- X2 is an unbelievable roller coaster built by Arrow Dynamics, which officially opened in the public in early 2002. The project ended up being so costly and problematic that it caused Arrow to go bankrupt. The ride remains the only one of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, and is an absolute beast to conquer. The ride features unique rotating seats throughout the experience that causes riders to do various flips and rotations across a variety of elements.

Absolutely obsessed with this nightmare experience. This is the only roller coaster that truly feels dangerous to ride, and I’m here for it. 10/10 would pray on-ride again.
The only other ride that made me feel like was dying was Intimidator 305
X2 and I305 are the only roller coasters that still truly scare me.

Agree, recently rode dinoconda 4 times… felt like a tornado got a hold of u… to me these rides are the pinacle of roller coaster violence… 10/10 for me, tho i do understand other rides can match or top it without this level of intensity…
In order to avoid future backlash, I suggest getting a sponsor other than Established Titles. They’ve been outed as a scam and people have come at those who are sponsored by them.
Went on this when I was 12, opening year. My experience up til then, living in Vegas, was Canyon Blaster, Manhattan Express and the now closed Speed at the Sahara. Then we finally made it to Magic Mountain. My dad and I bolted to X2 when the park opened and still waited 30 minutes. We jumped in the back row, strapped in and headed up the lift amazed at the view. What followed next was a string of profanities flying out of my mouth that no parent should ever have to hear their child say. The picture was me screaming qnd my dad looking at me crying from laughing. There may be a battle over love it or hate it. But it's hands down my favorite ride.
I personally love the outside seats. I ride this ride because I want it to feel as out of control as possible. The outside seats just fling you around like a rag-doll and I think it is just brilliant. Painful? Slightly, but still just so insane it is worth it.
I can’t agree with you more! This thing is TOTALLY out of control and I love it to death! By far the best coaster that I’ve ever been on and I’ve been on quite a few!
I’ve never felt as violated by a roller coaster as I have with X2. It takes a while to process the experience 😂
X2 is the most extreme roller coaster I've ever been on. Went on it for the first time years ago with my teen cousin, and we both just had this shell-shocked look on our face afterwards. In the final brake run, I look over, and he just starts laughing uncontrollably.
In his words, "X2 is the only ride I've ever been on, where I get nervous everytime I go on it"

Established Titles is a scam, you probably shouldn't promote them. It doesn't make you a lord, you literally pay them for a piece of paper that is worthless.
Great review! Arrow will be missed-They had so many contributions to the industry. But Alan Schilicke is one heck of a designer, a true legend. X2 looks awesome, but if I ever get the chance to ride it, you can be sure as heck that I’m going to fight for the inside seat😂this is definitely one of the most polarizing coasters among enthusiasts.
S&S needs to bring back the 4D model. When engineered properly, it’s one of the best coasters on Earth, even after 20 years.

They still have it on their website, but the ride is very pricey, and is an extreme ride that only the hard-core will re-ride.
It’s Sara’s #1 and why Eejanaika / Japan must happen in 2023. Our favorite off ride pic together is from X2 (and my thumbnail)…no other ride has captured the OMG face on us more than X2. Ride is absolutely mental.

My favorite rollercoaster I've ridden. It's simply insane! I've never ridden on the inside but will try it next time. It's the only rollercoaster ever to get me to scream and close my eyes. I rode it another eight times that day; I just couldn't get enough of it.
Back seat inside row is my favorite ride in the world. Just absurd, I giggled the whole time.
From going to Disneyland my whole childhood and my first time going to six flags on my 9th birthday. This was the first big roller coaster. Can you imagine that. (Also to add. It was just my mom, dad and I. So I rode it by myself.) best Ride of all time
I'm honestly just happy that you rated it better than how you rated it in your last review. The roughness of the ride kind of makes it feel more intense in a way that's unexplainable. For example, I rode it around the middle of the train, and my legs just flopped everywhere like a dead fish. It's just such an amazing ride that everyone should do when they get to the park. Its a little sad though, knowing that you're riding what caused Arrow to be bankrupt.
He's not lying about the leg freedom for anyone who hasn't had the chance to experience this beauty of a ride btw. I'm under 120 lb and my right leg got flung over the separator in the final twist going into the brake run (outside seat).
Also established titles got exposed as shady btw Taylor, might wanna reconsider having them as a sponsor.

They are not recognized by the Lord Lyon King of Arms of Scotland (who is responsible for Heraldry, tracking legitimate Scottish titles (and some other stuff. “Established Titles” is a scam that will sell you a piece of paper “proclaiming” that you are a Lord/Lady of somewhere.

