Batwoman episode has a rating along with user reviews, trivia, and goofs! So now after watching the episode along with the review & comments in UA-cam I can now also read and enjoy the user review, trivia, and goofs in IMDB. As a result, I am now spending about 3 to 4 hours on each episode. I am curious.. how many episodes was season 1 originally going to have before it was expanded to 22? Maybe something to research in the future. As to the episode at first I knew it was going to be "interesting" looking at that really, really bad CGI of Magpie (I think) climbing a wall in one of the very first scenes. Seriously, it was so poor I was wondering at the time "What's next... stick figures or sock puppets?". Also, there is a scene later on where people where being checked before crossing a bridge yet in the background there is another bridge with cars going over it at full speed. This to me means either very poor direction or very poor editing (again, probably both). I really did enjoy Magpie (bad costume notwithstanding) and really hope that she breaks out of jail and comes back to wreak her revenge on Batwoman (assuming that the writers were smart enough to realize that and write that episode). Well.. enough for this review.. on to episode 5!! 😀

@Thorias Unlimited, when you were pointing how Magpie had elements that were "just like Catwoman"... and then said, "So that makes it TOTALLY unique and NOT a Catwoman ripoff at ALL..." I almost fell off my chair laughing. Your comedic timing is just impeccable! Thank you so much for putting up with the show to keep us entertained. But seriously, if it's getting too tough, we would understand if you can't finish the season. It really is so bad, that some other UA-camrs I follow gave up bothering with the show.

I know Bruce has used actual high tech batarangs but most are just bat shaped pieces of metal that have been sharpened to the Nth degree because they are expendable and he knows he will use them and probably not be able to get them unless Gordan has police collect then and he returns them to Bruce

Dude I want to thank you for sparing me from watching what I already knew was going to be a nightmare from the start. I'll say you offer a scathing yet honest & dissected detailed review of each episode. I don't want to say keep up the good work because I know it must be torturous for you but it's f'ing entertaining for me to watch.

Wow! This was a really eye opener for me.
After seeing the reaction to the full 22 episodes announcement I began to think my understanding of a total of only 39 episodes for all three seasons was slightly low. Sure enough, upon further review and reach there is a total of 51 episodes! Well.. my reaction was much the same as Thorias' in the beginning of his review.
Also, I was incorrect about how long ago it was. I was thinking 2 years ago but as the first season started in October 2019 it would be closer to 3 years ago at the time I am writing these comments. I guess time really does fly when you are having "fun"!!
On the positive/negative side (depending how you look at it) I found that in IMDB each individual Batwoman episode has a rating along with user reviews, trivia, and goofs! So now after watching the episode along with the review & comments in UA-cam I can now also read and enjoy the user review, trivia, and goofs in IMDB. As a result, I am now spending about 3 to 4 hours on each episode.
I am curious.. how many episodes was season 1 originally going to have before it was expanded to 22? Maybe something to research in the future.
As to the episode at first I knew it was going to be "interesting" looking at that really, really bad CGI of Magpie (I think) climbing a wall in one of the very first scenes. Seriously, it was so poor I was wondering at the time "What's next... stick figures or sock puppets?". Also, there is a scene later on where people where being checked before crossing a bridge yet in the background there is another bridge with cars going over it at full speed. This to me means either very poor direction or very poor editing (again, probably both).
I really did enjoy Magpie (bad costume notwithstanding) and really hope that she breaks out of jail and comes back to wreak her revenge on Batwoman (assuming that the writers were smart enough to realize that and write that episode).
Well.. enough for this review.. on to episode 5!! 😀
