I like coming back into the comments and seeing everyone showing their love for LoM. While I personally feel I could have done better with commentary and got more sleep, I had a load of fun and my couch was great.
Thanks for the run man! I used to play this game a lot as a kid. It was a pleasure revisiting this game, and you were incredibly knowledgeable. Can’t wait to check out more stuff from ya Quatropus!
You got a sub here on UA-cam! I finished this game recently and had to look if someone ran it on Limit Break! Btw Shimamura worked on MegaMan X and it shows in the boss themes in this game.
Nearing the end, around 3h30m in, but excellent run. I'm starting to actually get around to watching RPG speedruns (they're so long 💦) and I'm very glad someone ran my favorite RPG. Please keep doing your best with your runs!
Legend of Mana is such a bizzare game but in a beautiful way... it was one of the most inspiring games I played for PlayStation...

Grew up playing this game with my little brother. Never thought that one day he would be beating the whole game in under 4 hours for thousands of people! Great run bro!

I played this game with my little brother as well! Best memories. One time he ran to the kitchen to tell me "I got Garuda!" We were obsessed with the different pets you could get in the game.

It really is mind-blowing thinking how hard square must have worked to make the artwork and music as amazingly beautiful as they are.
One of my all time favorite games, one of the best ones that Squaresoft has made, and also one of the few games I could replay over and over again as a kid and always find something new. My favorite features were being able to do co-op with my mom or my sis, the different layouts you could do to unlock the various stories, and the music is just fantastic!
Legend of Mana is one of the few games I really wish they would do a sequel for or even re-release it on newer consoles, no need to update the graphics cause that's part of the charm. Thank you for doing this run! Fills me with nostalgia.
I got goosebumps from every soundtrack strike my ear drum with nostalgic, i love this game before, after so many years passed, i still love this game!
My favorite tracks are Darkness Nova and City of Flickering Destruction. The fact that you get to hear both of them in the same place is outstanding.
Played this game on a pirated PS1 because the game never reached Europe.
Didn't knew what to do at first and I was kinda off-put by the colorful graphics and happy music (I was on FF7/8 vibe back then)
Turned the game off after an hour.
Got my hands on a strategy guide a month later.
Got enchanted by the incredible music and the engrossing storylines.
To this day, every time I hear "Sparkling City of Ruin", I feel like I'm inches away from crying. One of the most depressing combos of piano and violin I've ever heard. And I always do cry during the Jumi finale. Despite being petrified, we managed to save their race and they combine their tears to save us. And that emotional return home... Just incredible.
best looking JRPG of all time. Can't get enough of it.

This is one of my favourite games of all time. Amazing music, gameplay, characters, sand of course the gorgeous art. So happy to see it done justice at RPG Limit Break!!!!

So glad this run got in, Legend of Mana is my favorite game of all time, and it is amazing to see a run showcasing so much of its content to a big audience in a huge speedrunning event like this. Here's hoping that more people get exposed to the gorgeous wonder that this game is! And thank you runners and RPGLB staff for making all of this possible!

One of my most cherished games growing up.
Final fantasy 1 was my gate way drug on the nes then i moved on to stronger ones with chrono trigger then i hit my all time high with legend of mana after that...i cant get that good high feeling of new rpg even with octopath traveler (as good as it is) i cant explain the feeling but it is gone.
But thank you all for playing a bit nostalgia it feels great hearing the music in this game again.
I watched this directly off the stream VOD earlier because I couldn't wait, but I had to come here to comment to confirm how amazing the soundtrack for this game is. I'm an absolute Yoko Shimomura fanboy (and I'm getting to meet her in September during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour concert. HYPE), and I personally consider this to be her masterpiece.
One of my favorite RPGS. Legend of Mana, otherwise known as "Legend of Figure it Out!"
I remember reaching the Jumi City, but not completing the quest, geez what a marvelous ending! I've always thought that it ended tragicaly, but the ending is the most beautiful quest arc ending in the game (after more than 15 years I till get amused by things I've never seen in it). Did not remember Larc's ending too (I think I wasn't able to read English back then to understand what was going on), and seeing it now brought a lot of tears.
Thank you so much for the speedrun, it was so good to watch and the commentators are all very found of the game and made good points the entire run.

this is the BEST mana game. idc. secret of mana is fine, seiken densetsu 3 is great. but THIS is the best mana game.

love this game, played it only once long ago, maybe ill give it a try again. Many things i never knew or tried like blacksmithing and monster training. Awesome run. I agree, this soundtrack is one of the best.
This is one of my favorite games of all time... I thought it hasnt speedruned, now i want to run it... Dream to see it on the AGDQ some day.

Well, I picked up Legend of Mana a few years ago on my Vita (Which still works..even if the handheld is dead). I never really never gotten into or gave it a fair chance. Not saying it was bad. Yet I can admit. It is a beautiful game for being nearly 20 years old. And all these graphical freaks out there would laugh at a game like this. As they don't understand the beauty of 32bit graphics and wonderful music score that adds to the level of detail.
I've played this as a child and failed to finish it before my PS1 blew up (it was a 110 volt model and my brother plugged it directly to a 220 volt socket). Square should re-release this on Steam. I don't need any of that remastered treatment.

I bought a strategy guide for this game from amazon a few days ago, around 30$ with shipping across the Atlantic, been in love with this game sense its first release but I can't seem to be able to proparly navigate in some areas, thats where the guide is gonna be put to use. Man I can't wait. The grafics in this game is like porn for my eyes and the music score is just PERFECT!

I actually had a glitch on nightmare mode against the mana goddess where the animation after killing her just continued endlessly. Or she jumped off screen and never came back I can't remember which.
If you like the soundtrack of this game, and overall Yoko Shinomura's music, I really recommend the Drammatica album
Yeah I use jump cancels and backflips mostly. Favorite weapons are staff and glove. I like Song of the Spirits. Kills everything on screen.

I wonder if Square Enix is interested in a remake of Legend of Mana in spirit because it's technically very sandboxy and open ended.

You can infinite stun every single enemy in the game using the greatsword's heavy attack in 'slow' rhythm so the combo never ends.
After you hit the enemy enough times they go stunned and will stay stunned if you keep using strong attacks.

Depends, but the leaderboards currently have co-op as a separate category.
