- In this video, I'll show you around the Bang & Olufsen premium sound system in the Ford Fiesta Vignale Edition. It has a total of 10 speakers including a subwoofer in the boot area.
The music was played via USB, with 320kbps audio quality. Like I mentioned in the video, the music may not be to everyone's taste as I can't play any music I like, due to copyright reasons.

my sister has this car also. great sound with bang & olufsen. but does it only support mp3 files or also flac files?

Also ich habe in meinem Ford ecosport, Bo Sound drin, 10 Lautsprecher, 675 Watt, 200 Watt Subwoofer im Kofferraum, möchte ich nicht mehr missen. Hammer Sound. Vor allem mit sorround sound

@@MrSevioable Hi guten Abend, also Basseinstellung mittig oder etwas näher Richtung rechts, die anderen Einstellung hoch und tieftöner ganz nach rechts.

@@michaelschaefer1284 hört sich jetzt schon deutlich besser an! Habe die Sound Einstellung noch auf Surround gestellt und nun zeigt die Anlage was sie kann!
Ford has reduced the power from 675W to 575W actually but thanks for the MY20 B&O update.
I was unaware of that, but thanks for commenting to let other people know.
I guess the position of the sub-woofer is much better than before, so 100W should not make a difference in sound quality or loudness.
@@TrON4037 I would have thought the subwoofer is the same part found in the previous model year MK8 Fiesta's, it's just in a different place. Even so, there's plenty of noise coming from the speakers even if the power rating has been reduced.
Can anyone please help. I have the same B&O system, however when I set the bass and treble to how I want it, the settings don’t save when I turn off the car and start it back up again it reverts back to original setting. Does anyone know how to store your custom setting on the bass and treble and surround? It’s so annoying having to constantly adjust it manually wherever I get into the car.
@@Mania28 I haven't heard of this issue before but you're best to book it into a Ford dealer if it's still in warranty.
I would imagine the 675W is RMS. If you think that probably the sub alone would be 300W probably then you're probably only talking 60 to 65 for the 5 main drivers and 20 ish for the tweeters
Lol why is the Treble all the way up. It sounds not that good. Or it's just a bad mic
Damn, that setup is gonna be an absolute CNUT to bypass to fit aftermarket gear. Likely the system will be digitally crossover to send only the freq needed to doors, centre mid, tweeter and sub. Problem is that all has to recombined to feed an aftermarket amp should you ever want to upgrade amp big problems. Any speakers you do add will have that factory EQ applied to them so that need very expensive de-eq hardware . Even the Sub probably have bass below 30Hz rolled off so a sub upgrade wont sound as good as it could. Better off without the B and O and the bog standard sound, then upgrade.
A disappointing downgrade for ford. Ive owned the sony audio ford escape and now the b&o. The distortion at higher volume is terrible. The b&o beats sony in Clarity at high frequencies. But the bass is terrible. People wanna groove and jam in their cars. So get the bass on.
don't push the sound too much tho you might overheat your speakers and damage them (especially the front middle that does major of the work)
They might distort overtime, but overheating, no. They’re tested thoroughly before being fitted into thousands and thousands of Fiestas.
@@cm66ot69 Isn't distortion caused from overheating at high volume? I don't find it normal that a sound system that costed 1000€ in the option list starts to distort quite badly after only 5 years, especially a so called "675W" sound system... and this problem is very common from what I saw, on fiestas, pumas and probably other EU models aswell. People have been complaining about that center speaker precisely, and so I am
@@SkywardFR distortion is caused mainly by putting too much power through the speakers, sometimes by overheating through the amp, not speaker drivers themselves as far as I’m aware. I don’t actually know much about problems with the Fiesta MK8 standard/B&O speakers, nor about the centre speaker, which I guess is a mid range driver.

It depends if it's a new or used ST-2 or ST-3. Currently the B&O system is an optional extra for the new MK8.5 ST-3.

Possibly, although I'm not quite sure. You'd probably need to speak to Ford directly about this. Either that or buy the B&O DSP, wiring and speakers separately and do the upgrade yourself if it's possible to do so.

iam not sure how to put this into the right perspective.. so let me put it like this: did you ever invest in better speakers in previous cars? if yes, would you say, that the B&O system is equal or better then aftermarket speakers below 500 bucks worth of material and installation? iam asking because: i just changed the front speakers one time on my first car 15 years ago, didnt do any dampening , just changed the fron speakers for a fitting set off the internet for 250 bucks.. 2 woofers, 2 mids, 2 highs. and yes, i heared the change but it didnt feel like a 250 dollar upgrade and thats where people said: if you wanna upgrade, you need to do everything, not just changing the speakers and dont bother with anything, thats below 500 for the material and eighter do everything yourself or go and do it in a workshop and pay for it.
This Fiesta isn't my car, I've just made a video on it to show people the B&O sound. But yes, part of me would consider keeping the standard Ford system and upgrading the speaker system if I was looking at buying a new Fiesta. However, you won't get the B&O digital sound processor, which I believe is calibrated (as well as the speaker and positioning of them) for the car. Plus, it's a good selling point for when you want to sell it.
I can't say if the B&O sound system is equal/better than a £500 speaker upgrade, simply, because my preference in sound quality maybe different to yours. But nine times out of ten, I would say spending £500 on upgrading the standard speaker system will be better than to spec the B&O system. But again, this comes down the personal preference.
Most modern cars nowadays come with an okay speaker system (for most people anyway) and it really depends if you upgrade the speakers as to how better it will sound. And as you guessed, the more money you spend on upgrades, the better it will sound. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching!

The problem is the B and O is artificially splitting frequencies to make a fake centre and applying large amounts of EQ that cannot be bypassed to give a normal flat stereo out to feed an aftermarket system. It's a big problem to fix. I would say that a new headunit is needed with single din adaptor and complete removal of the B and O. Speakers, amp, sub, headunit. everything in the bin.
675 watts ? Where ? Under the carpet ? 300 watts RMS max.
It wouldn’t even be 300W RMS.
How do you turn on the subwoofer on the new focus st
i had a drive in such a car not so long ago. But the speakers would not play really loud only to "30". Is there a way to change that,
that's the maximum it goes in my car as well, not sure if its limited by ford because of EU audio regulations.
How many rms?
I contacted both Ford and Bang & Olufsen themselves and neither of them would provide me with the RMS power output.
