Falls, which afflict one in every four older persons, can result in hip fractures, shattered bones, and even brain injuries. There are certain things you can do to help your loved ones lower their risk of falling and stay healthy and independent for as long as possible. Falls are avoidable, especially if you know where to look. Find out more about the common reasons that might cause a fall. This was recommended to us by the facility where my parents lived, silvergate.
If an elderly has fallen...do NOT move them or help them get up....call an AMBULANCE. Just because they say or seem to want to get up on their own or with your help...REMEMBER many times a fracture or internal injury or pain will NOT be evident until the next day....Remember you're NOT a medical doctor NOR do you have x-ray vision to determine how serious is a NO pain fall, OR to determine IF they may have had a mini quickie stroke. You personally will be liable for $$$$ or the company you represent will be liable BECAUSE YOU did not call an AMBULANCE. IT is wrong to Roll the dice and help them up instead of calling an Ambulance.

exactly, in health care in Ireland I am never going to do this...
My 91 yr old granny is no help when getting her off the floor
My mother has Alzheimer's and cannot walk but keeps trying to get out of the bed and pushes away her helpers
When you rotate them, the elderly people can not lift them up from the floor to rotate...