I've never been afraid to ride a rollercoaster but after hearing your review and reading the comments, it gives me pause. I will ride it though when I finally visit the park again.

Taylor, the established titles sponsor is a scam that is now coming to light. I recommend you trim the sponsor from the video and cut ties with the company. I recommend you do some research into this, so you know im being honest with you. I’ve watched you for many years and have even met you in person. So I know for a fact you wouldn’t intentionally mislead your fans. Just be more judgmental of who you have sponsor in the future.

Hey just a heads up, because you guys really don't need any more controversy right now, but that "established titles" sponsor has been revealed as a complete fraud. A ton of youtubers have already made videos about it and suspended their contracts with them. You'd be wise to do the same.
I went to magic mountain for the first time today. I rode this at the very end, sunset, with a fastrack to skip the 90 minute wait. I rode it on row 2 on the outside seat. I loved the whole ride. I was blown away. The onboard audio wasn’t working, but the flamethrowers were and they caught me off guard!! At the end with the last element, my legs just, as others in this comment section put it, “flopped like a dead fish”. It was an amazing end to my day 👍👍

This was one of my first bigger coasters that I ever rode and I was like 8 years old at the time, I’ll never forget it lol.
Great video! I rode this thing a week ago - my first time at MM. Wow! I was totally blown away by this ride. Its SO intense! I had a back row ride (outside seat) and then a seat midtrain (again outside seat). The latter was very rough! This coaster is now firmly in my top 5: (SV, I305, X2, Ride to Happiness, The Voyage). Given what you've said, I really need to get out to Japan now!
Only been on it once 14 years ago. Got so lucky that everything was working properly, screen, speakers, and flamethrower! So epic.

I've been on over 100 roller coasters and I have ridden X2 probably 15 - 20 times total in my lifetime and this coaster still intimidates me a bit, and I don't get nervous on roller coasters. It's such a vulnerable feeling going up the lift hill backwards and having no idea when you will hit the top. Then going down the drop face down in that position is absolutely bonkers. The entire coaster is such a disorienting but amazing experience all around. You are right about how difficult it is to reride. I can do two rides in a row max before I need to take a break. This ride takes so much out of you. But I do love this thing though. Top ten material for sure.
I went on it for the first time yesterday morning (11/25/22). I'd been watching videos and researching about this coaster because this one coaster terrified me based on all the ways other enthusiasts describe it. I went to SFMM 4 days in a row and didn't ride X2 until the last day of that trip and I regret not doing it earlier! I loved the experience! I was sitting on an INSIDE seat in the 2nd row on the left side (right side when sitting on it facing backwards). The queue, waiting at the station, the slow backwards lift hill, and that head-first pre-drop as the train gradually leaves the chain all made me feel nervous. However after taking that first drop, that nervousness turned into excitement and I enjoyed the rest of the ride! It definitely wasn't a smooth ride, but I think that wobbliness and rocking adds to the unique charm that makes it X2. I wish I could've done it again but it was my last day in LA and the line was way too long. It definitely won't be my last ride though, I will return to X2 hehe...
I remember your first review on this coaster and it’s like your relationship with this coaster has come a long way.
I adore this ride. I’ve done all the 4Ds and although this is objectively the worst of the three, it’s still absolutely wild.

I agree with everything said! It's such a beast, but don't expect it to wow you first ride. I remember doing it for the first time and really had a wtf just happened moment. Gave it a few more rides and it became clear X2 is no joke. Also, happy thanksgiving for yesterday!
I rode last month for the first time to both magic mountain and California and I couldn’t bare the roughness. I didn’t mind the layout but the roughness gave me a migraine for the rest of the day (it was the first ride of the day) so I’d rate it a 4 for character and for being such an icon.

