Loved that game too! Upgraded to a geforce 4 mx440 64mb (PCI, not even AGP no less) to make it run on my pc lol Then Joint Ops... then cheaters took over... then Battlefield 2 dropped and didn't look back. Think about it, BF2 dropped in 2005 and they went backwards with DF Xtreme.
The MP5 from DF1 was my favorite, it was silent and deadly. The Barret .50 was so deadly, if you could see a pixel, you could kill it. The M203 could carry 35 nades.... thirty-five. How many boxes of kleenex was that responsible for? The SAW in DF1 sounded like a well oiled killing machine because it WAS. There was no death cam, there was no spawn armour... DF1 was a man's game. :D DF1 was best once Land Warrior came out because most of the cheaters left for the new game, and we reveled in the enjoyment of most of them being gone.
Oh the memories when hearing all those sounds of Delta Force 2. Enemies could be super accurate to great distances but could hit you in few shots when you were next to them. It wasnt easy game at all.

I remember the old Delta's like yesteryear! In the age of the fast run&gun game UT I had lots of trouble surviving these tactical games! Project IGI and Rainbow Six same thing! It really doesn;t work running into a compound guns blazin'! Highly frustrating! Later on I got to learn to be tactical and enjoy the games. Great times.
Man I used to play the shit out of the games, especially Xtreme. The game was amazing tech-wise for the time, and it was.. I dont know.. Fun to play in a sense it had no bullshit. You have an objective, you go and do it. No stupid cutscenes eetc.

I do miss games like these tho, where they stuck at one thing they did good. For example: Delta Force was a fun tactical shooter. It had a little bit of realism to it, but it could hardly be called a milsim. so that's what it did. It did not try to be anything else, it did not try to be cinematic or with much story. It knew it's strengths and what's what it did. Max Payne was a cinematic expierence with great, run and gun linear level design. It did not try to be anything else . Problem these days is that games try to be too many things at once: story, open world, realism, etc, and they end up being mediocre at all.

Delta force 1999 was the best one out of all these. Even if their graphics are high, they can't beat my favourite delta force 2 of 1999. I would love if there will be some changes in graphics and game gets updated again.
I have played all these delta force games in childhood but the ones i played the most were delta force 1 and delta force task force dagger. Delta force was some of the first games that i started to played at the age 6. I will never forget these games❤️

it blows my mind they've been seemingly using the same engine from Land Warrior onwards. I loved LW, but holy hell that game felt right in 2000-2001, not even 2005, much less 2009. I know Novalogic got bought out but this is just depressing to see the degradation in quality.

Having played them all, I thought Delta Force Extreme was really good and easy to create custom maps as well. Then one Tuesday it was suddenly gone, with no notice, no warning.. just gone.
DF2 was so much fun at the time. Then, Land warrior and BHD too. Those older games had a serious problem though. Anyone ccould just log off and change their character's name. When having squad matches, you never knew who you were really playing against with all the mercenaries. I had happen all the time people ask if I can help with a match. I'm like, no.
How did you make the DF1 and 2 look so good? I never got them running with hardware rendering and trying to use dgVoodoo 2 and setting the resolution to 2560x1440 and/or forcing anti-aliasing just made the player character spin in circles forever same thing happens in DF Land Warrior and Task Force Dagger :/ Also the max resolution for DF Xtreme and Xtreme 2 seems to be 1920x1080 or 1920x1440 so how did you manage to get them running in 4K? Id love to run them in 2560x1440 resolution. 1080p looks blurry on 1440p monitor and 1920x1440 looks sharp and good but I dont like the 4:3 screen ratio.
It's been 4 months. I don't remember how it was anymore. 😐 I remember that I had to spend a lot of time to achieve this. The only thing I can tell you is - use in google search "delta force resolution fix". Sometimes it takes me over 6 hours to run one old game on windows 10 in 4K 😕 Just use "resolution fix" for any old game. This is how I find ways to run old games in 4k...
@@EvolGam Well I found a tutorial how to play DF Xtreme 2 in 4K and it will also work for DF Xtreme 1 but now I only still need to find away to run the older games in higher resolution or at least with better details :/
In the main config file (probably a .cfg in the install folder in Program Files) there was a video mode field that you had to set to 6, 7 or more for higher resolution. In my case it worked but the game usually crashed more often.

Its a shame Novalogic and THQ went under and doesn't seem like they're coming back. The combination of the War or Terror and Black Hawk Down's movie release back in 2003 really shot Delta Force's popularity into the stratosphere.
If you really want to go back to the Novalogic beginning: Wolfpack was the beginning! It was the predecessor to Armored Fist which was the predecessor to Delta Force. Delta Force picked up right where Armored Fist 3 left off. Now, compare Wolfpack to the last Delta Force game - crazy!

I love these games and still play 'em. I hate how when they updated the engine with Land Warrior it actually degraded some things. The voxel grass was really cool and there was a small blood splat when you shot enemies in the first two games. They also changed the players' guns to 2D images in the later games. That's pretty weak. Did they really think we wouldn't notice? First time I ever played Land Warrior I was like "Oh, my gun is a sprite now.... cool."
These games are legendary! Still to this day. Although the AI is so stupid and primitive, try to beat them even today, they don't cost much in Steam! Just buy them and try out! Great series of games, if you are old school and hardcore, you should try and beat them all!
