You're talking Real Bullshit!!!!!! Since the reunion of Mark 2 in 1984 Blackmore played this solo......created by himself...... so lousy and awful ......as Steve joined the band he brought Back the old spirit and he is the guy.......the one and only guy who played the Solos of the old tunes how they must be played!!!!!! But one the other hand i have to say that this young cat is doing a great job..........good substitute of Morse

Yes pretty amazing! And i think they play in standard tuning which no bands from the 60,s-70,s does anymore because the singer can’t sing that high.Like Whitesnake tunes a hole step down and Coverdale can’t even reach those high notes with a super low tuning like that.

@@peteyoung7665 The only thing Gillan can't do anymore is his trademark screaming, that's why they dropped songs like Child in Time from the set.
But although his voice changed over the years he can still sing his old Deep Purple songs in their original tuning.

He's truly a better fit for the MKII material than Morse is/was. I have been saying that since discovering the "Don Airey Band" albums from Russia/Eastern Europe that he played on with Gillian a few years ago. This is bittersweet though, as the Morse material should be played by Morse. A tough situation. I am enjoying Simon's playing *immensely* though!

For me, Deep Purple on stage is the interaction of Blackmore, Lord and Paice with real improvisation, and not a good performance of a learned lesson.
Although the rhythm section is beyond praise. It seems impossible to play like that at their age. But they do.
The guitarist is a good technician, diligently copies Blackmore, there is a drive, there is no soul.
The keyboard player is the same.