@@CoasterKlips Yeah there's your issue lol. For me, the inside seats are marathonable, whereas the outside seats are one-and-done. It's that big of a difference.
I made this my 150th credit today and was blown away by it. I rode car 5 on the outside, my brother on the inside, and I loved it, possibly ore than Twisted Colossus. I haven't ridden X2 a second time because the ride had a 3+ hour wait after, but I think I might prefer the outside even if I get an inside seat ride due to the extra out-of-control feeling it seems comes with the outside seats.
Never rode it but im in missouri and cant travel to magic mountain but i watch this and tatsu on youtube like weekly. Such amazing rides.
got a back row outside seat night ride on this and was shook. luckily the last ride of the night. Still loved it as much as inside though.
Before X2, my first “big” coaster was cannibal, and that could not prepare me for this.
I was here 2004 and I still remember this one 🤩 when I get off I had headache but it was so worth it
I love this ride so much! On my last visit a year ago, I kept going back into the station, basically getting on every other cycle, 13x in about 2 hours. I could've kept going. They were letting us leave our loose articles on the floor next to the gates. X2 has been my # 1 before. It's somewhere in my top 7 now. When entering the final raven turn, I put my hands behind my neck to avoid that whiplash, and that works perfectly.
Do you put ur hands behind or neck or head? And do u try to brace forward or keep it against the headrest
@@GDNebula_ I did behind the neck, but behind the head should also work, as it serves to stabilize the head for the forces. I would keep my head forward a bit for more wiggle room. Before learning about this trick, I would lean my head far forward, which does throw the head more, but it kept it from being thrown into the back of the seat. If only that 2nd raven turn was like the first, which is straight from heaven.
My first ride on this was my last ride of the day as I wanted to build my way up to it and that night ride will forever be seared in my memory. I love this ride.
FINALLY I just got to experience X-2 in September! WOW!!! Incredible absolutely amazing idk where to place it in my top 10 Coasters yet so I'm gonna watch this review and figure it out. Thanks for another great video
I had done inversions before and some other old arrow coasters but this my first big ride. Its just a incredible experience. I went on this back row at 9 am a few weekends back and it was so disorienting and confusing and such a amazing ride.

I think Eejanaika is probably a better ride, but I'm not sure if it'd top it for me because of how much the onboard soundtrack adds to the ride, especially the lift. It really hypes you up

Excellent video as always, Taylor! However, I did wanna tell you that you might not wanna accept a sponsorship from Established Titles again. It’s basically a scam. Established Titles isn’t legally recognized by Scottish law, so you can’t actually buy a tiny piece of land and thus legally call yourself a lord or lady. I’m sure you were just ignorant of this, but just be sure to look into your sponsors more next time.
Love your videos and completely understand why you need sponsors. But just a tiny amount of research would have shown you Established titles is a complete scam. Please stop having them as a sponsor or your followers might just assume you are knowingly pushing scams to rip them off. That being said, X2 is my biggest bucket list for coasters.

x2 is by far the best coaster I have ever been on (the lift hill view is spectacular). I have also done it at freight fest at night and that was next level! I need to go back
Totally agree with you! An inside seat ride on X2 is amazing, but an outside seat ride is terrifying and painful. I can’t believe no one has broken a leg on that thing! 😅
Excellent review. I’m 37….my first job ever in high was six flags the year X opened. Now 20 something years later my 8 year old daughter is absolutely obsessed with it! Since she was 7. Still can’t believe I look over to my right and see her sitting on that beast next to me. Only thing for me……anything past the 4th row is hell. Very rough and unenjoyable unless you love walking around with a messed up neck.
I went on this for the first time in 2004, was blown away, then again in 2010 when it was X2. I sat on the outside seat front row and again I was blown away. I was 52 then. Here I am nearly 64 and I'm itching to get on this beast again, but this time it'll be in the middle on the inside seat! Truly amazing ride. I can watch this thing operate for hours on end, it's nearly as fun as riding it. I give it a 9.9!
I'm 43, glad to see you still riding at 64! Sometimes I think maybe I'm getting too old for this, or maybe other people at the park will think I'm too old (I always go to parks by myself), but if you're healthy enough to ride why not at any age? Ride on!

@@CitrusKush-by5np Yes, I am starting to. The last time I went to a Six Flags was in NJ about 6 years ago and Kingda Ka really got to me. It shakes a lot and I felt like my head was going to explode. I'm not sure I will be able to ride X2 again, but perhaps if I sat towards the middle? Mentally I will always want to though. I am young at heart, I love stuff like rides, etc. Makes me feel like a kid. Some folks, even older ones like me never got over it!!! And you won't either! Embrace it!!! Yay!

X2 really is insane. I did 2 rides back to back but really had to consider if I was ready to ride a second time and I'm a diehard coaster enthusiast.
Rode this back in highschool when it was the x. Thought the flames looked just dumb while waiting in line but after being thrown around and disoriented somehow those flames were just the cherry on top. This is probably the greatest ride ever just because of how innovative and disorienting it is. Only contender in my book would be steel vengeance at cedar point which isn't as innovative but incredibly fun throughout.

