Platinum carbon black would probably be the optimal ink to highlight over and then again any word I know I want to highlight I usually do the highlight then I wait for that to dry then I write over the highlight which I would guess would be considered the underlight ? : /
I like underscoring better for the less in the face effect on the text. .Sometimes I highlight my own permanent ink notes, using my Pentel brush pen. It makes me able to choose the height of every stroke. I’ll try one of my Parallells now, once I write them empty from Noodler’s X-feather.
+1 Very unattractive looking and unnecessary pen from Kaweco. Quite useless. I once used to like Kaweco Sports for a while. I owned six of them. But I only kept the beautiful red AC Sport (black carbon fiber finish on red).
I use the Pilot Parallel 6mm for my highlighting with the Noodler's Firefly. That said I do have the Pelikan M200 highlighter but have used the highlighter fluid up. If you are really interested in trying the Pelikan let me know and I will loan it to you.
Great video.I have the yellow pelikan m205 it´s a great pen and nib. But as a highlighter its to small. I use it as a nice doublebroad nib.The ink that came with it is great though. I use it mostly in a prefounte with felttip insert.
Interesting innovation. I think some of the Kaweco nibs on the Sports are a little more problematic to use over1.9. Perhaps this pen will be useful for newspaper/magazine articles? Highlight or underline? I prefer to use a red fountain pen with red ink and a fine nib.
I agree with others that this was probably an unnecessary product. That being said, I think your tests are a bit unfair. If you follow content creators in the planner community, those folks have a lot of information about which gel pens or rollerball pens won't smear when covered with highlighter ink. The Kaweco ink might or might not cause smearing with those pens Personally, I use Post-it flags most of the time, but I also have some highlighter pencils that are amazing -- no smearing, no bleedthrough, and they never dry out. I also can't stand writing in books.
Kind of feels like Kaweco missed the whole point of the fountain pen experience. A bit like PC keyboards designed to look like typewriters when the true experience is so much more. Call me a snob haha

Good thing is you now have a highlighter pen you can leave dedicated to the purpose. Looks cool too IMO.
I like the colour of that Kaweco i will eventually have to get one.

I love Kaweco Sports, but this idea should have been junked straight after the brainstorming meeting.
Agreed. Terribly product. I'll stick to my proper highlighter pens in a choice of colours.

The nib is dragging excess pigment off of the surface of the ink. This is why metal-nibbed highlighters create a problem that should not exist.

Try highlighting with a Pilot Parallel.

Or they are pushing the inside of the envelope? To be successful, you have to fail some of the times, don’t you think?
@ personally I don’t need anyone to revolutionize a fountain pen’s glory but each to their own