Dude I wish I could've re-rode this when I was there. I waited 3.5 hours to get on X2 a couple days after Christmas 2023. That was my first time to magic mountain, and because of this wait we only got 5 rides in, and we were at the parl between 11am and 9:30pm
Established title is a scam, you don't actually own any land and nobody would recognize the title as the sale of land this way is illegal in Scotland.
Only Established title has a record of what land you "own" and there is no way to actually know that they planted a tree or that you got a unique plot of land. They're also based off of Hong Kong which allows them to skirt a lot of laws. Basically you're paying for a fake digital certificate so just be aware

love it. My #1 coaster in my limited count of mostly west coast coasters. I like intense coasters and X2 tops that list.
I limit myself to one ride a visit but it's the ride i most look forward to.
My coaster buddy is a bit more sensitive than I am so I normally let her take the inside seat. But last time we visited Magic Mountain we decided to switch it up for fun so I got my first inside seat ride and the difference between inside and outside was so insane it blew my mind.

I rode it in 05 when it was just regular X and at night still the most insane coaster I've been on!
I mean back in 2002 when this thing opened, nothing was like X2. Nothing in the world even came close to resembling this coaster, and Arrow Dynamics really lived up to their reputation that they were super innovative for their time. They were the manufacturer to always go to when you needed a steel coaster. And X2 is one of their masterpieces. So ahead of its time over 20 years ago, and while it bankrupted Arrow Dynamics, this was a worthy final coaster for them. Still hard to believe that X2 is over 20 years old, which it stil looks modern to me.

This is my number one Rollercoaster ride so far! Number two for me is F.L.Y. in Phantasia Land Germany. If you haven't yet, you should come to Germany and try out F.L.Y. I am sure you will not be disappointed! It is lengthy and amazing! Though I am very curious about Eejanaika! If it is that good it might easily jump to my number one spot.
Best roller coaster EVER! Period!
I just went on this nightmare machine for the first time yesterday, top 5 for sure! We brought my new beanie thinking it would stay on, nope! It flew off right on the raven turn and was yeeted into the valet restricted parking lot. On the way out of the parking lot however, we decided to sneak in the lot and see if we could find it. Sure enough, it was right there laying flat on the wet concrete. That hat has been through a lot and reminds me every time I put it on of an experience I will never forget!

X2 is the king. Pure unbridled terror. Not for wussies or the only-air-time fixated. Nothing else like it in the US. I've been on over 150 coasters. X2 is my all time favorite. Terrifies me every time. Hells yeah.

Since I’ve been on X2 13 times, I usually am the one to sit on the outside seat. Most people I go with, I save them from the brutality of that final raven turn. My most recent visit was brutal. I love the ride, but it is a whole different kind of crazy that has to be experienced to truly understand.

Finally redemption after your initial review. This is on the very short list of most unmissable coasters in North America.
My #2/272. Absolutely insane ride. My favorite seat? Outside, back row. It absolutely brutalizes you. No other roller coaster does that. Also, the best drop I’ve ever experienced… Skyrush follows close behind, but X2 reigns supreme. Only Voyage beats it for me.
My 8 year old son loved HangTime at Knotts and wanted to try some bigger coasters. So we went to Magic Mountain and went on X2, and he said he had to close his eyes and didn't want to do it again.
Then we went on Goliath, Twisted Collosus, and Apocalypse, and he said he wanted to do X2 again so he could keep his eyes open. He loved it the 2nd time.
That's great to know! I might be going to Magic Mountain soon and my 8 year old wants to ride it but I feel kinda weird about it. He has done Iron Gwazi, El Toro, Lightning Rod among others. Just this one has such a reputation for being scary that it makes ME a little scared of him riding it lol.
@randyobando1836 It is a VERY intense ride, no question. There is nothing to be worried about except for your 8 year old being freaked, but I was nervous for my son to do it as well as he's pretty small at 4'1" and around d 50 lbs. Still glad we did it. He ended up loving it.
@@GTNover My son is right about 50 inches. So that also makes me feel better. How are the restraints? He kinda likes when they feel tight 😅
@randyobando1836 restraints are great. They go all the way acrossed your chest and were tight on me as a small adult. he doesn't remember It was tight on him.
The only time it was ever too much for me was the outside seat back row by myself, that was insaneeeeee but I loved it
I love it...first time I waited 3 hours and I didn't mind one bit. I do not care how long the wait is I will not leave the park without riding it
